A destroyed rocky land filled with boulders and enormous rock-structures. Many Lycanthropes have found refuge here, and live in the solitude of these ruined grounds. This area has witnesses several battles throughout the ages, and is a rather chilling place for those who cross it.

Raina stood absolutely still on the top of one of the largest rock spires. Where were they? She'd been here for a day and a half, now. Had she gotten the place wrong? No. She shook her head. This was definitely the right place. The rock spires were the easiest landmark to remember in the entire wasteland. "I'll simply have to wait and hope that nothing has happened," the Demon decided, easily jumping back to the ground and moving to the make-shift camp she'd made for herself. It wasn't the ideal place, but it was protected from both the weather and any enemies that might have decided to show up. It wasn't surprising they were late, really, she told herself, pulling a band from her wrist and typing back her hair so that it wouldn't get in her face quite as much. "After all, two of them are human," she muttered quietly. Humans were exceptionally slow travelers, compared to the other races. So, for the moment, she blame the delay on them and be satisfied.

"Not now . . . damn it, not now." Said Mystic, in the middle of a Demonic assault.
The Elf King had made his way to a scarcely found Earth Portal in the outer corners of the Light Realm. The journey was extensive, weeks in length. Tired and worn, Mystic became relieved to see a patch of blue light behind some granite structures. However, as the tired warrior made his way closer to the glow, a Demon managed to strike him from behind, sending him crashing to the ground.
"Going somewhere, my King?" Questioned his attacker. It was a bulky, fierce-looking Demon, no doubt there to attempt to assassinate him and claim the bounty. Few Demons knew of Mystic to be alive. He was greatly surprised to be assaulted at such a time. How foolish of me. I've been followed for some time now. Thought the Elf King to himself, as he lied on the hard ground, with at least five Demonic looking faces glaring down at his seemingly lifeless body.
Could be fun. Give them hope before they flee. With that thought, Mystic revealed his rather impressive acting skills and pretended try and get up, but miserably failed and shut himself back down to the ground like a magnet. His eyes closed.
"See that boys? Our days of famine our over. We'll be some of the richest men in all of the Dark Realm for this prize. What a chump. The fool calls himself the 'Elven King'. Spare me."
"You'll be spared of something." Said Mystic to himself, still playing dead. "Hey boss, I swear I just heard the Elf say somethin'." The Demon leader responded. "You're just nervous. New recruits . . . I swear." Just as the last syllable slipped out of the head Demon's mouth, another Demon looked down to see nothing there. "What the hell? Where'd he go?" The Demon pack began to look all around themselves.
"Don't take your eye off the prize." Said Mystic, floating a few feet above them with swirling wind around his body. "About your prize for my death . . . Sorry, won't happen." With that word, the Elf King pushed one arm into the air as if he was lifting something heavy. "Water style, Aqua Funnel." He said to himself, as a small tornado of water burst out from the solid ground, directly beneath the Demon pack. As Mystic floated on top of the funnel, looking down at the group swirling within it, he said to them. "I have no interest in taking your life. That would just be cruel. How about we play a game instead? First one to find the Elf King again wins a pair of severed legs. Ready . . . go." Mystic extended both arms outward, and with that motion, the funnel increased its velocity for a few seconds and sent the Demons hurling in all different directions for several kilometers.
As the water slowed down and drifted away in the form of mist, Mystic floated downwards and on to the ground once more. "I wonder who will win." He said to himself, as he stepped into the orange glow, and found himself in a barren wasteland on Earth.
I'm late. Hopefully she's still here. Searching for a Demonic energy in the far reaches of this land, Mystic found several, but only one strong, familiar one. A smile came upon his face, as he knew which direction he would then have to travel. Not wanting to keep her any longer than he already had, Mystic decided to take the express route. "Wind style, Air Bullet Barrier." He said to himself, as rapid swirling winds in all directions began to encase the Elf King's body. Soon enough, Mystic had shot off towards the Demon's direction with great speed. Making sure not to leave a path of where he traveled, the Elf flew above the clouds.
Within the hour, he could see his friend below one of the tallest rock structures in the area. Just for fun, the Elf King slowed down his speed to a creep, and flew behind her, still above the clouds so she could not see. As he slowly descended, keeping in mind not to make a sound, he closed the gap between them. Just before Mystic would have touched the ground directly behind her, he whispered, "Remember me?"

