It had been a rather quiet afternoon- low key and tranquil as most everything that needed to be attended to had been taken care of and overseen by others. As Bindi remained back in heart of the packlands, Dax meandered off by himself as he trailed along the border- his icy, blue orbs glancing around and through the shadows of the closely standing pines and the gnarly shrubs that cread a safehaven and a barrier to keep the unwanted out. Only the two paths, the one that faced North and the one near the east, served as well trodded trails to the wanderers and to the vagrants who roamed the lands searching for someplace to call home. Dax had once been a vagrant, a vagabond and a renegade but he had found his own inner strength and his potential; realizing that the demon within him (the label was harsh and inacurate but that was how Davon expressed himself as- in reality he was moreso a condemned martyr) was helping him be able to fathome what he was to become and of his significant role.

He and Bindi were bringing a rise to a new generation, no- a new era of wolves who fought against totalitarianism, domination, and fought for the right.

It was true that most of the wolves in Dax's part of the pack were mercenaries, assasins, and quite skilled but each individual were fighting for the same cause, the same beliefs and the same morales. Along with Bindi's pack that focused on the family unit and raising up young pups to follow in their families footsteps, the whole pack was a beneficial, functioning society that aided one another and brought balance to both light and dark, ying and yang as some referred to it. It was a brotherhood, a union, a brigade and a legion- rebels standing up for a cause, for one another and for their allies in the persuit of obliterating those who threatened ones very way of life.

In an overall belief, the pack believed that it was better to rid of one life than letting a whole pack suffer and dwindle by one wolfs own doings and cause. Dax and his wolves broke and eliminated the chain of command and dismembered the totalitarian establishment.

It made him feel good.

The large in stature black and white swirled alpha slinked around the packlands as his ebony fur seemed to ripple upon his body while his scars kept their mark and reminder upon him of his past and his horrific brawl of flesh and blood with his own brother.

Eiros.

He still had yet to actually say anthying to his own brother and it would be a while before he could.

Shaking his head as he ridded of such thoughts, Dax gave a small yawn as his ears flickred upwards and he meandered about searching for anything interesting or a simple meal that could cross his path. He was hungry and his stomach seemed to solace a small cry for food. Furrowing his brows, the male drifted into the shadows and searched.

There had to be something he could eat.

Just a few weeks ago, he hadn't thought that his life could get any better. Granted, he had a psychotic sister out for his blood, but he had a new family, two amazing best friends, and a wonderful new home.

But it had gotten better, and the reason was walking beside him, occasionally brushing against his side. And every time that charcoal and blue fur met his red and black, he felt a tingle shiver along his spine, felt his heart skip a beat, or beat so wildly he lost his breath.

The wolf walking beside him was his mate. Just thinking it made him skip over the ground, his feet barely touching it seemed. Suddenly, he shouldered Ehrek and whispered in his ear, even though there was no one around.

"Love, are you hungry?"

Ehrek had been walking silently beside his new mate, love, and life. His tail lower than Dei's and wagging with life. He purposely bumped into the male whenever he had to 'hop' over something or just made up an excuse to touch him like 'There was a spider' or a 'puddle'. It was quite amusing being with the much larger male. His life has opened to many more possibilities. Deimos was his passport to a new life and a new family. A pack life and the members.

Upon his question, Ehrek nipped back at his muzzle and chuckled. "Not too much, I have not eaten much in my life so I have grown accustomed to not eating much at all. You will have to forgive me for that, Dei," he did not want to offend the male. His stomach has grown used to being ignored when it growled at him for food. The truth was, Ehrek was a horrid hunter when it came to getting big game and he was darn near ungraceful to catch the quick and tricky rabbit. The only time he was good at catching food was when it was distracted or already dead.

His ears flicked back before mutter, "Sorry..."

He continued to walk for a moment before looking at him again. "Dei, about this pack of yours... I am a bit nervous. I have not been in a pack for a long time, I mean, I have almost forgotten how one is set up. What will I do? Where is it? Who, other then Kek, is in it? Why... I have even forgotten the name if you ever mentioned it to me." his body frequently shook from time to time whenever he thought about the pack life. Though Deimos was his passport into this one, he was still unsure if he was ready to be moved into one again. He knew the pack was a group of loners who were hardly around but... being around others, many companies, he was not quite sure just yet. Feeling Dei's fur brush against his again, he was well assured that whereever it was, he would have his mate.

Trailing into the thick shadows of the pines and stepping with silence and precision, the alpha narrowed his icy, blue orbs to the right as the sound of a coursing river caused his ears to perk upwards and his thrist only increase followed by his hunger. Deviating to the right and through the brush, the ebony and ivory swirled male flared his nostrils as he stepped onto the banks of the river. Glancing around, Dax lowered his head as he drank silently.

