Ahote was lying by a small stream, just staring into the water. His eyes weren't focused, and he probably looked a little....sick or confused. But he was mulling something over in his mind, which was something the pony rarely did for long periods of time.
He had been here since his parting with Paco a few hours ago. During that time, he had been thinking on and off about what could have made the other Usdia be so cold to him. He had always considered himself to be happy and pleasant to be around, and usually made friends quite easily, but Paco seemed to want nothing to do with him. This upset Ahote quite a bit more than he thought it would.
He had never met another creature-Soquili, Usdia or otherwise- that he didn't make friends with. Paco seemed to be annoyed at Ahote's spunky attitude. Was he too much for others to tolerate? Was he becoming annoying?
These were the thoughts that were troubling him as he sat there under the willow tree by the quiet stream.

Upon arriving in this strange land everything seemed so incredibly huge. The trees, the mountains, even some hills were massive to one little usdia. But the thing that frightened her most was the fact no other usdia were around. All were these huge towering soquili that always looked down on the poor girl.
She frowned yet puffed out her little chest walking along ignoring everything being intimidating. So what? She was herself right? Who cared what others thought of her. Small was indeed beautiful, it just would be nice to actually feel 'bigger' now and then.
She mused with her head held high, forgetting who she was for the moment.
That's right I'm a big soquili and all look up to me. See that wasn't so bad, was it?
She moved along swishing her fluffy tail catching site of a lone little stallion. Wait? Did she say little in her mind or was it playing tricks on her?
Blinking her little feet nearly danced for indeed he was her size. But why was he so sad she wondered, or maybe he was just resting. No matter she'd say hi anyway since it would make her feel better.
"Hello there" she called hoping he wasn't going to chew her head off for startling him. Such a nice place he had chosen she agreed. Inhaling the sweetness of the air the willow willingly blew about around her.

Though usually quite good at hearing when there was another creature approaching, Ahote had not noticed the appearance of this grey mare. Apparently he had been too lost in his thoughts to notice. He quickly stood up, a little embarrassed, and bowed his head.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you coming. Um...my name is Ahote."
As he looked back up at the mare, he suddenly realized with a pleasant surprise that he had met yet another Usdia. A huge smile spread across his face and his feet shifted excitedly.
"Hey!! You're an Usdia! I keep finding more of us! Have you met any others?"
He suddenly stopped talking. This quick and excited stream of questions was his usual character, but in light of his most recent meeting, he stopped and thought about how others might take this behaviour. Perhaps he had been annoying to Paco, and that's why he had been so cold. And perhaps others found him annoying, too. He sighed, and his smile quickly faded.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so excited..."

She blinked with a smile shaking her head, more in shock another her size she'd run into. Now that he noticed her there was an awkwardness. What to say she wondered now that there was... wait he said more? There were more of her kind running around? This made her heart leap for joy literally.
"No no.. its all right. I feel the same way having met another my size" she nodded with happiness, "It seems that I'm a baby in a giant's world around here. Why everything is soooooo big compared to me."
She wasn't annoyed by the jubilant expression he had made. At least he didn't think her odd or boring.
"Hmm why do you seem so sad on such a pretty day? The sky is so nice and blue with fluffy clouds" she mused watching him thoughtfully. Perhaps he'd think her a fruit as much as she thought about her surroundings. Little Peaches always tried to look on the good side of the stream than the bad. It was very hard, if not impossible sometimes to try and have others respect and talk with you. But, she understood not everyone liked being around something shorter than yourself. She cared about everyone even if they wouldn't give her the time of day, that's just how she saw things in life.
"Its okay if you don't want to share, but I'm a good listener" she offered with a soft sweet voice. Maybe this little male would let her help. It was worth a shot to try at least and be compassionate to someone in need.

Ahote couldn't hold back a smile as he heard the other talk. She seemed very nice, and as he looked at her, he realized that she was also quite beautiful. Her grey coat was so smoothly coloured, and her blue eyes reminded him of the sky that she mentioned.
"I've seen a few others our size, but not many. But I have a feeling that there are a lot more of us out there! What's your name? I'm Ahote."
When she asked why he was upset, he sighed a bit and looked at the ground. The memory of Paco running off away from him, and just treating him like nothing flashed back into his mind. He sighed again, and decided to talk to the mare about what had happened.
"Well, I met this other Usdia. His name was Paco, and he looked like he was really beat up or something had happened to him. I tried to help him, and he asked me where he could find some water, so I showed him." He indicated towards the stream that they were standing next to now. "And I thought that when he was done drinking, we'd talk or something, but he just left. I think I was too excited and annoying, so he didn't want to be around me."
He sighed once more and waited to see what this mare would have to say about it.

