It's my favorite book of all time! Seriously, I've reread it over five times; I really want to see the movie! Has anyone here read it?

Well, it's five hundred pages and it's about a girl growing up in Brooklyn, New York before the first WW. It starts when she is eleven (occasionally flashing back when she was younger, or giving chapters about her parents) and ends when she is -I think- seventeen. It's a really good story, very realistic!

Dang, a thousand pages? I've actually never read a book that long. Is it actually a very interesting book or is it like J.R.R. Tolkien's books? Very long, tedious writing that describes every little thing?

Tolkien? No, no, no! It's a character story for one thing, not a fantasy story, so the detail isn't as important. It really more goes into the detail of the girl's life. I wouldn't say it describes everything, but it's not as to the point as John Grisham. Let's just say, you won't get bored from all the words. ^^

Hmm...before WW you say? I'd love to check that out. I'm a sucker for books that have a little bit of a war or war in them. Need to check that out at the library.

If A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is sort of like those books, then I'll like it... x_puppeteer_x_doll_x Gah, I'm such a baka! I got it confused with this other book I just read. It's only five hundred pages. Oh well, but that's more in page usual range. Hey...my library has this book... <.<