Raina didn't even blink. Even if she hadn't heard his heart beat, she felt the disturbance in the wind patterns around her. She'd known of his approach for the past twenty minutes or so. "Took you long enough, Elf," she muttered, slowly getting up, and turned to face him. When she saw him, the Demon blinked, slightly shocked. "Damn, Mystic, what happened to you? You look horrible." She moved, and gestured towards the spot she'd just been sitting in. It was by far the most comfortable, since she'd gathered bits and pieces of the surrounding rock to make a flat surface. "Sit down." It was more of a command than a suggestion, but she didn't really care how he took it, just so long as he did so. "And tell me what's happened to make you so tired. It's disconcerting to see."
For a moment, she was silent, concentrating on the ability that she'd gained since last time she'd seen the Elf. She couldn't hear any hearts other than their own for miles, and nodded in satisfaction. "We're safe for a while, but there's still no sign of the others."

Without resistance, Mystic took a seat where Raina had guided him. Taking a deep breath from the extensive journey, Mystic looked down on himself. His clothes were ripped. Bruises became visible from the patches of exposed skin. His eyes were only half-open.
"Finding an Earth Portal is a difficult task. Took me weeks, and I could only pack so much. Just before I entered this land, I ran into . . . trouble. Nothing life-threatening." Said the Elf King, keen on leaving out the fact that he was attacked specifically by Demons. Not wanting to upset her by adding that detail, he found it best to leave it absent.
Raina had become an invaluable friend to Mystic over the months they spent traveling together in the past. Ever since his departure from Earth and the Elven Kingdom, close friends, let alone friends at all, were scarce in quantity. Slicing at the rope that was the friendship between Mystic and Raina was something he refused to do. He also knew that the long time gap he spent from her would not strain the friendship either. Seeing her again after such time was like seeing her once more after just yesterday.
Looking into the distance, Mystic observed his surroundings. He saw, felt, and heard nothing significant around, but as he gazed upon Raina, he could tell she was in deep concentration for a moment; almost as if she was listening for something. "The others will come soon. As long as they remember what they learned with us from before, their journey should be less strenuous." The Elf King then decided to question her for a moment, as curiosity got the better of him. "By the way . . . you seemed less than startled when I arrived. Almost as if you knew I was already here. Would that be a new skill, or have I just lost the touch?"

She laughed as she knelt beside him, resting a hand on his arm. "No, you're still just as silent as ever," she assured him, closing her eyes. Strength and healing power flowed from her to him. Raina laughed softly to herself, realizing that the last time she had tried this on him, she had been severely inept. Now it took less than a minute to heal his body and remove some of the fatigue, though most of that she could do nothing about.
"I've been training since I last saw you, Mystic. About a month ago, I discovered I could do something new. If I concentrate, I can hear heartbeats. It started out that I could only hear them within a few hundred yards of me, but now I can hear for miles. And besides that, my wind powers are significantly better. I could feel the disturbances in the air around you." Raina sat back and looked at him, for the first time realizing what seemed to be wrong, and had been bothering her. "Hey! Where's your armor, Elf?"

Cologne walked slowly deep in thought, disregarding his surroundings until he heard voices. "No, you're still as silent as ever," He strained his eyes to see the silhouettes of the two unknown voices. He then noticed a small rock formation big enough to hide his body. So instinctively he quickly ducked behind this new cover.
He listened attentively, but he wasn't really interested in the conversation he was more interested in the man. He was interested in the elf. Questions flooded his mind as he eavesdropped on the conversation. He decided to move closer but to try to stay alert. As he stood up into the open to get a view of his other surroundings so he could find closer cover, he lost his footing and went down hard onto the hot, dry ground.

At this moment, Yolan appeared running up the rocks with his sword in hand. He stopped in front of Mystic and Raina, puffing. "Sorry I'm late. Had a bit of bother on my way here. And it didn't help when someone came flying at me a few kilometres back, almost hitting me when he landed. He wasn't very conscious when I looked at him afterwards." He sheathed his sword and sat down on a nearby rock. "But, I'm here now. No sign of Michael yet?"