Often, the wolf would wander from his packlands letting his mind and the demon within help him make sense and understand of what he must do. For too long he had known that destiny required him to become a leader- to bring rise to a new generation, a new era of blood and rebellion that would fight against those who sought to shed the innocent blood, to reign in totalitarian fashion and dismantle to hope and lives of others. He had gathered those who were willing and driven to fight for the same cause while his mate, Bindi, had gathered those who were looking to start a new begining and who were looking for somewhere, someplace to belong- to have purpose and meaning in their lives. But, as of lately, Dax couldn't help feel as if something was stirring; something was soon to commence and that gut wrenching feeling had recently made itself known.

Dax knew and so did Davon.

What must an alpha do?

Raising his head as he paced down the river, Dax wrinkled his brows as he could feel the inner demon stir within him- aware and alert of the train of thought and recollections that the alpha had been pondering.

Something troubles you? Davon cooly spoke with interest, pawing lightly within the mind of the ebony and ivory male. What do you fear?

"My dreams," Dax spoke into his mind. "These...dreams. War, bloodshed, death, abominations and damnation. I've dreamed it all- over and over again but I have no clue what the hell it means for sure. Even if my intepretation is right then we'd better damn be ready for it. I need to speak with Jaylin or Hallie and Bindi."

Ah- yes. The time comes, Dax. The time comes soon. Rebellion will be your weapon and your allies will be your shield and buckler. This intepretation, what you think it means- it needs no Seeress's opinion. It is coming. Are you ready?

"No."

Then what are you going to do?

"Allies, alliances, warriors- I need more. More strength, more blood, more devotion. We can't do this by ourselves."

Davon swirled within the mind of the alpha and caused a reassuring feeling to sweep through the male. Then find them, they are waiting.
The demon retreated into the deeper part of Dax's mind as to leave the alpha to begin his tasks to make more alliances and friends. But this was easier said than done.

Pacing alongside the river, Dax looked around as, in the distance, he heard voices. His ears perked upwards as his tail arched slightly- waving like a banner as his massive stature stood tall and alert. He furrowed his brows slightly as he continued to follow the river and the voices.

His ears fell a bit, but than perked again as he once more shouldered his mate. He had heard the sound of water ahead of them. "Let's go swim," he murmured, than added at the look on his mate's face, "I'll teach you."

It had gotten progressively warmer the farther South they went, and even though there was still a chill in the air, it had been so long since Deimos' last swim, that he was eager to get back in the water.

Aaaand . . . cuddle up somewhere with his mate to get warm afterwards.

He was shameless, and he'd be the first one to tell you.

"I have ulterior motives," he continued, stopping in front of his mate to nuzzle him and lick the charcoal and blue male's face. They were mere paces away from the water now; it churned slowly and gently, an older river that took it's time through the forest.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:56 pm

His paces slowed rather drastically when he heard the word 'swim' and the actual faint sounds of the running water of would could be a brook or a stream or a river. He was not very comfortable with that sort of water, it even took him quite a while to get used to the rain! ... to be honest, he still does not know about the snow being the frozen form of water droplets. But until the time comes, it is just snow to him.

His eyes kept glancing from Deimos to the river that was so close by. He was unsure if he was ready for any of this. A new pack where he has little knowledge of how one works now. A new family with the pack members where he has spent much of his time alone unsure how he will do with others around. And now Deimos was going to teach him how to swim? How could this be done? He has never quite swam before. He was carried across the river when he was younger and he was always sheltered when he was in the pack being the Alpha's litter...

"Deimos, I-I dunno about this... I mean..." he looked back at the red-black-white male. He looked down at his paws and then the river. With a few nervous steps, he looked down into the water, back at his reflection and it back at him. With a sigh, he turned back to his mate and smiled.

"You know, if I drowned, you'd be out of a mate for a while..."

For a moment Dax stood in place as his icy orbs seemed to trail back towards the river as his thoughts calmed and the chaos within his own mind seemed to be at ease and at rest. He clenched his jaws silently and shifted his ears as the voices drew closer and, quickly, the male pivoted to see two figures walking side by side heading towards the banks of the rivers. In all honestly the alpha wasn't in the mood to either have to be chatty (which her never quite enjoyed) or have to defend himself if this was a fiend and a lackey of one of the many wolves who seemed to note him as a threat and a danger.

If there was one thing that Dax wouldn't object to it was a good fight- which, in some cases, it seemed the male had earned his scars from being too headstrong and not backing down. It wasn't for pride, it wasn't for honor; it was to defend his name.

