He had been proud, or rather beyond proud at the news that his mate had been pregnant. While they often spent time apart, enjoying solitude and the company of others - the bond they possessed had let to pleasant rendezvous and on one particular occasion Tifa had provided him with rather surprising (yet exciting) news.
He was going to be a father!
Granted, he hadn't screamed from the top of his lungs in delight but the glint in his eye and the spring in his step had been a constant from that day on. He'd seen the pair,a son and a daughter as they had come in to the world but unfortunately (and much to his shame) he hadn't been around to see them grow up as much as he would have liked.
Being a recluse had it's problems sometimes.
All the same, with a renewed sense of purpose he had chosen to take the opportunity to see his children properly. He wasn't going to allow them to wonder who he was or where he was - it went against all of his principles! Thus, he had drifted towards the location in which his mate had been for a brief time. She had chosen the spot to give birth so he could only hope that maybe his children would sometimes return to the scene.
...He always returned to the familiar.
Tossing his forelock from his eyes he continued to push himself through the grass and towards the somewhat shorter grass where a number of trees lay spattered about in random locations.
