ok, so my friend finally gets a week off work, and made plans to go out of town. her supervisors decided to plan a mandatory meeting the week that she plans to take off work, but she already told them she couldn't make it in that week because shes headed out of town. but her boss/supervisors still claimed that she was expected to come in, despite the fact that she told them she couldn't make it, because shes just headed out of town and not out of the state. but from where shes headed its over an hour drive! she even asked several times if they could change the date, and claimed she could come in then, and they refused. that's ridiculous that they're expecting her to come in when it's her week off and she's out of town. i mean they also explained they wanted her to come in because she missed the last meeting, but still they shouldn't expect her to come in when she obviously can't make it. now she's going to have to rearrange all her plans with her family and friends over one stupid meeting. so i told her "this is crap!" and left it at that. so, what do u guys think? has your job tried to enforce any unreasonable expectations on you?

I have school, but it's summer.. so yea it's vacation. 2 months. ;D

That sucks. But isn't it her week off or something. That's unfair. . . i would quit her job immediantly [ i cannot spell lol ] if it was mine.

My job doesn't make me do unreasonable things.. The owner is just an a**. He's a binge drinker and recently he took 10 hours off my paycheck and when I said that he did he said he'd "look into it" and I doubt he's gonna.

Maybe threaten him with the labor board? XD
