 How lovely this untamed land was, especially from this glorious viewpoint miles above the ground. Delicate wings tilted every so often, adjusting to the wind's every demand as Setsumi scaled to new heights. Sharp green eyes scanned the details of the mountain range, taking pleasure in all the sight and sense of freedom they brought with them. A sort of promise for all those who dared to tread this land. A promise she wanted to venture for the rest of her natural life.
Violet tipped wings lifted and arched as the female made to land, gliding slowly for an opening. She weaved just above the treeline, claws occasionally reaching out to brush against the pine tops. Eyes soon caught sight of a tight spacing between the lush green trees, and she decended lower towards the spot. With a swish of her wings, the air batted around her until her hind legs touched ground securely, front limbs soon joining. Aww yes, what a glorious location for the wild at heart. Giving her banded tail a good flick, she marched forward to explore.

Creseyda shook her head and snuffed, warm air rushing from her beak. She stirred and rolled to her other side, wondering what had disturbed her.
A moment later she heard again... the sound that had stirred her. It wasn't loud or troubling. It was just different from the sounds usually made near her den. She stood to investigate.
Her feet padding on the dusty rocks, she looked down through the trees just below her den. Amidst the green needles there was the flash of blue and red. A moment later she was able to discern the shape. Another griffin. She hadn't seen one in quite some time.
She had been alone so many years, she'd have forgotten what she looked like if she hadn't had a crystal clear lake nearby to see her reflection. Her heart was torn. Should she remain hidden, hoping not to be seen? Or dared she make contact, possibly meeting someone to help keep her company.
She made a decision, and immediately jumped, spreading her wings. For an instant she hungin the air, then she dove straight down, landing with grace near the other griffin. She put her forefeet out to bow low, to show she wasn't aggressive, but kept her head up, watching just to be safe.

Ears had turned back at the familiar sound of wings, and Setsumi glanced just in time to see the other land. More curious than nervous, she tilted her head as she took in the sight of the other. A bow was given, and with her beak clicking, she repeated the action to the pale female. How interesting, this gryph had a crown of black tipped feathers. A nice display. Setsumi squawked a welcome to the other, wondering if and how the other communicated. Tail swished behind her happily.

Creseyda approached slowly. The other griffin was definitely friendly. Her tail swished hopefully in response to the same action from the other, and she ruffled her wings for just a moment. She padded forward and brought her beak close, sniffing the stranger.
She had so many more colors than Creseyda did in her feathers. Beautiful swirls and patterns in her fur and feathers. She found them fascination. She squawked quietly, then twittered out her "name" as used among griffins, the sound that identified her.
