Note: the setup thread for this game can be found here.Sorrow’s Head: a small hamlet in the midst of the Shadow Marches, sitting at the headwaters of the Sorrow River, from which it takes its name. A remote location, and one filled with hardship and danger, few outsiders would ever choose to settle here. But it is here that your mentor, Master Dreggis, has settled after a period of adventuring. And it is here that he has established an informal school for adventurers, where he passes his knowledge along to you and a select other few students. But evil lurks in the Marches, scars from when the Gatekeepers fought against the Daelkyr, saving Eberron from unspeakable madness and evil . . . and it is here that not only have you been taught, but where you will be tested . . . and either emerge as a hero, or be forever destroyed.

Winter has been usually cold this year, and you are grateful for the warmth and comfort of Master Dreggis’s school. Master Dreggis’s magics keep the you the building warm and safe, and protect the village from the worst of winter’s deprivations.
But the nearby settlement of Zaltar`n has not been so lucky. A sickness has spread there, and threatens to be the end of the settlement. You are confident, however, that your mentor will be able to help them. As you wake this morning, you find a note saying that Master Dreggis wishes to speak to you after breakfast about a special task. You wonder if the two are related. . . .

seeing the note excitement flooded through me i dressed in my leathers went down to breakfast hoping for a little cold meat.

*Unsure how breakfast and meeting the master could be possibly related I clamber out of bed, nodding at Ethan as he darts down the stairs to eat and find out before anyone else has woken up.
stretching mightily and dispersing the cold in my bones I slowly stand up and gather my clothes, put them on, then stride downstairs see If i can help augment the meal the cook prepared.

At the site of the note I give a grunt, "Damn and I was hoping today would be quick and easy," I says to myself, "O well can't be that bad, if breakfast is involved," I finish with "mmm."
I reach the stairs, and stop, "I wonder what master wants, the note seemed pretty important," I stand there paused for a moment, "ah well if it is I better hurry, I think everyone is down there already," I hurry the rest of the way.

Picking himself up from the soft spot of hay in his room where he had fallen asleep, Leokul lazily lifted his head to find himself trapped behind a yellow-brown wall of paper. Panicking quietly he flailed around madly until the wall floated down off of his forehead. Looking down he noticed it was only a piece of parchment stuck to his head. Hoh, How foolish.He took a look at it, then looking around him, he stood up to go eat his breakfast.
Casually taking his stocky waddling body to his secret food stores(as gods only know he wouldn't dare eat the food served downstairs, he kept on staring at the note given to him by Master Dreggis. In a series of swift movements he slid into his room, pulled out a leg of lamb of his rack, and dodged back out the door. Might as well eat on the way to Dreggis, hrm? He nodded and smiled to himself, thinking of the surprise Master Dreggis would have waiting for him. Ripping off a piece of meat with his teeth, he took another glance at the note, hastily stuffed into his pocket...
Returning slowly from his 'detour' he took while eating, Leokul started finishing the leg quickly. Throwing the remains to his left, he walked on. He covered his face with a strangely serious scowl, he felt angry or maybe it was anxious. He walked hurriedly towards the Dining room's doors before opening them, almost abusively, and throwing his head inside.

A sudden rumble upstairs attracts Bruhan's attention "Hm, guess Leokul woke up" he muttered, and waited a few moments.
Grunting, again he spoke "Guess there's more food for the rest of us" and continue cooking, already with two breakfast sausages apiece and starting to make eggs to feed the miniature army that is the school, Bruhan reflects momentarily, then comments to the cook nearby helping him with this task "About how long have I been here? a month?"
The man replies "Yeah, just about." Nodding Bruhan accepts this information "I've been cooking here for about half the time, why won't you try a little harder? I've got training to do" he hissed. The man laughs casually, and answers "You always have traning to do, but I could do with the help, and they could do with the breakfast, grab yourself a plate and sit down, I'll finish here"
Grunting again, Bruhan wanders over to the table and takes his place, preparing to eat and find out what the master wants.

Seeing Bruhan sit down to eat, Leokul opened the doors halfway and stepped inside. "Still eating that slop, eh?" Taking a glance at Bruhan, then staring at his food. Waddling over to a seat across from him, he pokes the plate, moving it slightly. "I'm surprised it's not moving this time." He closed his eyes and sat back with a sigh relief.
Opening one eye and looking at Bruhan, allowing him to start eating. He looked around the room, a couple of chairs, some tables too, nothing too special. What could Dreggis have planned? Shaking himself out of his daze he sat upright, and hunched over the table to whisper to the man across from him."Ho, Bru! Have you seen Master Dreggis around, yet?"

At Leokul's words, the far door opened, and who should appear but Master Dreggis himself. "Ah! So good to see you all assembled!" he boomed. "As you all should know by now, I have something special planned for you. It is time . . . for you to have your first adventure.
"As you know, there is a great sickness in Zaltar`n, which none can cure, not even myself. But I have an old friend that I believe can cure this illness. He does not live nearby, however, so you must travel to him and bring him here, for he is old and can no longer travel by himself."
Master Dreggis stands quietly, seeming to await questions.

"Only two..." said Bruhan carefully.
"The first is, who else is coming besides you and us four..."
And the second is, when do we leave?" he fiished simply.
A beat passes before Bruhan continued, turning to Leokul and saying "If you didn't like me putting a live lamb in your bed to prepare for yourself, you could have told me!" Grinning and turning his attention back to his sausage and eggs, he finished his meal.

"A couple questions," "first, what kind of, 'trouble' will we be faced with," "second, what is the terrain like that we'll be traveling on," "and final, is there any specific preperation we need before we leave."
"And Bruhan, there are five of us." I correct, "just so you know," "learn to count," I say under my breath.
