Intro:
I would like to state here and now that there will be no magic and fantasy in this rp. This is strictly a melee fighting rp with super-weapons, violence, war, and drama. I really hope everyone can make this an action-packed and exciting rp, and I also hope everyone can find a way to express themselves in the weapons you will create for your character. I would also like to mention that this is the first rp that I’ve ever created, so I’m really nervous! Well…I’ve never been too good with intros, so I’ll stop ranting and get to the good stuff!

History: NOTE: If you don’t want to read the whole history then read the super-summary at the end!
The War of the Mountain never had a beginning. Since men had developed their minds enough to fathom desire, all wanted to rule the Mountain of the Sky. Its peak towered over the highest clouds, and its shadow stretched over the ocean. The sun and moon themselves seemed to kiss the mountain, and the wind eternally hugged all its sides. The rock face was nearly impossible to scale, and countless brave men lost their lives to the jagged boulders that surrounded the base of the mountain. One glimpse at the Mountain of the Sky would make men’s hearts race, and women weep tears of awe.
A tribe called who called themselves the Fyme had acquired a superior skill for mining over the years. They invented tools for digging and pulley systems for hauling materials out of the torched-light tunnels in the mountain side. For almost a century they removed rocks and earth from underneath the Mountain of the Sky, when finally they made a discovery that would change the course of history… forever.
The Fyme had found iron. This durable material was the advantage that the tribe had been waiting for, and they refused to let the other tribes make the same discovery. The Fyme wise men studied the new metal for almost a year until they learned how to melt and fold the material into steel. The wise men ordered all of the men in the village to mine as much iron as they could during the day, and at night build smithies in order to produce steel swords, shields, arrows, and tools. The entire settlement worked towards building an invincible army, and after a month enough steel was produced to arm the Fyme tribe three times over.
In the year 519 B.W. the Fyme had attacked the Surts neighboring settlement. The unprepared Surts were slaughtered by the Fyme. The Surts women and children were captured and forced into slavery, and the Surts’ settlement was claimed for the Fyme. Shortly afterwards the Fyme conquered two more tribes, and the following year eleven tribes were slaughtered and forced into slavery. The slaves labored in the mines and excavated the rare iron resource. Some slaves were not allowed to leave the mines until they loaded an entire cart with iron, which could take days. Other slaves were forced to work in the blistering hot sun, breaking the side of the mountain with iron tools. The Fyme yearned to build an empire that rose above the entire land; above all of the tribes they thought to be weak and lowly. The slaves hurled boulders from the mountain side, and slowly cut away the side of the mountain. In 482 B.W. the Fyme were able to climb the Mountain of the Sky by means of a carved roadway that crept up the mountain side. A large, open cave was built high above the summit, and the Fyme immediately began building their empire in the sky. Their tyrannical power was unmatched, and for centuries they prospered in immense wealth and luxuries. In 255 B.W. King Dedrid VI, a direct descendant of one of the wise men who discovered steel, declared the Fyme territory to be the first nation of the known world: the Irdrid Empire.
(I’ll try to sum it up from this point on. If you’re tired of reading, then try reading the super-summary below.)
Centuries later, a man named Ammer formed a new tribe that was a cluster of all the tribes fortunate enough to still be alive after numerous encounters with the Irdrid Empire. Ammer and his small army lost many battles, and after years of unsuccessfully defeating even a small faction of Irdrid’s army Ammer decided to set off on a journey to help his people. He vowed to find a way to defeat the empirical tyrants, and left his most trusted friend Ero in charge of the tribe.
A decade passed, and Ammer finally returned with a miracle. He rode home on a horse-drawn cart full of an earthy material. He told the tribe of his adventures on the outskirts of the world, and how he discovered a new metal that he believed to be stronger than regular steel. For months Ammer and Ero bent, melted, and hammered the new metal into all different shapes and sizes. Finally, they had developed a technique that allowed the new metal to slice through rock and shatter weaker metals. But would it be enough to defeat the Irdrid Empire? Ammer did not believe so.
For nearly a year Ammer isolated himself inside a smithy, away from the rest of the tribe. During that time he created three unique weapons which were unlike any other. A had created them using only the new metal, which he now called damara-steel (after his little sister, who was killed by Irdrid when Ammer was an adolescent.) However, the new weapons were complex and held many secrets. No one in the tribe could properly use the weapons, so Ammer devised another plan.
