Heavy shades of leaves clap against the wind, as it was pouring like a parallel sheet, with each gush of summer winds. Trees thickened around the area, as if it were the only shelter, unless you had hid among two-legger teepees. Though it was doubtful they would put you into the shade for protection. The ground was too solid though to force mud puddles, instead a few would strive against dents in the ground, or near roots that shoved into the dirt. Broken tree limbs dangled from their heights, asking to just fall on some unsuspecting creature. It was barely evening though. Even if the sky had a dark hue, bright spatters on the clouds would hide in a peep of fast moving clouds. The rain would fall with rhythm suffocating worms in their burrows, leaving some to rot. That was the stench of rain.

Two four legged entities had meandered into perhaps the most unlikely spot. Though they would not notice each other at first the obvious movements of them did not hide what they were. Cracks from the sky had bursts of white fire that formed jagged streaks, cluttering a branch that would no longer conceal either of the two, from each other, even if walking away. Even if the rain washed away the sound. Site was unalterable.

The dark mare's blood red eyes widened, but they had soon been met with her white brows. The sharp scanning of Cotton candy, seeing if he was one to flee from her site. Maybe he wouldn't. She was part Unicorn, and part Kalona. She was also full blooded danger, for this one. Not only that but her within the rain it looked like silver dreads fell from her mane, only with black beads of dark tips cluttering at each pounding of rain. Her lashes would shove over the rain, though it would not sting her. She just wanted to clearly see this Unicorn for herself. The other half of her specie?

They were pink? No. They couldn't. She was only white, black, and red. Then again it perhaps didn't matter. His mother was probably white, and his mother red, she concluded, though unsure. A half smile fell into place.

"A horned equine of some form preying about for shelter? Aren't you unlucky?"

An arrogant tone came from her, as she took one step forward, followed by a few more strides to get a closer look. He could see now, the blood hoofed mare just a bit closer, but the darkness didn't help matters.

"Unlucky indeed."

His eyes flickered noticing the contrast of this creature against the greenness of the backdrop behind them. She was anger set in a portrait as his eyes gazed upon each mesmerizing sparkle that seemingly uplifted off her entire form before him.

"And why would I be unlucky?" he murmured still taken in by the gorgeous Goddess before him, "I'd say I am quite lucky right now."

He wasn't lying, not in the least of this creature being a deity in his eyes. She had power, raw power and anger that made her swarm with a beautiful expression no one would dare approach. She carried a demon's escense yet his own with a shining spiral.

He watched her thoughtfully knowing that a creature of her stature could possily take a chunk out of him, but why now in the great land should he run from such elegance as she stood there so.

The black velvet looking mare raised a brow. She could only be curious for so long. "You say you're lucky. I agree with this, alike. You're alive. Might not be for long though." Her fangs naturally shown though, with expressed speech, her eyes narrowed at him, like a cat's. Her dark tail would rush in jerks from to and fro. "I think you know very well what you see in me, what should I see in you?"

The tone of her voice was certain, but very stubborn. "Don't tell me I see something that of any sort will sweep me off the very ground I settle. I don't believe in predictions, my sister might." The last three words were mockery of maybe the legit voices in her sister's head told of many things, they should not know. The ominous mare walked forward, as she would try to rationalize, did Unicorns scorn her kind like Kalona's? Was she really related to his kind?

"I'm not so easily swayed." she bruted against the sheets of water. They would trickle over her silvery white hair to black ends that looked like silver becoming of tainted rot. She wanted to hear something nice. She really did, but she would curse him either way. It was a very random thing. She could be sugar and spice, but a banshee held its breath hoping for reason to not be denied its fury.

A kalona mixed beauty was what he saw mirrored in his appreciative eyes. The first for that matter he'd ever chanced to lie his eyes upon. Even darkness held a flavor on one's tongue if they left it there long enough.

"Why would I even curse such a lovely creature? Not all could say the same as I, but yet I believe what my heart tells me just the same."

He smiled into those evil eyes feeling her pain for others had caused. He only knew of another, a mare that carried the more feathery perfection and horn as himself. She was her own body, mind and soul even accompanied by her calico colored lion. What she looked for in life Cotton could not fathom, for he never lost anything that was dearly precious to him.

"Do you ask of me to run like a scared foal as if your very soul might taint me? That I can not do, darkness. I couldn't turn away from something that inspires the simple phrases to sprout and grow from my very words now can I?" he mused knowing she either stand dumbstruck or attack him outright. He wasn't one for confrontation but would fight her if it was a desire she tucked deep inside her breast.

Either way he wasn't budging, no matter what penalties lie ahead.
