Gender: Male
Element: Boar Meat
Job: Unknown
Personality: He's vicious to most he knows, and a lot of people he doesn't, but occasionally if he finds someone he agrees with, Akilah for example, he'll seem a bit calmer. Despite any calm mood he might show, he's usually still searching for a chance to find out what what's inside a person.

Picture unavailable - Carrie Russo
Calm, reserved, slightly clueless. One sister, Ul Russo. More coming eventually

User Image
Duncan - Age 17
Alright, so he's not really family. Only lives in the house on weekends, during the week he lives at the Banir apartments with his.. Let's go with foster parent, an older demon named Ramiro. He doesn't really like Jack, more because the child tends to shred his scripts than for any personality conflict. No one seems to know much about his past.

User Image
Cassidy - Teen
A little irish vampire. How she came into Carrie's care is quite a long story, but she doesn't seem to interact with the others much, well, unless you call tricking them interacting. She doesn't seem to like Jack much, slightly frightened by his aggressive behavior and constant... Well, biting.

User Image
Sanjay - Adult
This one is quite the character. Though he's the oldest charge in the house, he certainly doesn't act it, quite the opposite actually. He loves pulling pranks, nearly got an ear bitten off by Jack for one of em, and is generally.. A clown. He's not around too often, but when he is, he makes his presence known, very known.

User Image
Deidre - Adult
Dee (Never call her that to her face), was originally one of Ul's charges, but she moved in with Carrie in hopes of finding a little more peace and quiet. Well, that was a bust. It turns out she finds Jack even more annoying than most of Ul's kids put together! But deep down, she kind of likes his attitude.

User Image
Brooke - Chick
Probably the most reserved one in the house, she still has her moments. She's got quite a temper for her size, and if provoked by Jack, she will fight back, full force. He's got quite a few nips to prove that. Hopefully she'll find better ways to express her anger by the time she's bigger than him, which might be soon.

Evil x2 - Akilah and Jack - Pt 1

[x] Akilah
[x] Jack

Quote:
Today was a good--no, great--day for our dear, sweet Kilah. Without Lucky's knowledge, she'd managed to get ahold of more daggers and a simple kitchen knife (just incase). While she couldn't see them, she'd been told they were "gorgeous", and had to agree.

Currently, the Sin'aeis resided just outside the mansion, leaning back on the feathery bundle that was Gizmo who curled up behind her, appearing to be sleeping. The girl, however, was wide awake and playing an unusual song on that guitar of hers, humming along with it.

Quote:
Carrie trudged up the walkway, wrestling with the thing strapped to her back. She'd known he was eccentric, but psychotic, not so much. At the moment she had him muzzled, well, it resembled a muzzle, in truth it was more like a surgical mask, he just hadn't figured out how to take it off yet. The upside, as long as he kept it on their wouldn't be anymore biting incidents. "What am I going to do with you?" She asked, looking around for any signs of life.

Jack wriggle free, obviously hating the way she had his arms wrapped up and stuck down this way. "Aeuuh" he whined, thumping his little fists on her back. Even worse, he hated not seeing what was ahead.

Quote:
More babies, hm? Yes, Kilah could hear them, quite well infact. This one certainly sounded fussy, but she thought nothing of it. Even though the Sin'aeis tended to be smarter than babies of other types she knew, a baby was still a baby.

And a baby was a very, very stupid thing.

Gizmo''''s eyes opened slowly and focused on the newcomers, his head lifting to get a better viewpoint. "Wark..." The one thing he could say, though Kilah seemed to translate it into entire sentences.

"I can see them," she answered before continuing her humming.

Quote:
Carrie stopped, her attention sparked by what sounded like a chirp. Upon closer inspection she noticed a girl there as well, maybe she''''d know what to do to calm him. "Hey! Miss!" She called, holding up his blanket, "Do you know anything about this?" Far as she could tell this is where he''''d come from, someone had recognized the style of it, mentioning something about the boar symbol. She sped up her pace, making her way toward them.

Jack gave a little growl, shaking his head violently to try and get the mask off, though he succeeded only in getting it turned to a weird angle, one strap having fallen off his little ear. At least this way he could chew on the edges.

Quote:
Twitch.

Miss?

Maybe Gizmo wasn''''t the only one who thought he was a dog. A low growl rose not from his throat but that of the Sin''''aeis. The music she was playing became increasingly...dark before stopping suddenly. "It''''s Akilah, lady."

Had she been in a worse mood, "lady" would''''ve probably been substituted with a few other choice words. Jeesh, you''''d think people could notice it by themselves. It wasn''''t like her eyes ever focused on anything, and they were weird looking as it was! Her pupils were really small or something, she''''d heard.

"I can''''t see what you want me to explain to you, lady, I''''m blind. You need help with your little brat, I''''m guessing?"

Quote:
Carrie blushed, "I''''m sorry, It''''s just. AH! Jack stoppit!" In truth, the only reason she knew his name was because it had been sewn on the inside of his blanket. Well, she assumed it was his name, well, it''''d work. She cringed, "I wouldn''''t call him a brat, more like an adorable bundle of destruction."