Ammer convinced Ero to give Ammer his three children: his sons Jero and Balter, and his daughter Mira. Ammer once again left the tribe, but this time he took the children with him. He gave each child a weapon, and disciplined and trained them on how to use their weapon properly. Each child trained a certain aspect of their body differently in order to wield the weapon to the best of their ability. Seven years later Ammer returned, but without the children. Instead, he returned with elite warriors.
Ammer taught Ero, and only Ero, the technique for bending the perfect damara-steel. They supplied the rest of the army with basic weapons, like swords and pikes, and shields. From that point on, the three warriors lead all the battles against the Irdrid army. They slaughtered all who stood in their way, and soon every Irdrid soldier feared facing the warriors in battle. After months of battles, one last battle was held at the base of the Mountain of the Sky. This battle would determine the outcome of the entire war.
The warriors fearlessly ran head on into the enemy, and killed all lesser Irdrid soldiers that they crossed. Even the Irdrid champions were no match for the skillful weapon masters. Irdrid wasted so much time creating steel, they never thought training their soldiers would be necessary. When the dust settled, all that was left were the three warriors. Ammer perished in this final battle, but his memory lived on in his creation: the damara weapons.
Ero taught a select few the secret technique of bending damara-steel, and since then only the wisest and most trusted men and women were taught the ancient technique. To this day, no metal can hold a candle to damara-steel. As for the three weapon masters, they grew old with their weapons. Before they died they each took on the task of teaching a student how to master their weapon. In honor of their memory, it has been a tradition for a weapon master to take on an apprentice and teach him/her the way of their weapon before they die. Super-Summary: A tribe called the Fyme discovers iron, and learns how to make steel. They make strong weapons with the steel and enslave all the other tribes. The Fyme gain lots of power, make a massive army, and declare themselves as the Irdrid Empire. A lot of years later a guy named Ammer makes a group to rebel against Irdrid, but they aren’t as powerful and can’t do squat against the steel clad army. Ammer leaves and discovers a more durable metal, and calls is damara-steel. He makes three unique weapons with the samara-steel, and trains three kids for seven years on how to properly use the new weapons. Ammer uses the rest of the metal to make basic weapons for the rest of the warriors in his group. They do battle with the Irdrid army, and totally kick butt. The three children (now young adults) lead the rebels to victory and defeat the Irdrid army. Since then, damara-steel has been used to make unique weapons. Only special weapon smiths who know the right technique can make superior weapons, and only specially trained warriors can wield a damara-steel weapon. To this day, it has been a tradition to respect both the damara weapon smith and the damara weapon master.

Current Story: The world has changed drastically since the time of the first damara weapons. Countries have been formed, and each yearns to have the most weapon smiths and weapon masters. It is the only way for one nation to gain the upper hand on another. The once noble and disciplined title of Damara Weapon Master (DWM) now sounds like a title that can be sold to the highest bidder. The secret technique of bending damara-steel is at risk of being leaked, again to the highest bidder. A new country called Irdrid, formed by descendants of the old Irdrid Empire, will stop at nothing to regain the power they once had.
Irdrid is not the only country that desires the power of damara-steel. Surtia, a nation that lives near the sea, wants damara-steel to guarantee their survival against the other nations. Mechio, the desert country, yearns to gain more wealth in order to improve their lands for farming. However, not all countries strive to gain the power of damara-steel. Eronia is a neutral country that harbors most of the freelancing DWMs and DWSs. Eronia has lush forests and grassy plains, the perfect place for DWMs to train a student, or for DWSs to spec out a new idea for a weapon.
Will you allow the world to once again fall to the desire of men? Will you put a stop to all fallen DWMs, and try to save the secret of damara-steel? Will you wish for the power of damara-steel to be your own? The choice is yours.Setting: The story takes place in a time similar to medieval Europe or feudal Japan. There are no electronics or machines, and the most advanced technology is most likely the damara weapons.
Click here to view a map of the land.
There are four main countries: Irdrid, Eronia, Mechio, and Surtia.
When Ammer and his army drove the Irdrid Empire out of the Mountain of the Sky, Irdrid settled their people further north. They are protected from the south by two mountain ranges, Suur and Sorin, and in the north lies a frozen waste land. Only the Free Lands pose a threat because the thugs, thieves, and outlaws reside in the Free Lands. Irdrid now lives in the mountains, and in order to survive they heard mountain sheep for wool and meat. Their main resources are wool, iron, and clay, which they use for trade.
