Name: Kusinagi Medixia
Clan: Kusinagi, known for general medical knowledge, herbs, and salves

-Appearance-


Height: 150 cm

Weight: 49 kg

Hair: Medixia wears her dark, blue hair in two, round balls on either side of her head, slightly to the back, no hair coming down in pigtails. Her bangs are neatly combed so they sweep past her eyes and don't obstruct her vision.

Eyes: Medixia's eyes are a pool of soothing violet.

Clothing:
Medixia wears a rather simple shihakusho. There are two special things to note to distinguish her shihakusho from the rest. The first is a very intricate design of butterfly wings below her collarbone on either side. They are a gentle blue with black fringe highlighting blotches of blue and white. The second is that her zanpakutou's sheath is built into her right sleeve. Other than that, she does take some liberties with her shihakusho that are of no special attention. She wears pearl colored gloves to highlight her stud pearl earrings, and a gentle lavender sash rests along her waist.

When entering the real world, she prefers a rather simple style. She'll usually wear some purple slacks and gentle violet pull-over. She still wears her pearl studs and pearl-colored gloves. She also seems to wear teal-colored boots.

Physical Description:
Medixia appears to be in her late teens. It's hard to tell how old she actually is with how short and light she is. She maintains tanned skin which can seem highlighted by the pale tones she prefers to dress in. She can sometimes be seen with loose twigs and grass in her hair after she spends hours looking for roots and herbs for medical salves. She can sometimes be mistaken for an airhead because of her prefered style fo dress, but the dirt she can be covered with can also reflect a tomboyish appearance. As far as maturity goes, she's at that stage of almost breaking the twenty-year-old mold. The problem is...she knows it.

Background:
Medixia doesn't reveal too much of her past. What her personality reveals tells some of the story. She was raised around all things medicine. She learned how to use anything she came across in the wild for just that. She also learned what plants can paralyze, poison, and kill. As such, she is perfectly suited for medical and support. Considering her wicked temperament, one has to wonder about her family background. This, along with how she died, are touchy subjects that none could dare pry from her. She doesn't want anybody to know how she died, but all signs point to an accident. She did have a loving family, and she seems determined to find them in the Rukongai.

After she died, there is less mystery. She wound up in District 58. While not the most violent district, it wasn't the most friendly. She was highly regarded by everybody in that district, and even some of the surrounding districts. Whenever there was a fight, it was often her services that were called upon. She was a skilled healer. Such notice did not escape the eyes of the Seireitei. One day, a shinigami was sent to investigate her. Her reiatsu, though not as impressive as others, was enough to warrant bringing her to the academy.

Personality:
Medixia has a kind exterior, often clashing with her boughts of temper. She can be sweet and kind one moment and pummeling some sense into you the next. She has unparalleled intellect, which is a must for taking proper care with roots and herbs. That said, crossing her is a dangerous proposition. She might not look it, but she can lay a good smack-down on anybody getting on her temperamental side. She also has this thing about manipulating anybody, male or female, who seems the slightest bit attracted to her.

Other: Medixia is skilled with plants and can make medical salves or poisons with them.

Zanpaktou Name: Chouchou (Butterfly)

Zanpaktou Call: Hirahira tame Aozora, Chouchou! (Flutter to the Blue Sky, Butterfly!)

Zanpaktou Appearance:
Chouchou has a very short grip ending in a ring and no crossguard to speak of. Including the straight-edge blade, the entire zanpakutou is barely sixteen centimeters long. There is nothing terribly unique about this zanpakutou except it being extremely short and having an intricate thorny-rose design etched along the blade.

Zanpaktou Type: Kidou, Effect

Zanpaktou Soul:
Chouchou is certainly odd. She is a giant panda, nearly twice the size of average. She looks as one might expect, but the chosen name doesn't seem to fit. She is often seen carrying bamboo around, some crumbs even sticking to her fur. She wears a lazy gaze in her violet-hue eyes. Though she doesn't look like she could or would do much, she can and will when necessary. Unlike Medixia, she's more interested in taking things one, small step at a time, and she can rarely be pushed into doing anything any faster. Strangely enough, Chouchou has butterfly wings protruding from her back. Her wings are beautiful, spanning nearly one-hundred centimeters, and look exactly like the embroidery on Medixia's gi.