The cause of her outburst was that he''''d managed to grab ahold of her hair, it was so much more interesting that the mask, it made noise! "Ahhb" He yelled, giving it a hard tug that nearly brought tears to her eyes.

Quote:
"Yeah, well, I don''''t really give a ******** either-" As if she''''d just realized something, the girl stopped, and indeed, that was the case.

"Jack?" She repeated, obviously interested. She''''d heard that name before, though she couldn''''t remember from who, she''''d remember what they''''d said. Talked about him, him being mean and being like her--"like Akilah"--but...

He had been around before her, and she''''d never actually seen him. After a while, she guessed he was either dead or just some made up story, but here he was. Judging by what she could hear, whatever had been said about him was indeed true.

And funny. Very funny. Laughing slightly, she nudged Gizmo in the side and said to no one in particular, "The first baddie is still a baby, what the hell happened there, I wonder."

The next time she spoke, it was actually directed at someone. Mainly, this lady she didn''''t know. "Sure, lady, whatever. He''''s a Sin''''aeis, that symbol I''''m sure you see on his blanket, which is what I assume you''''re talking about, is what food he came from."

That felt weird to say.

Quote:
Tired of being used as a horn, she pulled him out of the carrier and set him on the ground, feeling like laughing when he couldn''''t even sit up on his own. So much for the terror. "Oh.. A boar then? Interesting, well, I''''m also guessing he''''s carnivore." She settled on the ground, though she had the distinct feeling she should leave.

Jack whined, even cried a bit, annoyed at having lost his toy, and even more so about being left on his back. He wiggled his arms around, trying to roll himself over, and eventually sit up. "Uuuah!" He screamed, pounding a fist on the ground. [Translation: -swearing-]

Quote:
"You can go away." That''''s what her voice said, but her tone was obviously something more along the lines of JUST "go away". Adults were worse than babies, more so when those adults were ''''protectors''''. From what Kilah had learned, they were nosey by nature, and she hardly felt they were nesscary.

Even if she chose to stay, it was obvious Kilah would ignore her. If she did leave, though, it would certainly make things more interesting. "Quit wailing, Jack." Had they known her, they would''''ve been aware it was unheard of for Kilah to call a baby by their actual name these days. "If your protector goes away I''''ll show you something pretty."

The last part was whispered to only him. Yes, pretty. Pretty sharp.

Quote:
She blinked, though she seemed a bit cheered by it. "Oh. Um, alright. Are you sure? He''''s a bit of a handful." Without waiting for an answer she picked up her bag and jogged toward the building, going to see if their was anyone there a little more inclined to answer her questions.

Jack watched her go, then it dawned on him this person might be able to take the mask off. So naturally, he put on his best (He''''s just a baby afterall) good little boy act, motioning to the evil thing, "Aaah." [Translation: Please.]

Quote:
Under her breath she grumbled, "Thank God." It was so much better when the protectors were gone. Far gone. But when it came to baby Sin''''aeis, they never wanted to leave them (or if they did they were hesitant about it). The fact she rushed off normally would''''ve surprised Kilah, but this was Jack, and she knew better.

Knew better than to buy into his sweet little act as well. "Don''''t even try it, Jack." Saying his name twice was more acknowledgement then she''''d given a lot of other babies...and older Sin''''aeis, for that matter. "I know all about you, and whatever you want me to do, I''''m not doing it."

Not yet, at least...

Quote:
He pouted, letting out a little growl. That would have worked on one of the girls at his new home, but this one seemed to see right through it. He''''d managed to pull himself into a sitting position, though it was still shaky. "Naaaak." [Translation: No fun]

Quote:
Who knew why, but Kilah seemed to be able to at least get the basic idea of what the other was saying. There was an odd connection to him she felt right away. It wasn''''t friendship or anything of that sort, because stuff like that was pathetic and for those retarded, angsty movies, but there was something. Perhaps an immediate rivalry, she wasn''''t sure.

"You''''d be very surprised." Saying this, she smirked, shrugging her shoulders as both hands moved into her pocket. The first was pulled back out holding a lovely little mostly-white package of cigarettes. Tearing it open with her mouth, she managed to grasp one, let the pack drop, and held the one she had out toward Gizmo demandingly. "Light it."

He whined, but did so, and once it was settled comfortable between her teeth, the girl held her other hand up to reveal a small dagger. The end was decorated with interesting markings. "Tell me, Jack, what do you think of this?"

Quote:
"Haaaaa" He squealed, eyes wide in amazement. He reached his hand out to try and touch it, forgetting all about the mask that had been bothering him so much. It was pretty.. And he wanted it. With that train of ''''thought'''' he grabbed for it, ending up falling flat on his face.

Quote:
"Ah, ah, ah." She couldn''''t see it, but she knew. Knew he''''d want it, and therefore would try to take it. It was really amazing, she mused to herself, he was just as she''''d heard, and lived up to the expectations she''''d set for him so far.

Hopefully, he would completely, but he was too young to know just yet. For a baby, he was ''''impressive'''', and that was a thought that had never crossed her mind about one so young before. "You don''''t take my things." In other words, he had her approval to take anyone elses.

