Well, Picture Post is ignoring it, I had two people help for a while, but they're off now. So Art Fags, help?

See, I've been listening to lots of seventies music, and this girl just cropped up and I've been working on her for a while. I've been referencing this tutorial for reminders so far http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22707443/

What's bothering me is her face, especially her eyeline. She's supposed to be dancing with eyes closed, and the smile is making me happy. So it'd be preferable if the eyes could be made to suit the smile rather than the smile made to fit the eyes... if you know what i mean

and nostril placement

What else... any anatomical bits, OR HAND DRAWOVERS. Especially the hand on the right side of the picture (her left hand)

That's really well-done. I love the smile! It's infectious biggrin

The eyes looks a little too high. I think that's the entire problem. Where your lash line is now is perfect if her eyes were open.

When the eyes close, the upper lashes go to meet the lower ones. I know it's obvious, but what I try to do is to imagine the person on the paper moving like a real person would. She closes her eyes. Here is where the lashes are, now.

If she weren't grinning like that, her cheeks wouldn't be pushing up the eyes, causing them to arch. The lash line would look more straight.
See how the change in one facial feature affects the others?

Now check this out:

The only change is that I drew in some eyes. I used the same lash line you had.

Keep in mind that these pics are only rough sketches, since I'm using a mouse to draw them.

Nose:
I don't have much of a suggestion about the nostrils, other than "draw them" rofl
Here are some tips: http://www.portrait-artist.org/face/nose.html

"upper lashes go to meet the lower ones"

I had to read that a few times before my brain fully processed it. YES! IT IS TRUE! Must remember this very useful fact.

Also, with the eyes closed, would the space between eye and eyebrow be bigger? Checking it out in the mirror seems to make it so.

Your drawover also shows her right eye being moved down a little further than her left. This looks nifty to me and makes sense with the smile-angle. The concern I have is that I previously had the eyes a bit further down and it looked squashed. So... EYEBROWS! YES! HER RIGHT EYE HAS TO BE MOVED DOWN BECAUSE IT IS ALSO TOO CLOSE TO HER EYEBROW!

Obvious things take a while for me to notice.
