They just seem to focus on those who already know the stories. by assuming this factor they leave big parts of the story unexplored.
Also they know how to waste most of their money on special effects when it should be going to better writers.

I think most of the time movies made from books leave major plot points out. They did that in LotR too. It's annoying, but I guess sometimes it's necessary to cut down on the length of the movie.
I'd have to agree that they needed a better writer, or director or whatever. And the special effects didn't really even resemble what happened in the book. Hopefully they'll have a better director for the next one.

i thought the last one was pretty good. sweatdrop anyway they switched the director from the first two in the last ones, resulting in the more dark atmosphere. also i would think if they assumed people knew the basic story they could go into new details in new areas. and does anyone else remember how awesome the first dumbledore was?

Don't even get me started on those. gonk (Btw, I read an article somewhere about the Golden Compass in wchich the producers actually admit that they plan to mess with the books' religion theme so it's more acceptable and PC. ) I suppose the only positive thing about fantasy movies is that they make people read books. Thank you. I hate how ridiculous those movies are. They're quite terrible. The script sometimes is just so stupid. And the acting can be quite appalling. The special effects take a lot of resources from the rest of that movie. I remember watching a commercial for one of the earlier movies and it looked like Harry and Ron were sitting behind bushes made out of foam.