Normally, she wouldn''''t even think of threatening a baby, but this was a special circumstance. "My things are mine, you''''re not to touch them. When you''''re older, I might give you one." That was another first, having to think about it.

Every other ocassion she''''d said she''''d gladly hand one over, but with him she''''d have to consider it. It might be putting the few she actually considered friends in danger, and that was bad. "I''''m glad you like it, though. Let me ask you something else."

Carefully, she held the cigarette out a little, held between two fingers, far from his reach but close enough to get a good look at. "Burning someone with this sound like fun?"

Quote:
He clapped cheerfully, hoping she''''d forget her gaurd of the sharp. Unfortunately, she didn''''t seem to forget, so he''''d have to find some other sharp to trade for it. Until then, he could ''''play nice''''. "Daaai!"

Evil x2 - Akilah and Jack - Pt 2

[x] Akilah
[x] Jack

Quote:
Chuckling darkly, she placed the cigarette back in her mouth, feeling around with the hand she'd been holding it with for the dagger. Soon enough she managed to locate the blade, and made her way to the handle, by some miracle not cutting herself. "No matter how sweet you are, I won't let you have this, do you understand?"

"You're very clever," she admitted, amused. Baby or not, he really was. He was also bad. He was also violent. He was also...not to be trusted, espcially with HER things, but still better company than over half of the other Sin'aies. "It must suck, huh? Being a baby for so long."

Quote:
He wiggled his way on his belly toward her, losing his hat along the way, "Aaaigh!" [Translation: Up now] This grass didn't bother him so much as the fact that if she showed him another sharp he wouldn't be close enough to take it. She was saying something about him, that much he knew, but it didn't seem that interesting without something for him to focus his miniature attention span on.

Quote:
Speaking of hats, Kilah took hers off and ran a hand through her hair, grunting thoughtfully. Hm. Placing the hat back on her head, she finished the cigarette and tossed it carelessly on the ground, getting to her feet and stomping on it. She'd probably catch something on fire one day doing that.

"What?" Well, let's see. Babies got "fussy" for only a few reason. Hunger, boredem, or wanting to be picked up. Even if it was the first, she sure as hell wasn't about to feed him. Jack didn't seem like the type to want a nice little game of peek-a-boo, either. So, naturally, she went with the third.

With his wailing, it wasn't hard to find him even with sight, and with a warning glare she hauled him up off the ground. "If you hurt me, I'll drop and kick you. As long as you behave, I'm fine hauling your a** around."

Quote:
"Iimmah" Jack answered, though it didn't really mean anything but yep. He understood this one wouldn't be extra nice to him, but that was a bout all. With another little noise he pat her shoulder with one little hand, before his attention wandered to his hat. That's where he kept his almost sharps, he couldn't leave that behind. "Ehh!" He whined, wiggling in it's directions, one little arm outstretched.

Quote:
"Hey, stop moving or might drop you by accident!" What the hell was this kids problem? Always good to have Gizmo around. Sure, Kilah was capable of most things, sight or no, but having someone with working vision did come in handy in times such as these.

"Wark."

"Well, pick it up then!" Kilah demanded as if he'd just said an entire sentence. The griff whined a bit at the lack of appreciation, but obeyed and a second later the Sin'aeis was handing the hat to the baby in her arms. To the griff she said, "He's cool. Better than half the bitches around here...Let's steal him."

"WARK!" Came the screechy reply, her "eye dogs" eyes wide in panic.

"I'm just kidding, damn! Take everything so seriously..."

Quote:
Jack made a content noise, settling down so she wouldn't 'drop' him. He held his hat in his teeth, nibbling on it happily. "Maaih" [Translation: Mine] This one wasn't so bad, maybe she had good meat inside her. But something told him he wouldn't find out anytime soon.

Quote:
Having a faint idea what he'd meant, she chuckled with, "Yeah, sure." It was one of those times being able to see would really come in handy. It was probably be boring just standing there, but if she walked she'd probably end up tripping and falling on him, which wouldn't be good either.

Gizmo normally provided a nice direction and kept her from tripping, but she'd need a free hand to hold onto him, and it was pretty obvious she'd need both to hold the "cool", but vicious little monster known as Jack. He was certainly no Junketsu, the only other baby she'd held in her lifetime. "Let's see, hm. Do you get stories? I never did, since they seemed pointless for me, but I've got one with lots of blood and guts in it."

Quote:
He stopped chewing his hat long enough to look up at her, eyes wide with what seemed like curiousity. "Aahm?" [Translation: Ah. Aahm.] A little bit of drool rolled down his cheek as he started to blow spit bubbles, nearly crossing his eyes to try and see them. Sometimes he was clever, other times well, he was still a baby afterall.

Quote:
"Uh, right."

Usually, Kilah tried to keep such thoughts from her mind, but she couldn't help pondering how this vicious little baby looked. She'd actually heard he was cute in that psychotic run-for-your-life way.

"I wish you were older..." Her voice trailed off thoughtfully, her expression matching her tone. Did she say that? It was often that Kilah wished for something that involved someone else and wasn't 'I wish they'd drop dead' or something. Gizmo was clearly surprised, his attention only on the two Sin'aeis.

Interesting...

