Yeah. Someone might remember me mentioning the cute guy at the candy/plushie shop here. I asked him out and we went to Steak and Shake. Oooooh, romantic. XD We talked about random stuff, including Halo 2.
It seemed to go pretty well, though it was my first date and all, even though I'll be 19 here soon. I feel... Weird. XD Are first dates ALWAYS weird?
Pros about it:
-Guy (his name's Jesse) was very nice
-He called me less than half an hour after me giving him my number
-He was very easy to talk to; little awkwardness (and what there was, we both giggled over) and we had stuff in common to talk about
-Um... He's very cute. XD Very, very cute. Dark hair and blue-green eyes cute.
Cons:
-He's older than I thought; he's twenty-five. Not a EW age difference, but a bigger one than I expected.
-He's moving an hour away in about a month, as he's been offered a position on the track team in the state capital
-Um... Well, I think that's about it.
SO. DISCUSS.
-First dates. Are they weird? What was yours like?
-Um... Yeah. Whatever else. XD

Iiii... Okay, the closest thing I've had to a date was going to a Christian concert with my then-boyfriend. >_O Let me say this: I hate him now, annnnd I really dislike music that says "this world holds nothing for me."
I mean... you're singing to a bunch of teenagers and telling us that there's nothing on Earth worth our time. You gonna hand us the razor too?
I'm not dissing Christians, because I am one (Catholic), but that was just... sick and very wrong.
H'anyway, your boytoy sounds nice. :3 But he's moving in a month... that part sucks. Might not wanna get too attached in that case. Good luck.

I'm turning nineteen in less than five months, and I still haven't had my first date, either. I want to have one, but... *shrugs*
I'm glad for you that you like this guy. It sounds like he will be a good first boyfriend for you. It's good that you know he's moving away, instead of it getting serious and then having it sprung randomly on you. I hope that for the time you have together, you really, really enjoy it.

XD My first 'real' date { as in, just us two. xD I usually HAVE to invite friends if I'm going anywhere with whoever I'm dating/blah } was with this REALLY cute kid at my school, who turned out to be your average druggy/emo/punk thing.
Still, he was cute. XD
It was lame, since 1} it was impromptu. I just ended up going to his house and then it evolved into a date and 2} he's lame. D:< Then he turned around and started liking this other girl, which was. Bleh. XDD
Your date sounds like alot more fun than I had, though. You should take pictures of him, i wanna see what he looks like. :U

Yes first dates are awkward. And they sometimes can go very bad, like mine xD.
But it sounds like yours turned out pretty good, and if he calls back for a second date then it sounds like he really likes you. Don't worry about the age difference it's not that bad. Your both mature adults smile

I think first dates are always awkward, but if you have something to talk about, then I think things will turn out okay.

I'm pretty open so it's hard for it to be awkward.
It sounds like you had an awesome time and overcame the first date jitters. Congrats! I hope everything turns out the way you want it to.

@Valerie521 - XD That DOES sound like depressing music. Part of the reason I don't listen to Christian rock; the MUSIC itself is usually great, but the lyrics are often really WTF.

Thanks! heart Yeah, my mom and dad are just five and a half years apart in age, so six isn't a really big deal, I suppose. It's just seems weirder at 19 and 25 than 35 and 41. XDDD heart

Aye. Thats true. Still, Ive only ever been in two very serious relationships..neither were a 'we're going on a date' sort of thing. I may have been on dates and not known. s**t, now I need to analyze fours years of relationshipness. xd
I can think of only once I was asked to go out on something resembling a date, I chickened out hours before because I didnt think it was a date..and my mum was all 'you're going out to eat and see a movie..its a date' and I really really didnt like the guy like that.

I wouldn't worry about the age difference, either. I've noticed that those types of things don't really matter as much when you get older. Plus, at least he's not like, 40. XD
I have yet to go on my first date, but I'm not the type to obsess over having a boyfriend.
Knowing me, though, I'm sure it will be quite awkward D:

  Hmm... I did have a boyfriend... But I don't know, It wasn't like he ASKED me out or ASKED me to be anything, yanno? It sort of just happened... So I don't know if the time we've hung out/been together Counts as a date or anything, But... I guess it was more awkward for him, than me 'Cause he started laughing (He laughs when he's nervous) Yea... Silence with him was just nice. Hmhm... I guess it wasn't weird for me... We just sat on the library steps, talking, then I told him to run away Before someone saw us, haha :B

closest thing I've ever had to a date is a friend asking to hang out with me one day last summer, then me finding out that he liked me as more than a friend that day. He didn't tell me, it was just reaaaaaeeaeaeaeaeally obvious xP
but, I'm taken...although by a guy in a different country, i'm taken xP
My first date with him is gonne not be until next year crying it was gonna be October, but, we had to push it back, and the Spring is the best time we could manage D: but, it'll be amazing ^^
It's cool you had a good time ^^ i'm gonna be 18 when my first proper date comes along, so being nearly 19 is no big dead =D

I've yet to go on a real date.
The closest I've ever been was going to the movies with a really good friend of mine.
But we were just friends, so it didn't really count. sweatdrop
One hour away is not so terrible.
There's the phone, e-mail, messenger and transportation.
And if you're not into that, well, you do have one whole month wink
