As most of you know, Genesis was modeled after Gackt for Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus and gave the voice to him. I've been wondering around a bit and saw more images of Genesis from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core when he was still a member of Shinra's SOLDER unit along with Zack and Sephiroth. Gackt reprises the role in the Japanese version for the voice and the character's slightly modified from the original version from FFVII biggrin OC. I'm sure you can find more images from FFVII:CC at Wikipedia.org and IGN.com once you get a chance.

This is scanned from a magazine called Famitsu that may have information on Genesis. All that we know is that according to the games, almost all of the information on Genesis was lost. He also was M.I.A. prior to FFVII:CC and that Zack and his mentor Angeal had to find him. He's believed to be the origin of the Deepground army probably because of Hojo's experimentation on the injured members of SOLDIER. I'm assuming that he went rogue on Shinra because of its experimentation just as Sephiroth did, but he goes up against Sephiroth along with Angeal. That's my prediction because the English version of the game is probably under production by now.

I heard something about this, but the person who told me said something about another character. Now I see they were wrong.
I have to see if I still have that message.

Hmm. It doesn't seem very thick to me, but very noticeable. I really like his accent though.

So anyways, I've mentioned about Genesis's outfit for Crisis Core and that it's different from the one in Dirge Of Cerberus. What's your reaction to the outfit change that still maintains a bit of the original look?

I wish Gackt did the English version too. Fangirls would go nuts. Anyway, I like both of the outfits. Genesis looks great in either of them. His wing seems to have shrunk a bit from when he was featured in DoC's secret ending, but other than that, there really aren't that many changes between this version and the other. Also, doesn't DoC take place about 10 years after Crisis Core? The outfit change was probably meant to emphasis that fact.

I think because the wing was so small was because Genesis was subjected to all of those experiments and that once he ages the wing grows larger. When I first saw the secret ending, I never though that the wing would be black and that it would be on Genesis's left side. In some ways, I believe that Genesis had a bit of a fallen angel quality because of the wing being black, and that Genesis was probably left-handed.

The only problem with the wing growing theory is that from what I could tell in the secret ending, he was trapped in some sort of crystal. Possibly mako like Sephiroth was.