"It'd be interesting having an older you around. You should see all the whimps that stumble through here. Aard, Yukito. They're...icky." A proper word to use with a baby, yes?

Quote:
"Ick!" He repeated, though it sounded more like a drawn out 'Eeeek'. Honestly, it wasn't meant to be an answer, he had almost no idea what she'd said, he understood the part about himself a bit, he just liked the way the word sounded.

Quote:
"That's right." Hmm. The question now was: How easy did this kid cry? Actually, that was one of the questions, the other was her wondering how much he understood. The babies of her own kind never failed to out shine babies of other kinds, but maybe she was just biased.

"You ever flew before, Jack? Gizmo can do that. It's probably more interesting than just standing here."

Quote:
"Ohhha!" He responded, eyes wide in curiousity. He'd heard that word before somewhere, it sounded fun. Course, he didn't really know what it meant, just that the word sounded fun, like bleed. Bleed sounded fun. "Maah" he wiggled a bit, reaching one of his hands toward the griff, though he didn't move too much, slightly spooked by her threat to drop him.

Quote:
Speaking of, she had no problem using that same threat twice. "Okay, I'll show you, but don't cry or I drop you." Considering they'd be up in the air, being dropped from that far would really hurt, she imagined. Hopefully he wasn't afraid of heights. It seemed like a stupid fear to her, but that was probably due to not being able to see.

Reaching over, she grabbed a handful of Gizmo's feathers roughly, hauling herself onto his back carefully. This was a bit more difficult holding a baby, but she could manage. "Go," she demanded, kicking the creature in the side a little.

Without hesitation, the griff stepped back a few paces then took off into the air, soaring along high above the mansion.

Quote:
Alright, he wasn't quite prepared for that. Startled when they left the ground, he grabbed hold of her shirt with both little fists, shutting his eyes for a split second. Then he realized they weren't going to crash down like Cassidy did when she tried to flew, and opened them again, loosening his grip a bit. After a few seconds he'd let go completely, hoping she wouldn't do the same, and was staring down at the ground, waving a little hand to the building, "Owaaaa"

Quote:
Careless. It was to be expected. She'd admit he was cool for a baby, but he was still that. A baby. Babies could be smarter than other babies, but they were still babies. Luckily, with that thought in mind she'd expected him to let go. "Careful there."

For once, she didn't bring someone else into the skies with her with the intent of pushing them off. Gizmo normally didn't like carrying more than Kilah either, his flying wasn't that good, but a baby weighed virtually nothing to him.

"Looks pretty from up here, doesn't it? Gizmo says so."

"Wark!"

Quote:
"Iaah" Jack trailed, obviously entranced by the reflection off the river water. He pulled off his hat, digging around in it for a bottle cap he'd found. It wasn't quite a sharp, but it had enough of an edge to make Cassie cry. But, this was more important. Plopping his hat back on, if a bit crooked, he stared at the bottle cap for a few seconds before dropping it down, waving to it giddily, "Babih!" he squealed.

Quote:
She chuckled a lot, but didn't often find something amusing enough to actually laugh. Having a faint idea of what he'd done, for whatever reason it seemed worthy of laughter. "Jack, you should watch throwing things. Next time make sure there's someone to hit."

"Wark!" Gizmo cut in hurriedly, growling slightly. It only made the older of the two Sin'aeis laugh again.

"Whaaat? It's not like he isn't vicious now, I'm just helping him along is all." Her tone was much too innocent to be real, and for the outburst she kicked the griff a bit harder in the side and nodded downward.

Just as quickly as he'd taken off, Gizmo came to a landing, folding his wings and watching Kilah slide back onto the ground. Leaning in the direction she assumed was the mansion, she yelled, "Hey lady, where the hell did you go?"

Quote:
Carrie flinched, looking up from her book. Well, so much for some quiet time. She shouldn't be complaining, she'd managed to finish more than half of her assignment without interruption. Standing, she started to jog back toward the girl. "I'm over here, he didn't bite you did he? I'm sorry if he did."
Jack pouted and latched onto her shirt again, not wanting to go home just yet. Cassie was at home and she cried too much, never wanted to have any fun. And Mama always got upset and took away his sharps, "Naaaaa."

Quote:
"Like hell he did." Bite her? Rrright. Jeesh, some people! This baby wasn't bad at all! ...Well, he was, but not in the sense that this woman thought he was...or something, it made sense in her heard. Fact of the matter, she just couldn't handle him. Probably too boring, whiny, stuck-up or a mix of the three and more. "No, he didn't bite me. I wanna take him out. Like, out of this range of sight and hearing, you cool with that?"

Had Jack been older she wouldn't have asked, but it was always different with a baby. They were dependant on the nearest other person from what she could tell, and she had to admit if she was someone else she wouldn't leave a baby with her. "I'll bring him back." Eventually...

Quote:
Carrie blinked, was this girl serious? "Oh. Alright, I guess. Um, sure, why not."
"Yaaaaai" He gave a little clap. He liked this Aki person, she showed him sharps, and burnies, and she even showed him flewing. And it meant he didn't have to go home and 'play nice' with Cassidy.