Eyes of the overhead sky watched him quite excitedly since she'd never before met another of her kind. Now he spoke of more which caused a celebration to open within her tiny little mind. True, the bigger soquili were very nice especially the larger blue 'ice mare' named Celendria. She was very compassionate to include a frumpy little pony among those great ranks. It nearly made her head spin.
Feeling a bit embarrassed at not offering her name she nodded with apology, "Oh I'm Peaches. Terribly sorry for not saying that earlier and all." she smiled trying to recuperate from her silly forgetfulness sometimes.
Her thoughts though lingered to his tale about the other male whom basically was mean and unsocial. Why he that bad to talk to, she didn't mind if he got excited or silly. Peaches was simply thankful someone her size was giving her the time of day. No one would ever realize the complications of a pony trying to get attention from something that towered above you.
She finally then responded with a frown, "Well that wasn't very nice of him. I suppose some souls are like that if you think about it." she nodded with her own sadness, "But I try not to think of the bad things, stick with the good and everything falls into place. There's others out there, well going off what you said, and I'm sure not everyone is like that."
Peaches shifted her feet giving a slight shake to her shoulders and withers so her excited nerves would quell for a little. Pausing in her thoughts she turned to look at the sky momentarily, "I don't think your annoying at all, you're rather fun to talk to Ahote".
She turned her head back to face him smiling once more. Hopefully that would take that frown and replace it with his own smile. He did indeed look much nicer when his face shined with giddiness.

He smiled and shook his head.
"You don't have to apologize. But that's a different name. I've never heard that name before. Isn't that the name of a food? I think I've had one before, and I think that's what it was called. A peach. But it sounds nice."
He giggled a bit and listened to Peaches as she explained how she didn't mind his excitement. And now that he thought about it, Paco was the only one who had ever said anything about his exciteable nature. Everybody else seemed to enjoy Ahote's company. So why should he let one Usdia's bad mood change him? There was no reason to change!
"You're right! I'm going to stay exactly the way I am! And forget about Paco. He's the one who needs to change the way he acts!"
He let out a full laugh, rearing back on his hind legs a bit. He then looked back at Peaches. What a great new friend to have met!
"Do you want to play a game? They're lots of fun, and I'm really good at hide-and-seek!"

She watched him giggling softly with a nod of her head.
"See? not all of us are bad. Just some are sour apples in the tree we'll say." she smiled with another approving nod.
He wasn't that odd at all, fun to talk to and of her own kind. True she wished a lot more of the larger species would feel the same way, but when you're an ant in a giant's world it can be a little frustrating. Her main goal now was to ignore this fact, help him understand he's not an oddball, and simply be herself.
"OOh a game she piqued with a vigorous shaking of her head in approval, "I'd love to play one and laugh a little." she mused with a quick little flick of her tail, "Would you like to hide or seek?"
Her little hooves danced in place excited to try something different, for it was very hard to try and play solitary games with yourself. Rather boring little moments that made you look like you talked to yourself. Silly really for others to notice a lone creature trying to have a bit of fun.
She perked her ears ready to either be the hider or the seeker. Whichever it was bound to be fun and challenging at the same time.

Ahote's feet were dancing as well, as he was excited to hear that she was eager to play as well.
"Great! I'll hide! I'm really good at it. I bet you won't be able to find me!"
He giggled a bit and looked around quickly to see what options he had in the way of a hiding spot.
"Ok, you turn and face the tree, so you can't see where I'm going. And no peeking! Count to twenty, I think that should be enough time."
He waited for her to turn around, then trotted off over to a group of thicker trees. His eyes darted around as he tried to find a good spot. He suddenly spotted a bunch of branches that looked as though they had fallen out of the trees, and some other animal had collected them together in a pile. He dove at it, and buried himself in the leafy pile.
Ignoring the small pokes coming from the small branches, he breathed lightly and waited for Peaches to come and look for him.

