I have a few. 1) My best friend is moving away because of her dad's job. She will be gone for a year and a half.
2) I like this guy, in real life. He is very nice, honest, kind, funny, and um. pretty cute. He treats me very good. He considers me a 'very good friend' but I like him more than that. The only bad thing is, he is catholic. He believes in different things than me and my parents don't think it is right to date catholics. I don't know what i should do.
3) My pap had cancer and is now recovering. But he is very weak.

Nakayru ok ill be praying for you. and that guy you like. maybe you should see how different your beliefs really are. My boyfriend was completely atheist and after a lot of praying, he's been coming to church with me. Well, Nick won't listen to me when I try to talk to him. I have tried again and again to talk to him about my faith but he just says something that he believes. But I am really trying to help him. I might invite him to church sometime. But I don't know if he will come. gonk

Okay, really, what's wrong with being Catholic? I mean sure, I don't agree on them in a lot of things, but they're still Christians, right?

what the problem can sometimes be is that if two different branches are together, they disagree on a lot of things. Church doctrines are often different, but if you put together all the different branches, you have the perfect christian.

Miko-Hime Okay, really, what's wrong with being Catholic? I mean sure, I don't agree on them in a lot of things, but they're still Christians, right? some yes, most no. catholics believe that after you die you go to a place called preagatory(sp) and you have to be 'paid out'. which means that if the people that loved you pay enough money to the church that u will go on to heaven and if not then you go to hell. christians don't believe that. and i'm not treating him as a non-believer. it's just i know that he is believing the wrong stuff and i am trying to help him. but he just keeps trying to change me into a catholic.

i also have a prayer request, its rather important to me. Last night my parents got in a huge fight. I went crazy, i called up Vent, (amanda) who helped me as much as i suppose i could be. While i was on the phone with her , my mom came in crying sayin that she was leaving and i wasn't allowed to go anywhere so i could stay with my brother. Luckily she stayed here, but things are really going bad in the house.

I'm Catholic and I don't believe in purgatory or indulgences. Indulgences were outlawed a few hundred years ago and are no longer practiced. I also happen to believe that I'm not going to hell because I'm Catholic. The way you get to heaven is by believing in Jesus and submitting to God. I assure you that if a person does that, it doesn't matter if they're Catholic or not, they're going to heaven. If you want to catch your boyfriend in a tight spot concerning purgatory, simply ask him for Bible verses that support it. Also, you shouldn't be offended or upset at all about him trying to turn you into a Catholic, after all, you wish to change him. The best way is to show him evidence or the lack thereof concerning some Catholic beliefs, not by simply telling him what he believes is wrong.
