((He doesn't have a cert yet.)) Mother had come home last night, horribly scarred. Along the side on the face... She wouldn't say anything besides, "It's from a fight."
He had tried to push past that, but Sukari would tell him no more. Dad had caught a little bit of food, that everyone agreed should go to their injured mother.
Fenris, for now, though, meandered farther and farther from the den. He didn't care that Ryega might get yelled at, He didn't care that they might worry. He just needed to get awa from his mother, who was enraging the cub more and more with every act of violence she'd preformed against anyone. She'd said it was self defense- he didn't buy it. Fen knew his mother better than that, she had sparked a fight.
She seemed very shaken though, moreso than she did after any old fight. The cheeton didn't want his mother's marks, his mother's eyes. He wanted away, just as Ryega did. He thought through the escape plan again, walking absentmindedly, not paying attention to those around him.

Despite Raza's concern about his injuries, Angu had refused to let anyone take over his patrol for him, insisting that he wasn't hurt too badly to walk around. He didn't expect trouble, after all. Not much out here would actively pursue him, and he knew that even if Sukari came back to pick a fight with him, she was in worse shape than he was.
Though he loved patrolling the area to make sure it was safe, it didn't stop pain from shooting up his leg every few minutes. He forced himself to keep going, not wanting to submit to the pain, he wanted to master it.
Just when he was thinking of declaring this area safe and clear of all life, he saw the cub. Of course, he couldn't do much to him, right? But he couldn't risk ignoring him, just in case he tried something sneaky... Besides, a cub shouldn't be wandering out here all alone. Angu wandered over to him, intending to send him home where it was safe.
"Hello there little one, shouldn't you be with your mother?"

Fenris was snapped out of his thoughts by a strong voice, a male lion. He focused his eyes on the male. A wound on his face and a cut on his leg- could this be the male that had beat up his mother?
"My mother..." He chuckled. Perhaps the laugh would seem familiar to the male- it sounded much like his mothers, only his was friendlier. "Mumsy dearest," he said sarcastically, "is wounded from a fight last night, I'm just getting out of there for a bit. Tension's so thick there you could cut it with a claw," Fen said, getting into better talking range with the male, then sitting down, looking up. Whoever this was, he sure was strong looking. Fenris was more than sure that if he turned violent, Fen could outrun him. He was a speedy little thing.
"Name's Fenris, Fen for short," he introduced, offering out a paw. He was indeed getting weirder by the day with his habits, but by no means meaner like his mother. The only one in the world he hated was Sukari.

"A fight you say?" He asked curiously, wondering if this could possibly be the offspring of that angry lioness. "She wouldn't happen to be brown, grumpy, and have a scar under her eye, would she?" He asked, eying the cub suspiciously. He didn't look much like her, but he could see that the cub carried some of her markings.
"It's nice to meet you, Fen." He said simply, glad that he was more friendly than his mother, "My name is Angusho, but you can call me Angu if you like."

"Yeah, she didn't say much about the fight. She only said that it had been a close call, then she kinda fell asleep. Slept or fainted, I wasn't sure, but dad took care of her," Fen told him.
"Yup, that's her!" He said. "Were you the one who beat her up?" he couldn't help but ask. He tilted his head, hoping for the truth. He knew it was the male- he'd heard his mother cry out last night in her sleep something about an Angusho character, then she woke up, winced, and went back to sleep. Yes, Fen knew it was him, but wondered how truthful the lion would be.

Angu nodded, "Yes, that was me. I won't pretend that I didn't lose my temper, but from the way you talk about your mother, you don't seem to like her too much either." He shook his mane and sat down, not at all ashamed of fighting the lioness. He knew quite well that he had no choice, and he was now more glad then ever that he decided not to kill her. Had he known she had a family, he wouldn't have hesitated before letting her go, he'd just have let her up and made sure she left.
"I apologize if what I did is making life difficult for you, but she left me no choice." He wondered how well he and his family were getting food with his mother injured... "I'd offer to catch you something, but I'm a lousy hunter."

