i do not believe in any higher power what-so-ever, making me atheist.
this is not a relaxed debate, so people this might offend, please do not read.
(and p.s. to people who are related to me... don't tell my dad, or he will shoot me gonk )
I do not believe, at all, that there is a god. And I believe that people who commit crimes and go to church for 'confession' are crazy to believe that they are forgivin by this little act of truth. I also believe that people who might have doubts about a higher power, only claim to believe because they are afraid that they will be damned to hell if they do not believe.
On another note, if there was a god, he created all humans right? To think, and feel thoughts and emotions of their own correct? So why, would you be sent to hell just because of what you do (or do not) believe in?
As you can see from the P.S. above, that my dad and his side of the family is very religious, which is fine. They have their beliefs, i have mine. But they do not know of mine. I go to church and sit quietly because if I had ever told them, they would not approve. Why do we have to lie to fit in? If there was a god, he wouldn't want that would he?

if there is a god
why can all these bad things happen to me
living in fear of something that no one can prove is there is just strange
even though i say 'ohmigawd' often, i can't say that i mean it
if there was a god, people in the u.s. wouldn't get raped and burned in there houses
people wouldn't lock there doors at night
and people would live generally without fear
and did i mention NO WAR?
well, yeah

I personaly beleive in re-incarnation.
I think god was just someone made up to give people a sense of false hope/shelter/ and security. But later became someone just to blame all of our problems on.
The world is unfair and unjust enough to see their is no god, and when a baby dies for no reason, and people say its "All part of gods plan"
Then I dont think I like his plan, and if it has to do with innocent deaths then I want no party of it.

 -Gigglesnort.- I think that Christianity and Catholicism is nothing but a bed-time story that people made up to frighten children... Also, people at the time needed someone to blame for their misfortune, similar to Roman and Greek mythology. I admit, there is a higher source of power out there, I just don't believe it's this "God" that children are taught to fear at a young age.

If I tell and he shoots you, that means you have no Repect towards tree's. true story. ANYWAY, I on the other hand am a heavy Catholic. yay me. I goto church often, usually as an alter server, and i see things identical to what Jesus see's... such as i see you all burning in hell one day. Become a Catholic today. Or a Jew, but they're not as fun. AND REMEMBER AS ALWAYS: respect Riffe Spearguns.

I'm also a strong atheist.
I agree with idea of religion being a false shelter. For me it's a thing that people made up because it's easier to believe into something higher than to really deal with thing the way they are.
If Religion works for you and you can find security in it and it makes you do good things, makes you help living a better life, then it's absolutely fine with me. Everybody needs to make his/her own decisions.
But what angers me is, that some people use Religion to spread hate & cover-up crimes with Religion. It's done before & it's done today. Sad, because we're capable of so much more.
No one has got the real & only way of life. Everybody has got their own.