Raina blinked yet again. "Yolan!" She looked from one man to the other, and shook her head. "No, there's no sign of Michael, yet," she answered, with a slight tinge of worry in her voice. But then she stopped, listening intently. "Stupid!" she hissed at herself. "I wasn't paying attention. You there! Come out where I can see you! Now, before you make me come after you." Her hand twitched, but she made no movement, wanting to give whoever it was a chance to do as told. Otherwise, he would sorely regret eavesdropping.

As Mystic prepared to answer Raina's question about his lack of armor, Yolan seemingly came out of nowhere. The Elf King was far too fatigued to have a heads-up on anything around him. His reaction time was indefinitely sluggish, and as happy as he was to see his second friend after such a time gap, his face suggested otherwise. Mystic lacked the energy to even get up with a smile and shake his friend's hand.
"Yolan, my friend, it's been some time, hasn't it?" He said, still looking down at the ground, eyes partially open with his mouth moving only slightly. His hour-long flight to this location was a major energy-sapper. Even before his Demonic battle, Mystic possessed a low amount of elemental energy, and his water style attack before entering this realm didn't help either.
Before he could even finish properly greeting the Human, the Elf King was unseemingly startled by Raina's outburst. We're being watched? Questioned Mystic to himself. If not for the Demon, Mystic was sure the eavesdropper would have not been caught. He was in no state to catch intruders.
Turning around and looking where Raina's attention was drawn was the only thing the Elf King bothered to do. He was uninterested in starting a fight at the moment. If anything, he would leave that to his more lively friends. The odds were in the trio's favor anyway.

Raina shifted and looked back at the Elf. For a moment, she closed her eyes, and focused on the hidden intruder. She decided that whoever it was did not present a threat, and turned her focus back to Mystic, though she kept her mind open for any changes that meant he might be moving closer. "You should sleep, Mystic," she said quietly, kneeling next to him.
The Demon placed her hand on his back, between his shoulder blades, and released small shock waves that would feel pleasant, as well as help his body relax and accept the fatigue, pushing him towards rest. "It's alright here, Mystic. No one will attack you while we're here, and even if they tried, they wouldn't stand a chance." She rubbed her hand over the tense muscles in his back, hoping to encourage him to trust in his friends.

Mystic knew she was right. He was in no condition to do much of anything. "I'll try." Replied the Elf King, weakly. He usually went for three to five days at a time without sleep. It had only been two since his last time of rest, but the events he had been through in the past days demanded time for recovery. To make matters more difficult, Mystic was already aware of the not-so-far intruder. Such a factor would only add to the degree of difficulty which it took to fall asleep.
Allowing Raina to help him, Mystic sat still and let her do what she saw to be necessary. The Elf King had full trust in her and Yolan, something that a scarce amount of people had from Mystic. It was almost instantly relaxing as her hand came into contact with his bruised and tensed back. Just as she touched him, his memory was aroused with remembrance of one of the first few days he had spent with Raina. She had helped him relax in a manner just like this, and Mystic recalled feelings of appreciation, and others which he had briefly told her about at one time.
This moment was different. The shock waves quickly made him feel drowsy, but incredibly at ease at the same time. His muscles began to feel so relaxed to the point where they felt weak. It was far from painful, however. Losing consciousness, Mystic's body began to sway ever so slightly. "I trust you." He said, the words barely coming out of his mouth, as he slowly closed his eyes. Mystic's body fell to the side of Raina's body, with his head on her shoulder.

"I know you do," she answered softly, continuing the pulses until well after he was asleep. When she was sure he was resting, she gently laid him down on the smooth stone bed, and stood up. Closing her eyes, she searched for one particular heartbeat, and after a few moments, she found it, stretched out on a warm rock a few miles away. When it felt the touch of her mind, the creature jumped up, and started traveling at a surprisingly fast pace. It wasn't but half a moment before a familiar silver-gray body stretched out next to the Elf. "Watch over him, Kai," she ordered the cat, who blinked at her in answer, which she knew to be an affirmative answer. With one more quick glance at the sleeping Elf, she turned and moved silently towards the intruder, since he had not seen fit to show himself.

Raina's sudden outburst had suprised Yolan as well. As she was moving towards the intruder, Yolan moved his hand to the hilt of his sword, ready to draw if necessary, and stood between Raina and the now sleeping Mystic.