As the two males drew closer, Dax had decided to keep to himself and still enjoy a swim without having to cause a scene or distrub anyone. Glancing away from the two, the ebony and ivory swirled alpha stepped into the water and slowly drew himself deeper as the waters rushed against his legs and near his chest. The brisk waters seemed to sting a bit against his scarred gashes but he held his composure with poise and his stature high and with an appearance of power, honor and duty.

Dax seemed to stand there idely, looking into his reflection as a soft sigh escaped from his maw.

"The wolf I see is not the one I remember...."

Deimos has been thinking how to answer Ehrek's earlier questions about the pack, and had a plan. If he could keep the other male talking, hopefully he wouldn't be so nervous about the water. Maybe he would even forget about it.

Slowly, he walked out into the water backwards, his eyes staring directly into Ehrek's.

"Well, we are Einsame Lykos. Lost wolves. That's what Alex and I were, so the name fit at the time. I can't speak for him, but I don't feel lost anymore, though. There's Alex and Kek, Axel, Caleb, Patches, Alina, and Dia. I've only caught scent of Dia, however. I haven't met her yet.

"And the only you have to do is help us, your alphas, keep wolves in check. Report any wolves that wander in our territory to us." He smiled lovingly, his wet tail flicking water back and forth as it wagged. "And keep me company."

Suddenly, the wind changed, and Deimos grew very still, his nostrils flared. It was the same scent he'd picked up on earlier, when they had entered this section of the forest. He whipped his head around and spotted Dax farther upstream, flank deep in the water. Instinctively, his tail curled high over his back, but he didn't move. There was a chance that the deeply scarred black and white male he saw was an alpha, and they were in his territory.

Ehrek took in the information, only letting the water come up this chest and no more. He kept himself close to Deimos if something were to happen. He was not ready to die just yet, he has just started a new life for himself. The water was alright, but he could not help himself shiver, not from the cold, but from the fright that was gripping around his heart. He bumped into Deimos constantly.

"The pack sounds nice. I mean, it has a lot of members, and there are girls around so I guess it isn't a males only pack..." he glanced back at Deimos and gave the best smile he could. "I'd prefer to keep your company, but I will do what I can." he gave a nervous laugh.

Then he didn't reply. Turning around, he noticed the other male.

"Deimos." his voice was serious, defensive as he was before when they first met. He glanced around to see if there were any other wolves around. Though he may be a loner, he could be a part of a pack. If there was a pack around, it would have already surrounded them already. Being one of the North, Ehrek has never seen him before.

He shook his head as a small growl escaped from his maw.

What was he thinking? Who exactly was he suppose to be. His father? Dax respected and held admiration for Jaxom but he wasn't like him- Dax was himself and didn't want to compromise himself to please another individual or be someone he wasn't. The ebony, ivory swirled and scarred male's stature was inherited from his uncle, Damu but his heart was his own; his ideas, his logic, his beliefs and the things he would fight for and found pricess were different from any other individuals besides those who found Pandemonium as their home and looked up to both Bindi and Dax as their alphas. That rugged, large in stature appearance was his own- his views and his actions, thoughts and opinions couldn't be claimed as anyone elses but his own.

Being with his mate and lover, Bindi, Dax had learned that the only person he could be was himself.

And he shouldn't change himself to make others happy.

As he continued to stare at his reflection, the alpha flared his nostrils and shattered the surface of the water. His ears flicked to the side as his icy, blue orbs seemed to relax as well as Davon seemed more at ease and relaxed within his mind. He felt better and stepped deeper into the water as it breached upwards towards his chest- the brisk chill of the water loosening him up from being a bit too tense. Dax gave a small smile as he simply exhaled and trudged a bit deeper up to his neck.

But it seemed that the two wolves whose presence he became aware of earlier seemed to look towards him, the ebony and ivory swirled male tilted his head slightly and began exiting the waters. These lands were part of his packland yet Dax didn't feel so threatened or riled; he was curious but he could feel the fur upon his neck bristle ever so slightly.

Their scent was unfamiliar but that wouldn't keep him from finding out who they were and what they wanted.

Shaking off his fur once as it dried off slightly yet still remained damp, Dax stepped up on the banks and strode towards them as he could feel Davons influence stir within him and douse over him.

"Lost? Lookin' for somethin? How can I help you two?" Davon cooly spoke as he slipped more in control of Dax, arching his tail upwards slightly while his orbs settled on the two males.

"What brings you here?"

Deimos nudged Ehrek towards the bank, than took the lead as they headed out of the water to meet the other wolf. He was tense, but calm. The other male's questions weren't hostel, and it eased the painful tattoo his heart was rapping against his ribs.

