A tall, first year student strolled through the gardens of Ouran High School, his ipod playing loudly in his ears. The outdoors that day were pleasant, and though Roka didn't particularly enjoy going outside over staying in, he hoped a bit of fresh air and the beauty of nature would brighten his mood. He was still worrying a bit about the dress his sisters had ordered tailored for him at home.
Also, he had a good many other things to think about. The Music Club he had hoped to found, for one. He still needed to converse with Satu about how they would change it before he resubmitted his form to the school board. Also, the school Musical was stuck in his mind. He told Mitsuko he would try out for auditions if she did. It was strictly to keep an eye on her. But what about preforming himself?
It had never been one of his strong suits to get up in front of an audience and recite lines or declare a speech. His introduction in class had been bad enough. So what was he to do? Try out for a minor role? It might work, only if he was too minor, he wouldn't be able to keep an eye on Mitsuko. She was almost certain to snag a starring spot.
As the emerald-eyed boy pondered all this, he twirled a long lock of his silver hair about his fingers in the feminine fashion he picked up from his sisters. That was another thing he was seriously debating. A male character would be difficult for Roka to pull off...but a female character? That would be simple.
The only trouble was, what would the others think of him? Minori probably already thought he was a werido - she had witnessed him in a dress at Mitsuko's party. That had been totally necessary at the time however, and still...it hadn't been his idea. His ears still hurt from his younger sisters' piercing.
As he wandered aimlessly along the pathways that snaked through the gardens, Roka was so absent-minded that he didn't even think to look up. Therefore, he failed to noticed anyone else who might have been watching him pace.

The one happening to be watching him was hanging by a limb of a tree... by his knees. He was swinging back and forth without a care in the world, and looked as though he were talking to his... pen.
"Look! Look who comes to our beauteous garden, my faithful pet. Why, I do believe it is a prince from another land!"
He let go, flipped, and landed with a thud on the ground - right in front of the student in question.
"Tell me, oh glorious being, where art thou heading in such a leisurely strolling manner? Did you lose your horse? I do believe I saw him in the next pasture over, nearer the castle."

The long-haired boy's silver brows furrowed, the corners of his mouth drooping in a delicate, almost feminine frown. He could have been certain he heard something outside the sound of his ipod's music. But what? No one else seemed to be around at the moment...
His emerald eyes widened at the sudden, unexpected appearance of a second male student who seemed to have fallen right out of the sky. Roka reached into his pocket and quickly stopped the song he had been listening to before kneeling down to tend to the stranger. A faint recognition registered in the boy's mind as he caught sight of his classmate's face. The sound of his voice and the utter absurdity of his talk only confirmed the identity of the young man that had entered the classroom on the first day of school acting quite strange.
"Are you alright?" he asked the student, bending down beside him. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you! Where did you come from? Are you hurt?"
Even now, Roka glanced at the pen the boy held in his hand, recalling what he had assumed was a very bad case of either schizophrenia, lonliness, or a combination of both. He began to worry the fall had damaged his fellow student's already delicate state of mind, but looking around he couldn't for the life of him understand just where Akira had dropped from. Surely it couldn't have been the sky, but it had never occured to the music student that one might climb a tree.
He opened his mouth to reply, hesitated, cleared his throat, and tried again. "I-I'm afraid you must be mistaken, good sir. I'm no...ah...'glorious being'. My name is Roka," he told him, and with some hesitation, added, "Your classmate. From Class 1A. Remember? I believe we had a breif meeting of sorts earlier..."
Wondering what else to say, Roka continued to stammer an answer uncertainly. "Heading? Ah...well...no where in particular, really...um, no, actually I don't have a horse," he informed Akira. "I'm afraid my parents are very concerned about animals being a problem towards my health. Though it's really only cats that I'm allergic to." He wasn't really sure why he was explaining all this to the dark-haired boy. He probably didn't even understand what he was saying.
"Er, I'm sorry, I don't recall you ever telling me your name. Though...perhaps we should get you to the nurse first?" Offering a hand, he smiled a small, awkward little smile.

Akira tilted his head this way and that while the other spoke to him, trying to figure out what his point was in denying the obvious. Then he figured it out. It must be a game! Ok, he'd play along then.
"Of course, of course..." he answered to the first question. "I am quite alright. The fall bruised my ego more than it did my physical being. I am fine." He looked the boy up and down. And so are you, but that is an opinion which I shall reserve for myself.
He rebutted the other's denial, however. Couldn't have that. "Nay, nay - You are the most glorious creature in these... ah.... 'Gardens' as they are called." He grinned. "The most glorious by far."
He nodded at mention of not having a horse. Part of the game then. Very well.
"Yes, yes, I must have been mistake about a horse. What a silly creature I am! Do forgive me? My name is Akira. And what is this 'nurse' you speak of?"
That, he didn't know, and therefore could not play along with. That saddened him. He must know what this nurse was!