Quote:
"I was hoping you'd say that." Not too much, though, if she'd said no Kilah probably would've taken him anyway. She doubted this lady could fly, and if she could Gizmo could burn her or something. Haha, that was a funny thought...

Bad Kilah, focus.

In the time it took ones heart to beat twice, they were back in the air, and Gizmo seemed to know where she wanted him to go without her even saying his name.

"I wonder what happened to your old protector, I know that wasn't her..." Protectors seemed to come and go, oddly enough. That one Nychii had left a while ago, and Noyama was still upset about it. That's why you couldn't trust them.

Quote:
Jack looked up at her, silent for a moment before he got distracted and started to baby talk again, none of it having any real meaning until he nodded, "Abah nah, ga." [Translation: Don't know, gone] He gave a little yawn, wondering whether she'd wake him up if there was anything fun.

Quote:
"The new one is better for you anyway." The old she'd heard was just as mean as Jack himself, but this new one was timid. Like a scared rabbit in backed into a corner by an entire pack of wolves. If she couldn't handle him now, one could only imagine what havoc Jack would cause with her when he could walk.

Funny thought.

"Any idea where you'd like to go?"

Quote:
He gave another little yawn, but pointed a finger off in no particular direction. Never really having been out of the house, he didn't know where he wanted to go, or even what was out there to go too. "Daw." [Translation: There] With that he snugged up against her and dozed off, flewing was comfortable.

Quote:
"Wark."

Kilah blinked, yawning a bit herself. "Is that right?" The griff nodded in response, and even though she couldn't see him do so seemed to know the answer anyway. "Well, he is just a baby."

For a short while, Gizmo flew in the direction dubbed as "daw", and then with Kilah's command (er, kick), gulided gracefully back to the ground and infront of the mansion.

It was a shame to leave him, really, but she needed to get home... plus holding him was getting tiring. "Hey lady, your babies tired. Get out here."

Quote:
Carrie shifted her the child currently in her back carrier, though at the moment it looked more like an enclosed bag, a pale blonde child covered in shadow, sleeping peacefully. She stood again, walking over to take Jack from the girl. Settling him against her shoulder, she turned to leave, then paused and looked back, "I- I think he likes you." Then she headed back for the road, careful not to wake him.
Truthfully, she could have blown a siren and he wouldn't have woken up. So far it was the longest stretch of time he'd gone without a nap, a fact that was blaringly obvious by the fact that he'd fallen asleep so easily, and now didn't even chew anything in his dreams, simply lay there looking like a little doll.

Quote:
That probably surprised her more than it should have, and she wasn't sure what to say back, so remained silent until she was positive the woman had gone. Finally she grunted a simple, "Hmm.", and then suddenly shrugged as if she'd just come to sort of conclusion about something. "Let's go, Gizmo."

Just a Little Spat? - Jack and Sjajan

[x] Jack
[x] Sjajan

Quote:
Carrie sat beside the river, watching the child curiously. One would thing he'd get tired of destroying things, but he never seemed to. She wasn't even sure why she'd brought him here again, aside from the fact that he'd started screeching the second she put him in the car to take him home again. So now, as they both sat silent, well nearly silent, she was beginning to understand what Akilah had said about him not being all that bad. Though, it was a little hard to be objective when he was shredding her summer assignment.

Jack on the other hand, was perfectly content ripping the book to shreds. It always made this beautiful shrick noise, and it never tore the same way. Some of the pages even tasted good, well the all tasted the same really, but it was all the more satisfying if they ripped clean out instead of leaving a little jagged line behind, even if they made those nice cuts. Speaking of paper cuts, by now he had quite a few, all over his hands and around his mouth, but he didn't care, it was worth the almost pleasant stinging.

Quote:
Korist was on his way to meet Alice, but his mother had made him promise to take his little cousin with him. The boy shifted her in his arms and glanced about, trying to find somewhere to leave her, Sjajan was used to being dropped off places... He grinned as he spotted a woman and her baby, setting the girl in his arms on the ground several feet away.

"There yah go, Jani, try to play or something."

Sjajan gave him a feral grin, most likely responding to the 'or something' and got to her feet, used to walking now. She toddled the last bit of the way to Carrie and Jack and tilted her head to watch him destroy the book, curious. The woman didn't seemed to care, which was strange because Indu started yelling whenever Jani did things like that.

"'Allo."

Quote:
Carrie looked up, seeming a bit relieved someone else had showed up, after all, she couldn't just stare at him all night. She smiled to them both, then turned her attention to just the girl, "Well hello there. My name's Carrie, and this is Jack. What's your name?"

Jack simply acknowledged them with a low growl and turned a bit so they couldn't reach over and take his fun from him. "Maie" [Translation: Mine] he shouted, tearing at the binding viciously.

Quote:
"Sjah-nee"

The blonde babe smiled before turning her attention back to Jack. He reminded her of Neme, although she was female and a teenager. Very territorial. She eyed the book and decided it wasn't worth a fight. It was all slobbery and stuff.

"Yorz."

Quote:
Jack nodded, she'd gotten it right, "Ya, mai." He turned back to face them a bit, just so he could watch. This one didn't seem like Akilah, more smallish like himself. She didn't seem as cool either, more no fun like.

