A black spiral notebook lay on the desk of Demetri's room. There was nothing special about it except that it was stuffed with extra pages--so enlarged by said pages that the covers were starting to tear. Nothing was written on the front, though it couldn't have been seen if there was. All in all the notebook was very plain, at least in appearance.
Inside however one could find the workings of an angsty fourteen year old boy, who'd moved around his entire life. He'd had nothing to cling to but this notebook for years. Inside one would read of his trials and tribulations, his glories and his failures. Indeed this notebook was a window into the very soul of the boy who owned it. Dare you descend into a place which can not be escaped? Dare you enter the folds of this boy's troubled mind and soul?

My name is Demetri Christopher, and this is my life. Every day is different, though many are the same. My mother's name is Gloria Sorenson Christopher. My father is Reginald Christopher. My mother doesn't work, well, not outside the house at least. She irons clothes for the neighbors, spies on everyone, and makes most of our clothes. They are hideous. This is why I spend most of my money on acceptable clothing. My father is a grease monkey. He inerited a business from his great grandfather than proceeded to run it into the ground, sell it to the highest bidder, and squander that on alcohol. Neither of them make much money, but we get by.
I was born in October on the 31st, this is why they picked a name they felt was ... scary. What they didn't realize is that a name alone can not intimidate others, especially when that name belongs to an oddity such as myself. Though my mother has red hair and my father brown, I ended up with the most unnatural color possible. My hair is purple, and no it is not dyed. My eyes too are odd, a light amethyst. These three factors of my person have haunted me for years. Ammo for insults that don't need aid.
On a lighter note, I like to write. Really its my biggest passion. This notebook travels with my just about everywhere. My English teachers say I should write professionally, but I never could. I write to release, not to entertain anyone. This journal is filled with my thoughts and they are for my eyes only. Why I am describing myself here is beyond me. Perhaps I'm describing myself to these pages so that they will recognize me if we should ever be seperated.

Making friends has never come easily for me. I don't really understand why, but maybe I try too hard to impress people I honestly don't like very much. The kind of crazy lady at Descending Angels said that this game would help me make friends but I'm not so sure.

 Enemies seem to be much easier to come by. Already I'm disliked by the boys in my classes at school, and girls don't really look at me. I don't look at them either but that has little to do with it. I don't particularly hate anyone, but some seem to hate me. I think its more likely that I'll find foes through this game than friends. No matter, I'll just have to beat them on the layer.