Shikai:
Medixia loops her finger through the ring at the bottom of the zanpakutou while simultaneously clasping its grip. When she pulls her hands apart, a long chain forms between the ring and grip. What follows is a more interesting transformation. Around the chain form six sections of reinforced wood, and each section looks like it can be fastened to each subsequent part. When the transformation is complete, sections one and six are each lined with six deadly blades dripping in poison. Section one holds a strong paralyzing agent. Section six holds an intoxicating venom. Either way, her one weapon has transformed itself into something that can be used as either a two-handed weapon or a daisho weapon, based on if the sections are fastened together or not.

Healing Art # 1, First Lesson Of Healing
Effect: User places both palms on wounded being. The user recites the Kidou's incantation, and the energy put into the technique is converted into healing chi to cause the hurt person to become healed. Fairly basic technique, and allows for most younger shinigami to heal themselves and others when they are beginning their quest in becoming a Shinigami.

Sai, is a low level Kidou that forces the targets arms behind them, preventing them from using them. This spell is good for Shinigami that would prefer to restrain the opponent, but generally only works against weaker opponents.

Effect: The caster channels reiatsu to slightly shield from enemy attacks. The only obvious indication this spell is in effect is when first cast. The caster is surrounded by reiatsu for an instant before it fades. After that, the caster can ignore 1 + 2 per 10 kidou damage dealt for 5 rounds.

Medixia sparred with Haro and lost, a fairly predictable outcome. She did apply some salves. [530 experience]

Medixia managed to learn only one kidou, Ranboukaze. She did get started on Ichiban a Chiyu, but the students were called to fight before she could. [315 experience]

Teal Salve
A repugnant smelling salve used to stop bleeding. If given time, it can help the body seal a wound and heal. It does not restore health or blood lost.

Green Salve
A minty smelling salve used to treat bruising. When applied, it only takes minutes to repair gently damaged tissue and muscle. It's great for preventing clotting which can complicate drastic bruises.

White Pill
A rather nasty tasting pill primarily used to treat dizziness and feelings of being lightheaded. It uses ingredients that help the body maximize blood cell reproduction and distribution. It does not staunch bleeding or heal wounds.

Seireitei Training on the Hill
Being the new girl, I guess I missed something. They bring me into the Seireitei then it enters lock down! Gah... I don't know what's going on, but it seems kind of ridiculous to send a totally new student to the top of the hill generally used for execution. I'm just a lowly student, so I better get marching. The climb was exceptionally harsh. I swear they know how to make this stuff as hard as possible! It's good exercise, but it's flat-out ridiculous! Gah... Anyway. I did get to the top of the hill, apparently after all the excitement. I started seeing other students with armbands labeled with numbers. I got the names of four of them rather quickly. Shunketsu, Haruko, Hikari, and Haro. That's the order I met them in, after Shunketsu and Haruko made themselves all bloody in a spar. Yes! It was a spar! Don't these people know not to bloody up your allies? Gah...

Anyway. I applied the teal salve to them, and Haruko was smart enough to head right off to the medical tent. They should be able to do more for her than me. Shunketsu was another story. He was barely injured, so he was able to pick up some bokken and immediately spar Hikari. Now I'm not one to pass up an opportunity for some exercise. I finally managed to get Haro to agree to spar me. I lost, but it was a good opportunity. I don't even think I got to hit him, but that's not the point. After teasing him for a bit after the fact, he went off to his own little world. I went to tease Shunketsu, who had fallen asleep. He is so putty! I'm pretty sure I can get him to do whatever I want. He did tear my sash! Gah... I don't like having to replace my lavender sashes.
