I'm suprised this wasn't here yet, so I'm adding it. Say what you want, as long as it's about FMA.

FMA was one of those animes that did a total 180. There were times when I thought it was going to be some really goofy anime and that I wouldn't be a fan of it. When I started the anime I didn't see it from the beginning, but the thing that made me a huge fan of it was the episode, "Mother."
I really loved that episode and I even cried. Yes, I cried. You got to see the lengths they would go to in order to save the person they loved the most.
FMA had a great mixture of genres. There was action, comedy, drama, and more.

They played it until the end. In fact AS as rerun it over a dozen times. I really liked the movie. At first I wasn't a fan of the movie, but after watching it the second time around I understood it more and enjoyed it.

Bleach_Fan101-Neha- huh it got cancelled when when when Ya, they ended the series with the movie. I think the series got up to around 50 something episodes... I'll go checkEDIT: (This is what I found on Wikipedia)
The manga is still running in Japan, and 17 volumes have been released so far. The anime, on the other hand, is finished, and consists of 51 episodes and a full-length movie sequel. Both incarnations (the manga and the anime) have seen massive popularity in both Japan and North America. The series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix prize in 2003. In September 2005, the anime was voted #1 most popular anime of all time in Japan in a TV Asahi web poll, and was #1 again in 2006. In 2005, Anime Insider named it "Series of The Year."

I loves that series!!!! I like the manga more than the anime, though. The last episode made me cry when I first saw it!!!
It's a really good series though. Sorta realistic in a way. sorta.