The protector flashed a warm smile, then pulled her hair out of her face so she didn't have to keep fixing it. "That's a nice name. Who's your friend?" She asked, nodding her head to the boy that had accompanied her.

Quote:
"I'm not her friend. I'm her cousin."

Korist made a face and nudged the little girl in the back with his foot, she turned her head to bare her teeth at him and swing a small fist, which he easily avoided.

"I promised my ma I'd drop her off here. So... I'm leaving. If she's bad, you can hit her."

The boy turned and left rather quickly.

Jani eyed the boy, looking a tad bored. Yeah, she got it. His nasty, drooly book. Did he do anything else? She poked him with a foot, much like Korist had done to her seconds ago. Play? Fight? Anything?

Quote:
At the touch he dropped the book and whipped around, baring his teeth, that same blank look in his eyes giving Carrie the shivers. "Naaaaa" He snarled, reaching under his hat for one of his almost-sharps.

Carrie realized what he was going to do and snatched the hat away from him, knowing better than to look into it before she stashed it behind her back with a stern, "No." This kid was going to kill someone if she didn't keep a close watch on him.

Quote:
Instead of being frightened, Jani was instead pleased and interested by his response. Of course, if he'd hurt her, she would have hurt him back. Sjajan was not new to fighting. Instead, a grin on her face, she picked up the book, wondering if he'd attack her, or if the woman would stop her.

"Mine."

It was nice to be able to play with someone who wasn't going to wuss out. She hoped.

Quote:
Carrie looked confused for a moment, then sat back. Well, if the girl wanted to rumble they could, she'd taken away his weapons at least, even if they were just bottlecaps and other things he'd found, he could still cause some damage with them.

Grabbing hold of part of it, Jack tugged stubbornly, staring at her with a very disturbing fire sparking up in his eyes. "No. Maaai!" No one took his stuff, he didn't take other peoples stuff, well sometimes he did, but it was their own fault for not watching it close enough.

Quote:
Sjajan's smile was happy, if a little strange and she simply pulled harder, laughing delightedly. Catching the look in his eyes, her left eyebrow shot up, an imitation of her mother. She felt the same as Jack did, and didn't take things, because she was nice most of the time. But if that item was lying around... In her eyes, he wouldn't have dropped it if he'd really wanted it.

"Nuh-uh. Mine Nowwww."

Quote:
He wrenched it around, trying to break it out of her grasp. "Waa mai. Sti mai!" Despite his whole attitude, he was at a bit of a loss. Mama had taken away all of his almost sharps and now this one was trying to take his fun. Maybe he still had one with him. Wait! The pages! He reached his other hand forward, ripping the corner off one of the remaining pages. Folding it up so that the edges stuck out, he swiped it over her hand, "Mai!"

Quote:
Sjajan-Lynn stared at her small hand as blood welled up in the thin cut Jack had created. She looked at it a moment longer, then at him with a bemused expression on her face. She wasn't crying, oh no, Jani rarely cried, bu it did sting. She'd never been hurt by another Sin'Aeis before, well, other than Ancelin, but she hadn't made her bleed, and she hadn't meant to cause her pain. In her surprise, she forgot to let go of the book, and watched him with narrowed eyes. That'd hurt. Would his mother stop her from retailiating? Not truely wanting to hurt him badly, she did something her brother's did, which stung, but only caused brief pain. Jani reached forward with her other hand and flicked him on the forehead.

"Meeeen Jah-ck!"

Quote:
Carrie was by now just sitting back and working on her school assignments, looking up now and then to make sure they were both alive. This one seemed able enough to handle herself, no point in causing a fuss where it wasn't needed.

Jack jumped back a bit, nearly losing his grip on the book. He hadn't expected her to fight back, Cassie never did, Dee never did. Well, sometimes Duncan did, but still, he was bigger. Dropping the page, he brought a little fist down on her hand, trying again to make her let go. "Na meen, maai!"

Quote:
The book hadn't been a big deal to Jani until they started fighting, now she couldn't let go; she'd lose then, and Sjajan didn't like to lose much. Her face turned reddish with anger when he hit her and she launched herself at him, like she did at her siblings when they wanted to tumble on the ground and fight or wrestle, keeping a firm grip on the thing that'd started them off.

Quote:
Jostled by the sudden attack, a switch flicked on in his head, presenting itself with a snarl. He'd forgotten about the book now, but his hand remained clutched on it even as he writhed around, swinging his other fist wildly.

Quote:
Jani got his smaller fist in her jaw, and bit hard into her lip. The little girl growled and shot her own fist out, seeking his belly. This reminded her of fighting with Neme, only Neme was bigger, and had sharp teeth. It wasn't as if they were struggling over the book, rather, it was more like their hands just happened to be clentched on it during the fight. As if they'd promised to do it one handed.

Quote:
His eyes went wide as she made contact. No one had ever hitten him hard, not even Duncan. He cringed, kicking his legs out to try and knock her off and give him a bit of an advantage, if only for a few seconds. Maybe in those few seconds he could find one of his sharps.

