Your guild leader is tired of being constantly bugged by members for really simple questions. I have been messaged about each and every single one of these questions. This is for all the newbies here in the guild, or those who just want to freshen up their knowlege of the system, check here. This should be the first board all new-comers should read when they arrive!

Q: 'I just joined, and this is my first guild. What do I do?'

A: You'd think this would be obvious, but you MUST create and post a profile in both the village of your choosing and in the general Profile/Clans subforum. In the 'Information' board inside that subforum, you will find a formula for your character profile. This is nessesary before you start rping. I've have to bust two people in the same night for making this mistake.

Q: 'Where do I post my profile?'

A: We have two places that profiles should be put in on this site. First of all is the "Profiles" thread on the front page of the Forums, closer to the bottom of the villages list (where you click to enter a village). There, you'll post it in the appropriate clan OR simple in the 'Those Without Clans' post. The second place is the "Profiles" threads of your character's home village. If your character doesn't have a village, there are other choices. If your character is a missing-nin, then you'd post his or her profile in the "Outlands" sub-forum. If none of those fit, feel free to PM me and I'll let you know as soon as I can. Note: You do not post your profile in every single village. Pick one, and stay there.

Q: 'Ok, I just made my profile, now what?'

A: Well, if your profile has been OK'd by a higher up, then get RPing and enjoy yourself! ^^ If you're a missing nin, do the exact same thing, but post out in the Outlands as your first post.

Q: Do I need to be ranked before I can rp?

Not quite. We need an example of your rping skill and general writing talent before we can determine your rank. There is a board labled above for this specific tasks. Follow the instructions there, and get to rping!

Q: Hey, when do I get a squad?

A: Because of how difficult it is to get 4 people on at the same time, we have sort of done away with this system, and have instead gone to the more basic apprenticeship system. Find yourself another ninja (chuunin or higher), and train under them. If you're more the loner type, train alone. Also, watch for wars and specialty missions. biggrin These are excellent opportunities to get some experience in. You might even earn a promotion in the process. wink

Q: 'Am I allowed more then one character'?

A: If you're able to manage multiple characters and roleplay them all, then there's no reason for you to NOT have multiples. However, we do ask that you don't go crazy and create enough characters to populate an entire village.

Q: 'Hey, someone just PM'ed me about not being allowed to have a demon sealed inside of me/Rinningan! What gives!'

A: We here at Arashi are very strict when it comes to overpowered characters. Our admins are constantly on patrol for various breaches of realistic characters, such as genins who somehow know Jonin-level jutsu, young Uchiha having Mangekyou Sharingan, or being a Jinchuuriki. IF, and this is a massive "if", you can prove to one of the captains or vice-captains that you're a good enough RPer to have a Jinchuuriki and not abuse the power, then we MAY consider allowing it. But it takes a lot to impress us.

Q: 'You're bias against my character! Why can't my Sharyakugan exist!'

A: The Sharyakugan, or any other mixing of any bloodline limits, can be explained away with more than just "Something like that is MUCH too powerful". O.o Consider this: Most clans are secretive and jealously guard their techniques and bloodline limits from outsiders. Would any clan, much less the "Proud and Mighty Hyuuga Clan" allow one of their own to pass on the mighty Byakugan to anybody outside their clan?

Q: 'My character is the son/daughter/brother/relation of Gaara/Naruto/Sasuke/Kisame/Canon character. Why is the Captain asking me to change this?'

A: Arashi is set an indeterminate length of time in the future, and all previous cannon characters are dead. So people from that time, such as "Naruto's brother" or whatever, would be dead as well due to age. v.v; We also have a bit of a rule against making direct relations to cannon characters. The closest we accept is that your character is from the same clan as a cannon character, a very VERY long genetic relation (Great Great Grand-son) or knowing a canon in their infancy/toddler age.

Q: 'I have a special clan I want to create. What do I do?'

A: We are willing to accept many unique clans, but first they must gain the approval of an admin. So PM one of the higher-ups, and if they aren't sure, they'll be able to pass it on to somebody who does. The admins will check the clan to ensure it's not just a cheap knock-off of another clan, or grossly overpowered. If approved, then you should follow the template given in the "Unique Clans" thread in order to post information about that clan.

Q: 'What's this 'God-moding', and why is everyone yelling at me over it!'

A: Godmoding is when an RPer does things that makes their characters unbeatable. Examples include automatically dodging and blocking all attacks, automatically hitting with all attacks, and possessing more strength than anybody their age should. >> If many people claim you're godmoding, you probibly are, which is normal for all beginning RPers. Just power down your character and remember: Characters are much more interesting when they're not gods.

Q: 'Why am I not allowed to know the 8 Trigrams and the Shadow Possession Jutsu at the same time? My character knows every jutsu there is!'

A: The Eight Trigrams is a technique normally known only to the Main House of the Hyuuga Clan, and thus is jealously guarded. Normally, not even Branch House Members are taught that technique. Neji is an exception. The Shadow Possession is a technique exclusive to the Nara Clan, and is also kept secret from the outside ninjas. And if your character supposedly knows all jutsu there is, then by all rights that character shouldn't even be in this guild.

Q: 'I want to be Hokage! How do I do that!'

A: Sorry, but most of our villages have Kages running them already. o_o Plus, it's a serious responciblity and a lot of work to be in charge of a village. So we can't just give the rank out to anybody. It takes more than RPing skills, it also takes dedication and responciblity.

Q: 'I don't want to be a genin anymore! Why doesn't my rank change!"

A: Your rank improves through a combination of improved writing skills and post-number in the guild. This can be set off balance though, if you're super-good at writing or are a good combo of both. Improving your writing skills is our biggest aim here, so the higher you want your rank, the better your writing skills should be.

