Kitsune had gone off for the morning, leaving Pupkin Tart asleep while the sun was lazily coming up. Sometimes he enjoyed going for a fast run, and on the right mornings he also enjoyed coming out of lurking and speeding across the landscape. He would run all over, and get a better feel for the area around him. It was his way to learn everything about the nature of the land, and it was important to always keep a good sense of where one was at a certain time. For Kitsune, running was fun, and running in new areas was even funner.

But, when the morning had finally appeared, and the sun had made itself clear to the land, Kitsune decided to make his way back to where he and Pumpkin Tart had slept. He crept through the many trees and trails, finally noticing that he was only a few paces away from where they had rested. They may have remained well hidden, but both he and Pumpkin Tart preferred it that way.

He started to slow his movements, since he wasn't sure if Pumpkin Tart was still sleeping. He hadn't quite made it yet, so he continued to creep towards the spot in a very slow fashion.

Pumpkin Tart was suffering from unexpectedly severe exhaustion. She dozed, half awake, half asleep, and tried to remember just what had happened the night many days before. There had been a fight with a Kalona, and then the unicorn... but what had happened after? She barely recalled nuzzling against Kitsune as a gesture of appreciation. Had there been more to that memory? Perhaps. She thought that that part of their interactions had been a dream. Since then, though, such things had proved to be far, far more than fantasies. It was different, but at the same time, she accepted it as part of their bonding.

"Kitsune?" she said quietly, hearing the soft beat of familiar hooves. Despite his best efforts, he had fully awakened her upon his arrival. She didn't begrudge him that, however. She liked to know that he was around. Lately, she had been feeling vulnerable again, feeling a bit... odd. Out of sorts. She stirred, and lifted her head from where it had lain while she slept. "You're awake early, once again." A glance about herself told her that dawn had finally arrived, so he must have been awake somewhat before this. The mare had become used to the stallion's habit of going on runs, something she enjoyed herself. Unfortunately, it was also something that she did not feel up to at the moment.

Kitsune approached Pumpkin Tart and stood by where she was now. Pumpkin Tart looked incredibly exhausted, and Kitsune was starting to get worried."Good morning." he said, with his usual stiff voice. "How did you sleep?" That might have been a stupid question, but he didn't want to demand complicated answers out of her just yet. She looked much too tired for that sort of thing. It was obvious that she slept more then usual, but hopefully her dreams were pleasant as well.

"You know me, I always do this on a wonderful day. I noticed you were sound asleep, so I hope you don't care that I didn't wake you." He always enjoyed her company when watching the early sky, but seeing her sleep that well actually shocked him a bit. If anything, she was the one that was more nervous to noises and sounds! "How are you feeling this morning?" he finally dragged it out of himself, and he waited for her answer.

If she was starting to get ill, they really needed to find a Unicorn or something!