Quote:
She made a sharp sound of surprise when he kicked her hard in the knee and rolled to one side, eyes narrowing as she tugged roughly on the book; not to take it, but to use it to pull him farther off balance. She hadn't had a good tussle in a while, and it took a little practice to get back into the swing of things, as she saw them.

Quote:
"Aie!" He screeched, losing his advantage the same second he lost his footing. It took him a moment to recover before giving a sharp tug on the cover to try and pull her to a closer range. He reached around in the grass, grabbing hold of a piece of sharpened plastic. Yes! Mama had dropped one when she took his hat. Clenching his hand around it, the pain was kind of sweet, he swung at her cheek.

Quote:
There was silence as it sliced across her face, leaving an angry cut that quickly bled, the red liquid spilling down her face. Sjajan let go of the book, a blank expression on her face as she touched the blood dripping onto her neck. The gash was surprisingly large and she forgot about the book, blinking away tears to avoid crying from the pain. She'd just been having fun with him; playing, but he'd cut her. She didn't say anything, just held her cut hand over her cheek, eyeing him carefully.

Quote:
Carrie looked up from her book, scrambling toward them when she saw the girl was bleeding, "Oh my god, oh jeez." She dropped onto her knees near them, shuffling through her bag for her little first aid kit. The thing had certainly been seeing more use since Jack arrived.

Jack sat back, breathing heavily. He'd forgotten all about the book by now, letting it slip out of his hand when he noticed the blood. It was so strange, he hurt all over, but he had a certain feeling of satisfaction when she had let go. His hands were spotted with blood, some hers, most his own, the groupings of paper cuts torn open by his careless behavior. He couldn't just sit there, that would mean no one had won, he had to win, and so, he repeated simply, "Mai."

Quote:
Jani ignored Carrie and promptly shoved at Jack, hard, breathing hard, but smiling. She planted a small foot firmly on the book, then held still, turning her face up for Carrie to fix.

"Bahn-aiz?"

She was ignoring him. See how he liked that, cutting her and cheating, that just wasn't fair.

Quote:
She splashed a bit of rubbing alcohol onto a tissue, "This might hurt a bit" and started trying to clean the cut off, mumbling something about how sorry she was for his utter lack of manners. Hopefully her parent wouldn't be too upset, she'd have to spend her whole life apologizing to everyone for him. She shot a look to Jack that screamed, apologize or you're eating veggies tonight.

Jack frowned, staring at her angrily. Why didn't she say something to him, or cry or.. Anything? This girl was weird, by now Cassie would be crying, well he'd never cut Cassie like that, he'd never cut anyone like that. So, when he caught his protector's look, he hung his head and gave a dull apology, "Sorre."

Tenshi
Tenshi walked along the path to the center with a very depressed looking Boo behind her. Tenshi had come to see if she could pick up traces or clues to Ancelin's energy trail.. Or where she could possibly be. But it seemed she was going to find something completely different. As she walked by, she heard what sounded like children screaming. And being the worry wort that she was, Tenshi wuickly ran after to investigate. Tenshi's eyes where baffled by the image before her. Two of the children where fighting. Not only that, Jani was BLEEDING?!
"What in the Ten Hells is going on here?!" she shreeked, before rushing to pick up Jani and hold her away from the woman and the other child.

Quote:
Jani sniffed, the alcohol making her wince. She continued to ignore Jack, how dare he cheat in their game? She liked fighting, and she liked normal games, but she couldn't stand cheating. Using a weapon when all she had was her fists just wasn't fair and she refused to acknowledge his apology, smiling politely at Carrie. She'd learned quickly to never offend the person taking care of her wounds.

"'Ank'oo."

At that moment Tenshi snatched her up, and overjoyed to see the woman looking decently healed, Jani threw her arms around her neck.

"Shi-shi!"

Her expression darkened and she didn't look at the boy as she solemnly told Tenshi what she was concerned about.

"Jah-ck cheeet, cuh Jah-nee."

Quote:
He gave a little growl, "Nah chee, you steea." [Translation: Not cheat, you steal] With his little arms crossed over his chest he looked more stubborn than intimidating.

Carrie stood, reaching a bandaid from her bag, "They got in a bit of a fight. It's my fault, I didn't think much of it because thought I'd taken away all of his weapons." She carefully leaned over and placed the bandaid over the cut, preparing for any wrath would face for being so stupid.

Tenshi
Tenshi watched as the woman put a bandaid on Jani's face, before hugging the child tighter to her chest, while Boo flew over head keeping his mouth shut.
"You didn't think much of it? If they where fighting you should of broke them up." She said, before looking at Jani's face, rubbing over the bandaid.
"And he had weopons? Why on earth would you give your infant a weopon?" She asked, looking to the woman in shock. No wonder Jani was hurt. She didn't know how Indu would react to this, but Tenshi was angry.

"It's okay Jani.. I wont let him hurt you no more." She said, before looking down at Jack with a frown. "I sugjest you dicipline your son.. If he is yours that is." She said, rocking Jani back and forth on her hip while she kept her eyes on Jack... She'd be sure if An ever met him she'd keep a close eye on that boy.