Fen tapped Angu on the forleg- the uninjured one- jokingly. "Ah, don't worry about it, I'm sure she had it coming to her. I'm not particularly fond of her. While she's nice to my brothers and my dad and I, she's mean to everyone else. It makes me mad, makes me not like her. Maybe I'm as bad as she is, but... Perhaps it'll soften her up, maybe it'll even make her let Ryega go!" Fen said. His whole face lifted at that idea. "Ryega's a wild dog, mom keeps him as a slave. He's been doing more hunting since mom came home all torn up last night." He couldn't help but wonder...
"So it was you who put that huge gash down her front leg too?" he asked. It was really big, if it had been this lion, he must be extremely strong. Fen didn't know that Sukari had done it to herself when she got out of danger's way, and not quite home. "It was still bleeding this morning, all the other ones have stopped but that one." He told Angu, wondering if he cared to know.

Angu laughed a bit, "Well, as long as it's not just me that she has a problem with." He smiled, "I'm glad that she's at least kind to her family though." His eyes widened with curiosity when he mentioned the wild dog, "A slave wild dog? Why does she want a slave? She's quite strong enough to hunt for herself. Normally that is."
Angu shook his head, "No, I did not touch her leg. It must have been some other creature." He wondered what would attack an injured lioness. Surely she hadn't been foolish enough to provoke something else on the way home?
"If it's that bad, she must have barely escaped with her life..." He almost felt sorry for her, going through so much in one night. She deserved it the first time, but not even she deserved to be attacked again.

"I don't know why mom wanted a slave." Fen thought, puzzled. This was something he hadn't pondered ever before. "She's had him as a slave since before I was born, he's done nothing wrong. Apparently she pup-napped him. Can I tell you a secret?" Fen asked, eager to share his private plan. "We're gonna break him out. Me and Ryega, we're going to get him free." A determined look spread happily across his face at the thought of ending Ryega's sufferings. Mom rarely let him sleep, and definitely not let him get enough of his kills.

Angu snorted indignantly at the thought of it, "I can't believe her... Taking advantage of a pup like that." He gave the cub a smile though as he told him his plan, "I won't tell. I'm glad you're going to help him, don't get in too much trouble though."
He thought for a minute, what if he helped them? He could sneak back here sometime to help them... "If you'd like me to, I can help you set Ryega free." He offered, "If your mother catches you, it'd be best if there was somebody to protect Ryega. I doubt she'd attack you, but if she treats him so unfairly... I don't want him to get hurt trying to escape."

"We've got it perfectly planned, though," he said, determined to do it on his own. "She goes out for training sessions, she's gone for about half the day when she does, plus she goes far away, I don't know to where, but I know where she doesn't go. We're gonna run and play escape. If she's catching up, I'll peel off, she'll try to get me to come home before she does Ryega, giving him a chance to get away. That's worse-case scenario, though, I doubt she'll even be around when we do it.
((I can't have Angu do it unless there's still a way to have Fen get split from everyone else, fall into some rapids, get konked on the head to get amnesia, etc. (He's got a really full plot. XD)))

Angu was glad to see the cub so determined to succeed on his own, and didn't press the matter, "Well alright then, you sound like you have things under control. Still, if you need me, I'm not too hard to find." He said with a wink.
"So, is your mother expecting you back any time soon? I don't want to get you in trouble."

"I don't think I'm expected back anytime soon, just by sundown. She gives me pretty much free reign, I go where I want for the most part," Fen thought- had she said anything? No, she hadn't, he was sure of it.
"Well, I apologize for my mother's actions," Fen said, guessing that the wound on the male's leg and the cut on his cheek had been carved by Sukari. "I'm sure you did absolutely nothing wrong, she's usually the instigator in these sorts of things," He looked around, wondering if this was where the battle had happened.

Angu smiled, "Good, the last thing I want is to get you into trouble." He flicked his tail a bit to one side, his body hated sitting still for this long, but his mind wanted to stay and talk with this cub for a bit longer.
"Thank you, but it was no fault of yours." He assured Fen, "You're right, mostly. I didn't start it, but my temper didn't help matters. I'm to blame for the fight as well." He glanced around, as if afraid that Sukari would appear from behind a tree at any moment. It was a strange paranoia; he was rarely afraid of anything, and he knew very well that she wasn't likely to attack him any time soon, but he couldn't help but feel that she would not be happy with him talking with her son.

((Sorry this took so long, I needed an RP break for a day or two.))
Fenris noticed Angu's caution, and he took a look around too. Perhaps the male sensed something dangerous out there, like an angry god... He hadn't ever met one, but he really truthfully didn't like the sound of it.
"So are you a wanderer? Or do you have some pridal lands somewhere nearby?" Fen asked, but continued before Angu could possibly answer, "We're meandering around waiting for a pride to form, Mom's getting some position of power... She couldn't resist the offer."