Eronia is a forest infested country with miles of grassy plains. Many DWM use the lush forests to train themselves or their students. Also, the Mare Forest holds a hidden smithy where many DWS go to forge damara-steel weapons. There are few towns in the Yakari Plains, but as you travel further east towards the Eastern Sea more cities and towns will popup throughout the land. Eronia's main resources are wood and wheat. They also trade vegetables.
Mechio is a dry desert land. There are very few fertile areas in Mechio. There are two main oasis in the desert: the northern Durin Oasis and the southern Bebno Oasis. The Lazero Mountain Range borders the south edge of Mechio. Mechio does not make it's wealth through trade. Instead, Mechio holds fighting tournaments, races, and other forms of entertainment.
Surtia is the southern-most country in the land. Most of the people of Surtia are sailors and fishermen. The own many boats and ships, and built dozens of ports along the seashore. Although it may be more difficult for other countries to reach Surtia, Surtia can easily sail to Eronia or Mechio. Surtia mainly trades fish and salt.

Weapons: The weapon your character wields is the most important aspect of his or her life. Therefore, putting a lot of thought into your character's weapon is a must. Your character's body features and perhaps even his/her personality depend on what your weapon will be. Characters train with their weapons for years in order to master it, and only certain parts of the body can be trained to the max in order to use the weapon properly.Examples:I have thrown together some examples of how you can develop your weapons, and also how the weapon would affect a characters body, training method, and fighting style. The Fan
Click for picture of the Fan
1. A thin damara-steel blade. Because of the long length of the Fan (max length about 9ft) it is easy for the master to slice through enemies from a distance. 2. When the master presses the button (#3) and turns the two halves of the Fan to a certain degree the fan-like blade (#1) unlocks from its holder and can be freely swung around on a thin damara-steel wire. With a press of the button, a turn, and a quick jerk the wire will wind up and the blade will return to the holder. 3. The location of the button. When the button is pressed the staff is divided into two different sections that can be turned in different directions at #4. 4. There are a variety of things that can happen when the master turns the staffs. Depending on what degree the master turns the staffs at, the weapon will change. For example, the master can twist the Fan and disconnect the two ends from each other. Then the end with the blade could perhaps be used to block (like a shield) and the spike on the opposite end can be used to stab an enemy. 5. With a press of the button and a turn of the staff, the spike on the bottom of the Fan unlocks from its holder and can be freely swung around on a thin damara-steel wire. With a press of the button, a turn, and a quick jerk the wire will wind up and the spike will return to the holder.
The Fan is a light weight weapon and can be wielded by a balanced master. The Fan’s weapon master would have to practice using the Fan for attacking and defending against close ranged enemies.
The Wheel
Click for picture of the Wheel
1. The outer ring is a thin damara-steel blade. 2. Star-like shapes have been cut out of the outer ring. If the blade slices through an enemy deep enough, the points of the stars sometimes snag innards and rip them out of the body. 3. The inner ring is hollow and rounded, unlike the outer ring. 4. The weapon master can stand in the center of the Wheel and swing the Wheel around his/her body. The master can also spin the Wheel around a limb, or spin it on the ground.
The concept of the Wheel is like a hula-hoop. The master must be flexible and quick to use the Wheel. This weapon is good for keeping close range attackers from getting too close. It can also defend against larger weapons (large as in ‘won’t fit through the gaps’).
The Tons
Click for picture of the Tons
1. A large ball sits on each end of the staff. Both are made purely out of damara-steel, and therefore are very dense and heavy. 2. When the master presses the buttons (#3 or #4) and turns the two halves of the Tons to a certain degree one or both balls unlocks from its holder and can be freely swung around on a thick damara-steel wire. With a press of the button, a turn, and a quick jerk the wire will wind up and the balls will return to the holder. 3. The location of the left button. When the button is pressed the left ball unlocks from the holder, as explained in #2. 4. When both buttons are pressed the master can do one of two things: swing both balls from wires or divide the Tons in half, thus wielding two hammer-like weapons in each hand. 5. The location of the right button. When the button is pressed the right ball unlocks from the holder, as explained in #2.
The Tons is a very heavy weapon. Therefore it is required for the weapon master to have a superior amount of body strength.
Available Weapons:
If you can’t think of your own weapon, feel free to use any of these damara-steel weapons.

Characters: Use the following models and PM me your profiles. Please use the title “Weapon Profile”. You do not have to follow the models exactly.