((I hate my life currently.... slow responses *sigh))
Peaches beamed and tossed her head trotting over to the tree. She was so excited to have a friend her little hooves danced as she moved in a smooth little rhythm toward her place to begin. A silver little tail trailing soon after like a brush over the grass. Taking a deep breath she began counting.
"one, two, three, four, five" she counted, pawing the grass as she kept track of her numbers. It wasn't that she was dumb and uneducated, its just she lost track when her mind was too excited or rather occupied.
"Six, seven, eight, nine, ten" she continued with her eyes firmly closed, another pawing of the ground as well.
She listened with nothing but a chirping bird to taunt her, "Eleven, twelve, thirteen, thirteen, err whoops fourteen, fifteen" she counted feeling stupid about adding a number.
Almost there, almost done.
Taking a deep breath she finally finished, "Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen, Nineteen, " she grinned opening her eyes as she announced, "twenty".
Turning around that her tail swayed with her, followed by a shake of her punk like mane, she trotted off into the unknown.
"Ready or not.... Here I come!" she called trotting along seeking a place he'd be hiding in. So many things possible, so little time.

Ahote heard Peaches counting and giggled when she repeated "thirteen". It wasn't a mean giggle, and he definently wasn't making fun of her. But it did remind him of how excited he got sometimes and often forgot what he was doing.
As he heard her footsteps around him, he could tell that she was looking around, and wasn't sure yet where he was. He peeked through small holes in the pile of foliage he was hiding in, but couldn't see her. His range of vision was quite limited, so he didn't expect to see her in the first place.
As he continued to try to keep his breathing quiet, he heard something else running around on the ground around him. And suddenly, he could hear something climbing on top of his little hiding spot and he looked up as best he could in this cramped position. To his surprise, he saw two small, almond-shaped, dark brown eyes looking back at him. Apparently, this squirrel was looking for something in the pile, and hadn't expected to find Ahote hiding there. The little pony looked at it nervously as he heard Peaches' steps getting closer. The squirrel was going to give away his hiding spot!
"Go away!" he whispered. "I'm trying to hide here!"
But the squirrel didn't seem to understand him, and continued looking at Ahote, his tail flicking, and his head tilted to the side, a confused look on his face.

Peaches strained her little blue eyes searching. She sniffed once then tottered this way and that still thinking he was near there. She had a keen sense of finding things, and this wasn't no exception. So she continued her search shuffling this way and that till she noticed the squirrel looking intently upon something beneath it.
Hmm I wonder...
She walked slower this time toward the curious squirrel giggling to herself of what it was sitting upon. It could of been a simple mound of dirt, though dirt wasn't usually that round that she had seen. Perhaps the squirrel had buried something there like a nut or precious treasure she wondered.
Stepping closer she smiled keeping her voice very soft and friendly, "Why hello there little squirrel. Have you lost something under there? Would you like some help?" she asked with a mirth filled giggle thinking the creature might actually respond back to her. Waiting patiently, she continued to watch the pile of foliage still certain her quarry was hidden beneath.

Ahote heard Peaches approach the mound, and closed his eyes, as if that would actually help hide him. He chanced a look at the squirrel again and glared at it. He had given away his hiding place! Last time he trusted a squirrel!
He actually held his breath now, trying everything to keep Peaches from hearing him. This was the first time he had ever been found in hide-and-seek. Had he finally found somebody as good as he was? Nah, she just got lucky that the squirrel gave away Ahote's hiding place.

((Happy Early Birthday^^))
Peaches nosed about the mound feeling it soft texture. The squirrel stood there watching her than began digging away itself revealing bits of a fluffy mane owned by a certain stallion. Peaches noticed this little bit of hidden surprise and giggled pondering if she should let him there or call the game.
She shook her head at the squirrel with a laugh.
"You should give other's hiding places away. Its not fun when you're the one being found, is it Ahote?" she giggled standing back so he could pull himself up out of the roots and leaves he so conveniently buried himself within.
"I think" she giggled with a flick of her feathery tail, "That squirrels are bad at hide-n-seek. Maybe avoid the chattering fluffballs in our next round?"
Too short lived that game was. She hoped he'd still want to play at least. Perhaps maybe when she hid the squirrels wouldn't ruin her hiding place too.

((Thanks! <3))
As the squirrel revealed his hiding spot, Ahote raised his head to glare at it. But a second later, he laughed and found his feet, pushing himself up out of the mound, a wide grin on his face.
"You only found me because of that squirrel! It was a great hiding spot, wasn't it?"
He chuckled a bit and looked back at the squirrel, who seemed interested in their conversation, and was watching them intently. Looking back to Peaches, he was ready for another round.
"So do you want to hide now? I'll go count. And you've gotta find a good spot! I'm really good at finding, too!"
And he bounded off in the direction of the "counting tree", ready for the next round.
