Thank you Loves2read for the instructions!
HOW TO TAKE A SCREEN SHOT:
FIRST - you need to have the program that you are going to "paste" it into open. The most common application to "paste" it into is PAINT. To find your "PAINT" program, click on start and go to ACCESSORIES in there you will see the program, launch it.
SECOND - go to the stats page, once you have it open, hold down the CONTROL key (Bottom left of keyboard says "Ctrl" on it). While holding it down hit the PRINT SCREEN KEY (Top right of keyboard 6th key in, says "Prnt Scrn" on it.) It will seem like nothing happened - don't worry.
NEXT - go to your PAINT program and click on the EDIT tab, select the option "PASTE" You will see a picture of the "SCREEN" appear in the program. You will note that a picture of your entire screen has been taken, to edit out the unnecessary areas, click on IMAGE and choose CROP (If IMAGE does not have CROP option you simply select the Rectangle that is on the top right of the icons that are on the left). The curser tool will change, go to the area of the picture that you want to preserve. Hold down the left mouse button and pull on a diagonal, you will notice that a rectangle is formed. Use this rectangle to frame the area that you want displayed (ie: your fishing stats that are displayed at the bottom of the page). When you have completed the rectangle go to FILE and click on NEW. (don't worry about saving the old one, but if you are unsure, then save it and create a new window) In the new window click on EDIT and then PASTE. You will see a screen shot of your stats.
LAST - to post your screen shot you need a hosting program, the EASIEST one to use is photobucket because it is embedded in the Gaia Message area. Click on POST A REPLY in the thread where you want to post your screen shot. Under the buttons you will see a link that says "Add Image or Video from Photobucket.com" Click on that link. If you don't have a photobucket account, you can make one, they are free. After signing into photobucket, you will see an area where it says "BROWSE" in the POST area, click on that and find the file that is your screen shot. Click on OPEN. You will see the link next to the BROWSE area, click the button just below where it says UPLOAD. You will then see the picture appear just below the browsing area. click on that so that it has a black frame around it. As you scroll down, you will see an option to "LINK IMAGE" press that button and you will see the link appear in the text box of your message. Place your message either before or after the link and hit submit. YAY you have posted your screen shot.
Don't be intimidated by the length of these instructions, Loves2read has gone into detail in the hopes that it will make it easier for you.
GOOD LUCK
If anyone has any further recommendations or instructions, feel free to post!

Those are great instructions for the PC... but they don't work so well for a Macintosh. surprised
For a screen shot with the Mac there is a utility called "Grab."
It is installed with the system and can be found on this path under:
Applications > Utilities > Grab
1. Open Grab (located in /Applications/Utilities). 2. Choose Capture > Selection. 3. Move the pointer to a corner of the area you want to capture. 4. Drag the pointer across the area and release the mouse button.
Grab captures the part you selected within a few seconds. A new window appears with the image of the selected area.
Grab saves screen shots as files in TIFF format. If you want to use your screen shots on the web, in email, or in a word processor, you can use the Preview application to convert the TIFF files to other formats, such as JPEG or PICT.
1. Open Preview (located in Applications) and choose File > Open. 2. Locate the file you want to convert and click Open. 3. Choose File > Save As. 4. Choose a file format from the Format pop-up menu and click Save.
For the web, you'll either want a GIF or a JPG.
Then use Love's directions for the rest of it.
Hope this helps some other folks out!
