I was at my local Library and I was reading Deathnote volume 1 and told my friend about it and she wasn't sure if it would be any good so i let her borrow it. I told the manager that i was reading it as well and told her how awesome it is and wants to read it. (the manager is my friend... well all the librarians because I am there every day of every hour.) Well, i check the computer to see if they have Volume 3 (because i have 2 at home) and they didn't have it. So i told the manager if she could order all of them (thank god for taxes) and she said "yeah."
Yesterday I was looking up a book about Death (subject) and all the death note volumes were there! She really ordered them... they are in the process of being shipped to the library. So i reserved volume 3 and 4 already before anyone else! (just like harry potter and the deathly hollow)
So yeah, i am extremely excited because I don't have to buy them with my own money!

That's great. Where I'm at Manga isn't that popular. Luckily, like Chiaki, I'm able to find alot online. (Torrents are wonderful things)
I was fortunate enough to find a file with the whole series as well as several others and I've been reading Death Note for over a week. I decided to stop at the point where L died so I don't know anything about the events three years later with Near and the others. I'm saving that for after I've seen more of the anime.
It's really cool though that a library would be willing to stock manga for the public. I know there's alot of good stories in them and they appeal to a wide audience.

~Chiaki_Miharu I've read it all online xd Lucky you, our libary's full of weird manga hidden in the corner of our haunted libary eek I'm in the process of buying it though, I just bought volume three today I've downloaded it all....so I'm not too sure if I'll buy it at all...it's easier to hide in the computer, and it would be troublesome if my mom found any manga with Death Note printed on the front xp

I'd rather buy it, actually, though I love libraries. Because with buying it, I can read it whenever I want to without worrying about whether it's checked out or not. heart
And my library has a very VERY small collection of manga. The only thing I've seen there that was decent was Fruits Basket. sweatdrop

And the manga section...is in the most dirtest, darkest corner in the whole library!! I see spiders...Thats a perfect description of my library *says with a smile biggrin *

My library had the third, but the first two had been stolen. sad Someone gave me the first one heart , and I read the rest online. I think I'll buy the Japanese ones on Amazon, but I wanted to know what happened first. xd
Manga at my library: 1. They have odd volumes. (ex: 3, 5, 17, 17, 17, 23) 2. They are always the weirder series, like "Firefighter" 3. They are mixed in with other stuff or hidden away 4. The good series never see the shelves, and the waiting lists are months long. 5. Even if Ranma 1/2 v.28 is the most-requested book for 2 solid years, the library will not buy another copy.

Library? ...What is... Library?
12 has yet to be released in my area. I have 1-7, then 11. Why? Because I needed a Mikami referance. :[