Shaking the liquid from his fur, he stopped a few feet from Dax, dipping his head slightly in acknowledgment of what was obviously another alpha. "We're simply passing through on our way home, but were unsure if these lands belonged to anyone."

Grinning slightly, he continued. "I'm Deimos, alpha of Einsame Lykos, and this," he nodded in his mate's direction, "is my mate and beta, Ehrek."

He could have simply called Ehrek his beta, but that wasn't the first position the charcoal and blue male held in Deimos' heart; they were mates, and Deimos was proud of that fact. Damn anyone who shunned them because of it, including this male.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 11:20 pm

Ehrek stood away from the two to shake out his fur. The shake was vigorous shaking out his body from snout to tail tip of all the loose drops of water that clung to his body. After shaking off each leg, he looked over his body once, it was growing out a bit after stuffing himself some since last told that he looked as if he was dead. He knew he was a horrible catcher and hunter, but he was a damn good scavenger. The male looked over at the two alpha and quickly came over.

He managed to come in at the right moment where his mate had introduced him as his mate and beta. He knew not a lot about Deimos' affection for him, but he knew enough to be happy about his connection with the male. He glanced at the other male, one riddled with scars. He had a few himself, but most were too faint to notice. Ehrek stood close to Deimos, wagging a bit. He had no idea about how one of lower rank should act toward one above their own. He looked directly at Dax, he should not have. His tail was up and wagging when it should be lower than Dei's and Dax's. His head was not lowered nor were his ears.

For that brief moment of uneasiness, he nuzzled his head into Deimos' neck and tilted his head back to Dax.

"It's nice to meet you."

In due respect and simply to note that the stature of the red and arrayed male of black and white was easily deciphered as another alpha, Dax gave due respect as he continued to sense Davons presence and effect still take effect. It was much welcomed- Davon seemed to understand and guide the new alpha in his steps and give more in depth reason and logic to the ebony and white swirled male.

Davon helped draw a more relaxed smile across Dax as the male chuckled. "Ah- Einsame Lykos," he mused with a flick of his white tipped tail. "I've heard little of your pack but it is a pleasure none the less. These lands are the outskirt of the Pandemonium pack- I am Dax, alpha of Pandemonium." To the alpha's mate and beta, Davon lowered his head with the same respect as a mate of the alpha was seen just as high and on the right hand as another alpha to the pack.

"A pleasure, Eherk."

Although Davon was quite elegant and cool with his words, Dax was relieved as the demon withdrew his presence and let the true alpha take his authority back. Davon was good for first introductions and being stern and quite elusive but, well- Dax wanted to do it on his own sometimes and that only made Davon step back and let the alpha give it a swing.

Furrowing his brows momentarily as he shook his head, Dax regained himself.

"Where is Einsame Lykos located, Deimos? I'm curious. I've never seen the packlands for myself and I'd like to learn more about your pack if I can. I guess you can say I like to keep up on the whereabouts and status on local packs and rise of," what was the word? Oh.

"Rebellion you can say," he finished with a shrug of his shoulders.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 25, 2007 12:51 pm

One ear went back at the word rebellion, and Deimos licked his mate's ear before answering. "If I'm not mistaken, our lands are about a day's walk south of where your lands end. It's a wonder I've never caught your scent before, but my pack hasn't been in the area long."

Switching gears, Deimos slowly lowered himself to his haunches, showing with his somewhat relaxed posture that he was going to do nothing but talk. "What made you say rebellion, Dax? Is there something going on that I should be aware of?"

Ehrek simply dipped his head as a sort of bow to show respect to Dax and his Alpha Rank authority. His tail continued to wag and a soft murr escaped his throat from his mate's attention. However, that ended when the word "Rebellion" arouse from the maws of the Alpha. There must have been something amiss to be consider a rebellion... or it could have just been that the Alpha was worried about an attack upon his pack. He had a perfect reason to worry then just as Dei would. If he recalled, Kek was still in the North... at least he could hope so.

The blue hued charcoal wolf moved slowly away from the larger black male to his mate's back side. He moved carefully so that he was curled around the Alpha's back. It was not too difficult actually, he was much more open now with Dei. His tail remained still and his eyes focused on the higher ranking wolves. He knew that Dei saw him as a mate beyond his rank, but regardless, he had show respect to both higher ranking wolves. His head laid low and his ears back as he had to appear submissive as he could.

His ears, however, flicked when he heard that the border of Eisame Lykos was only a single moon away. He figured that the pack would be a cycle or two, but a moon? He was closer to the pack than he knew. But what sounded strange was this new Alpha's pack's name... 'Pandemonium'. it was a word that was in his own vocbulary and the way he knew the word was rather... eerie.