Damara Weapon Masters
Weapon masters can master one damara weapon at a time. They train for years with their weapon, and by the end of their training they become true DWM. All weapon masters are trained by the previous master of the same weapon. When a DWM feels as if they are reaching the end of their life (whether it be from old age or an upcoming battle, ect…) they should honor the old tradition of teaching a younger person the secrets behind their damara weapon. Quote: Character Name: Gaian Name: Guild: (PLEASE TELL ME WHICH GUILD YOU ARE IN! I have this rp in another guild, so I want to make sure I post your profile in the right thread.) Age: Gender: Appearance: (Pictures are acceptable) Weapon: (Pictures are acceptable. Be as descriptive as possible, but you do not have to go as far as I did in the Weapons section. Weapons should have some secrets after all. ) DWM Type: (Are you a traditional DWM, as in you honor the old ways and do not want the power of damara-steel to get out? Or are you a fallen DWM, as in you have sided with a certain nation to become the most powerful country in the world?(Basically good, bad or neutral)) Country: (If you are a fallen DWM, which country have you sided with?) Training: (upper body strength, reflexes, speed, ect…) Rank: (Teacher, student, freelancer, soldier…) Personality: Background: (If you want your character to be bad but you don’t want to join a nation (or if you have another situation along those lines), then please explain the circumstances in the Background.)
Damara Weapon Smith
Weapon smiths are usually very intelligent people who constantly work on creating new weapons. DWSs are usually taught the secret technique of making damara-steel by family members, or in some cases by close family friends. No matter who the teacher is, it is always made very clear from the moment they learn the technique to not tell another soul about the secret (unless teaching a trusted soul, like a son, daughter, grandchild, ect…). It is not uncommon for DWSs to be bribed, kidnapped or even tortured for the secret behind damara-steel. Also, only the DWSs know exactly where to mine for damara-iron.Quote: Character Name: Gaian Name: Guild: (PLEASE TELL ME WHICH GUILD YOU ARE IN! I have this rp in another guild, so I want to make sure I post your profile in the right thread.) Age: Gender: Appearance: (Pictures are acceptable) Weapon: (This part is optional. List all of the weapons you have created here. If you wish to, you can create weapons for DWM characters to use. PM the weapon and a good description to me, and I’ll post it in the Available Weapons section. I’ll give your character (and you) credit of course.) DWW Type: (Are you a traditional DWS, as in you honor the old ways and do not want the power of damara-steel to get out? Or are you a fallen DWS, as in you have sided with a certain nation to become the most powerful country in the world?(Basically good, bad, or neutral)) Country: (If you are a fallen DWS, which country have you sided with?) Rank: (Veteran, novice, retired, ect…) Personality: Background: (If you want your character to be bad but you don’t want to join a nation (or if you have another situation along those lines), then please explain the circumstances in the Background.)
Other Characters
Your character does not have to be a DWM or a DWS. Create whoever you want to be!Quote: Character Name: Gaian Name: Guild: (PLEASE TELL ME WHICH GUILD YOU ARE IN! Carth wiped the rain from his eyes and continued to walk down the broken cobblestone street. His boots were caked in fresh mud, and he was soaked from head to toe. He had been searching for a tavern, an inn, a bar... any establishment that provided a roof and a cold drink. He finally spotted a sign with a picture of a large goblet and a sword. He opened the door and peered inside for a moment before fully entering the building. Bar maids were serving ale to dozens of men in the large torch light room. Carth walked down the front steps and made his way to an empty booth in the corner, away from all the commotion. A young waitress with red hair appeared next to his table. She asked "What can I get for you tonight, mister?"
Carth wiped his wet nose and replied "A drink. Something strong and sweet please." She giggled, nodded her head and was walked off to fetch the drink from behind the bar. Carth placed his Fan, which he had covered in a cloth to shelter it from the rain, next to his booth so that it was leaning against the wall. He waited patiently for the maid to return with his drink.

She returned after a few minutes, and placed a large mug full of an amber colored drink on the table in front of him. Carth smiled and thanked her. "Anything else, sir?" the young waitress asked. He shook his head, and took the mug in his hand. "No, this will be all for now." She bowed slightly, and walked off to serve another customer. Carth took a sip, and cringed. The drink wasn't sweet at all, but then again, a bar like this must not have a large selection of alcohol. He sighed, and took another sip.