Q: 'How do I become a Mod?'

A: We aren't accepting new mods right now. Those that are Mods are usually my most trusted friends, who I know won't go berserk with their power. Power balance in the guild is what keeps it afloat, after all.

Q: 'What's Nan Dattebayo, and who is this Birdy that the Mods keep mentioning?'

A: Nan Dattebayo could be claimed to be the "Parent Guild" of Arashi. Essentially, almost all of the highest ranked members, including myself and the Captain were once members of another Naruto RPing guild, called Nan Dattebayo. At the time, there was a co-captain who was in charge of Sunagakure, called Birdy Main. >>; Birdy was a godmoder in every sense of the word. Unrealistic powers, unrealistic jutsu, a perfect character who didn't even TRY to act like a character from the Naruto world should... >< This, combined with her tyrannical methods and her instances of abusing her moderator powers by deleting character posts she didn't like lead to a rebellion. v.v; The result was that most of the members on Nan Dattebayo left the guild, which has since died. We formed Arashi, and we all decided that the first one to take a stand against Birdy and her controlling ways should be the one to lead us. ^^ That brave person who stood up for all us back then was none other than Captain Shane Ares.

Q: 'A mod is being mean to me! What do I do!'

A: If a moderator is truly picking on you and abusing their position, don't keep quiet about us. Alert a co-captain, and send us copies of any instances where this occured. v.v; Due to the aforementioned incident at Nan Dattebayo, we here at Arashi have a seething hatred of moderators who abuse their positions, and if the moderator is guilty of picking on the normal members for no reason, then at best they'll be stripped of their rank, at worst banned from the guild.

Q: 'What will get me banned?'

A: It takes serious offenses to be actually banned. Abusing your power, multiple counts of godmodding and powerplaying even after being warned multiple times by higher-ups. v.v; Normally, the administrators will warn you if you're in danger of being banned. We here tend to give first offenses a warning, just in case the offender truly didn't realize how out-of-line they were.

There are some things that will lead to permanent bans. Mostly, they include doing something major, such as establishing a new village without the approval of an administrator.

Q: 'I want to kill another character! Can I do that?'

A: That depends... O.o Normally I would say no, but the best advice is actually to take that up with the person who owns that character. If you discuss it with them, and they're feeling generous, they may agree for your character to kill theirs.

HOWEVER! -- Killing a character WITHOUT THE PLAYER'S PERMISSION is a serious offense and will be answered with the appropriate punishment.

Q: 'I wanna be a part of the Akasuki, but there's no Akasuki board!'

A: O.o As of now, there is no official Akatsuki presence in Arashi. The closest we have is our own secretive criminal organization, the Ooi Kuro. And I don't believe that the head of Ooi Kuro is accepting any new members at this point.

Q: 'OHMG I just got a great idea! Can I bring in Luffy from One Piece or some other character from an anime other then Naruto?'

A: ... No. No you may not. Sorry to say this folks, but Arashi is a NARUTO RPing guild. If you want to RP as somebody from the One Piece universe, then you're free to find a One Piece guild. I'm sure they're out there.

Q: 'I don't think that Shane is doing a good job. How do I get her to change a rule?'

A: Shane is always open to changing to make Arashi a happier and better RPing environment. Simply PM either her or myself with your rule change suggestion. If she thinks it's a good idea, then she'll impliment it.
Note: If you're using this suggestion as an excuse to simply insult the way Shane runs things, don't bother sending her the message. You're allowed to grumble on your off time, but don't turn it into a personal attack against her.

Q: 'Can I advertise for other guilds on Arashi?'

A: No. I never was nor will I ever be comfortable with advertising for another guild or rp thread. It just doesn't feel right to be taking potencial members away from the home guild.

Q: 'Why was I banned?'

A: Most likely you were banned for some sort of serious infraction, or inactivity. If you feel you were banned unfairly, you can PM me personally and I'll ask around, see what the story is behind your being banned. However, if I feel that the reason is an acceptable one, unless you can convince me that you've changed, I can't guarentee you'll be allowed back in.

Q: 'My demon is a wolf demon, not one of the original 9. Is that allowed?'

A: Never. I see this as a way to worm your way around the rules. Don't even try.

Q: 'My character has a curse seal. Why is that not allowed?'

A: Orochimaru is long dead, and thus there is nobody left to infect with curse seals. There are some exceptions, but this requires that you get clearance from one of the adminstrators.

Q: 'Can I create my own village?'

A: Creating your own village IS possibly, but it's not easy. You can't submit some half-assed idea, or simply make it on your own. You must PM one of the Co-Captains or Shane herself, or possibly post a thread about your idea on the OOC forums. If one of the Co-captains likes the idea, he or she will bring Shane's attention to it. Ultimatly, all new villages require Shane's final okay before they can be created.

Q: 'I'm an Uchiha/Kaguya/Hyuuga, but it says that my village doesn't allow more Uchiha/Kaguya/Hyuuga and I have to go to another village. Why is that?'

A: This rule is due to those selective clans either being killed off, extinct, or having limited numbers. It also serves as a protective barrier against hoardes of Uchiha over-running the place. The limit stands at 2 Kaguya, 5 Uchiha, and 12-15 Hyuuga per village.

Q: I have a strange summoning type. Is this allowed?

A: Of course it's allowed. Just send it to a mod, and if they approve it, then post it in the Summonings Profiles in the Profile Section. You are allowed no more then 5 summons.

@_@ That's all for now...I'll post more when someone asks me about them...

Edit: If you have read this entire thing, post 'Yeehaa' down below.
