And I'm gonna compete if I don't go haywire first xp . So, anyone else out there going? If so, what region and what instrument? Or, you can just talk about other similar try-outs that make you want to scream... I'm from Region 18, and on bassoon.
Isn't it strange? The middle school music was really easy, and then suddenly, POOF! really difficult music suddenly popped up out of nowhere.

First year of Middle School was easy, second year harder. Freshman year. @.@ Region 18, I think were Region V, good luck to you! blaugh

I know exactly how you feel. Earlier this year I had auditions for different enssambles and I wasn't worried until I realized I had exactly one week to perfect my audition solo!

I'm a region (i think) 24 trumpet.. Made 19th out of 44, not bad for a freshman against seniors, juniors, and a few sophs/freshman.
And then at the 9th grade band tryouts I got 18th out of seventy something. I guess that's alright but I was pretty pissed I didn't make the band after pretty much everyone said I was a "sure shot". ):
We played cuts from Wurm Etudes 23 and 31. On Etude 23 there is a 15-measure 8th note run and I flubbed twice, minorly though. 31 is a slow, piano peice and due to killing my lip on Tuesday (allregion tryouts) I kind of squeaked out a note at the beginning. Everything else was smooth sailing.
Any other region 24's out there?