Quote:
Her face flushed red, "You think I gave him those things?" She snatched his hat up off the ground, dumping it out in front of the woman to show her just what she'd meant. The ground was littered with bottle caps, plastic shards, and other pieces of trash. "I take them away every time I see them, and you know what? He just finds more. She wasn't crying, they weren't yelling, he's protective of things he thinks are his, and there's not a damn thing I can do about that!" He was started to tax her patience, it hadn't been that long since she'd found him and already he was getting her in trouble.

Quote:
Jani nuzzled her blonde head against Tenshi before smiling happily. She wasn't upset any more, not really. She adored the Death Angel, and now that she was here, she was back to her cheery self. She looked at Jack out of the corner of her eye, resisting the urge to tell him that she didn't steal, but that he'd dropped the book and it was fair game. All in all though... She rather liked him.

Sjajan patted Tenshi on the cheek, trying to calm the woman and spoke, touching the band-aid.

"Jah-nee 'kay nowh."

Tenshi
Tenshi looked at the ground and all the random peices of trash, before looking back to the woman.
"So you think it's okay for your son to go around cutting other children? Just because you can't control him from picking up weopons? I sugjest keeping a closer eye on him, before he really hurts another child or even himself." She said, rubbing Jani's scalp as the little potato girl talked to her. She tried to coddle the child as she spoke in her babish jibberish, nuzzling her nose.
"You okay now? Your so brave Jani. Such a big girl! Your too strong to let one little cut bother you, huh?"

Quote:
She took a deep breath, running her hand through her hair, "Yeah, you're right, I should. And no, I don't think it's alright, but what am I going to do to stop him? Every time I try to stop him from doing something he just finds a way to snake around it that turns out worse."

Quote:
Sjajan pratically glowed under the praise and kissed Tenshi on the cheek while she spoke with Carrie. She hoped the woman didn't get in trouble, it really wasn't her fault that her son was stupid. Jani grinned and turned her head to see Jack's pouting.

"Ah wihnn."

Tenshi
Tenshi looked at the woman, before letting out a sigh. She was being too harsh. She had the same problem with one of her sons and his drinking problem. No matter how many times she tried to get it all out of the house, he'd still manage to get some.
"I think I understand, my son's an alchoholic and I can't get him to stop." She explained, before rocking Jani back and forth on her hip. She then looked down to Jack.
"Maybe he just needs to be punished more thuroly whenever he gets a weopon. My children usually stop doing something if I make them sit in the corner for an hour and then let the others do something fun." She said, after all.. They where dealing with infants. Like they said, the old ways are always the best ways.

Quote:
Carrie nodded, picking Jack up off the ground. It seemed he'd fallen asleep again, but that wasn't uncommon after he'd caused trouble, "I'll give that a shot, might have to build a cage to keep him there though." She sat down, holding him against her shoulder, placing the hat on his head in a swift movement. "Course, he'd probably find a way out of it, he's crafty for a baby."

Quote:
Jani's eyes were gentle, maybe even amused, and she leaned dangerously out of Tenshi's arms to pat the sleeping boy on the head. A wicked smile touched her lips and she pointed at the ground, blinking at Tenshi as she voiced her request.

"Muh buhk?"

She wanted her trophy.

Tenshi
Tenshi thought for a moment as she looked to the boy, before helping pull Jani back to her chest. She thought the babyw as starting to fall, not doing it on purpose.
"Maybe you could try a strait jacket? Or would that be to tramatizing for a baby.." she then looked to Jan and blinked.
"Buhk?" she questioned, before looking at the ground. "Oh.. Book.. You want the book.. Isnt' that what started this fight?" She asked, looking to the boys mother who's name she still didn't know.

Quote:
Carrie nodded, "Yeah, he was chewing on it. A straight jacket huh? I think that might be just a tiny bit too much." She was silent for a moment, "Oh! I'm sorry, I never introduced myself properly, "My name's Carrie, Carrie Russo, and this is Jack."

Quote:
"Myne, nowh!"

Sjajan thrust her finger at the book, now looking irritated. She demanded it, and Tenshi wasn't getting it for her. A small scowl settled on her lips, it was only fair for her to have it.

Tenshi
Tenshi bent over to pick up the book, before holding it up to Jan.
"You sure you want it Jani? It looks really filthy." She said. Jack was asleep.. So he really couldn't show much protest to it now. Tenshi then looked to Carrie, before bowing her head.
"My name's Tenshi. Tenshi Kuronaho. This little girl's name is Sjajan. But we just call her Jani.. She belongs to a friend of mine named Indu." She said with a nod, to clear up any confusion on her part of the matter.

Quote:
Jani was positive. The blonde grabbed the book and held it tightly, a grim smile on her lips until she yawned and rested her head on Tenshi's shoulder. She was exausted and in pain, the cut on her face throbbed, and the small slice on her hand was irritating. She wanted to leave now, with her prize, before he woke up and round two began.

Quote:
Carrie shifted Jack on her shoulder, then stood again, looking down toward the road where her minivan was parked, "Well, I'd better get going, he's going to be hungry as soon as he wakes up, and I don't want to be the first thing his teeth get to. It was nice meeting you, and once again, I'm really sorry about the way he behaved, I'll have to give that time out a try." With that and a little wave she started the walk down to the road.
