 This is Cicero and DTT's attempt at the most overdone pairing in the fandom. YAY !!! blaugh Yes, Cicero the GaaNaru nazi will attempt having Sasuke and Naruto together....I know, what's the world coming to. sweatdrop

Sasuke wandered around the forest in some country unknown to him as he searched for Itachi. He was glad that Orochimaru was gone, or at least not a threat anymore. He was almost happy about it, if such a thing were possible.( Oh god, stop my breathing and slit my throat emo )

Naruto happened to be in the same forest of Sasuke (come on, where has all the creativity gone?!). He was on a rather lame mission of retrieving something for a merchant in Konoha.... Fortunately, since it was a decently-safe mission, he'd been allowed to go alone. With a yawn, he wandered down one of the only pathways in the forest, utterly bored. He'd gotten the item(the dude wanted pinecones! Like he couldn't get them from the area around konoha! but, nooo... it had to be from this random forest...), and was now just taking his time heading back.
"That old lady will have to give me a better mission when I get back... believe it!" He said to himself. He grinned to himself as he thought of the bowl of ramen Iruka promised him when he got back.
(( go ahead and stab me whenever I start screwing up, BTW >> ))

( *stabs* Naruto has never in his entire life said 'believe it'. The American cartoon LIES scream ) Sasuke jumped up into one of the trees to see if he could spot a village where he might be able to find some info about Itachi's whereabouts. He looked around and spotted something bright and orange moving around near the forest floor. He jumped from one tree to another until he could better see what the orange moving thing was. His heart sped up. ' It's that dobe...all alone...'

Naruto didn't seem to be aware of Sasuke watching him. However, he did stop after a few moments to look skywards. It was starting to get dark(randomly, out of the blue), and he was tempted to make camp. It wasn't like the forest had any Akatsuki-member hunting Uchiha, or anything... Giving off a small yawn, the blond began scouting around for a place to set up a small tent. He found a clearing by a small hotspring-fed pond and grinned at his luck. The thoughts of ramen still lingered on his mind, but he noted it would probably be hard to see once the sun set.
Quickly setting up his tent, Naruto gathered wood for a fire, and sat down with some pieces of flint to work on starting it. Man... If only that teme were here.... he thought, then shook his head. "He'd just tell me to do it myself..." he mumbled to himself, letting out a sigh.

' That's it...this is my chance to get him out of my life once and for all' Sasuke thought as he drew his katana. There was a vague nagging in the back of his head that told him to listed to what his former team mate might have to say, but he wouldn't even admit it to himself that such an urge existed within him. He jumped out of the tree and brought down the sword, aiming for the exact center of Naruto's back.( YAY!!! blaugh FF7 parody!!! rofl )

Naruto had heard something behind him, and turned to stare at the oncoming Uchiha with wide, surprised, eyes(Chibi-cuteness-beam... engaged!). He managed to move out of the way enough to not get seriously damaged, but Sasuke's sword caught his shoulder and he let out a small cry. Rolling to the side, he stared at the raven-haired male as he clutched his bleeding shoulder. "S-Sasuke-T-Teme..." the blond mumbled.

Sasuke grabbed Naruto's uninjured shoulder and pushed him back against a tree. He brought his sword against Naruto's throat and said " What are you doing here? Thought you'd come to find me alone? Well I'll tell you what. I'm going to be nice. If you leave now and stay the hell out of my way I'll wait until I'm done killing Itachi before I find you and kill you."

Naruto's head was leaned back, as to not allow any pressure against his throat from the sword. "C-C-rank... mission..." he mumbled out, his eyes flitting over to where he'd set the pinecones collected. He would've said something else to his rival and used-to-be best friend, however, it was kind-of dangerous when the Uchiha had a sword pressed to his throat, and a deathly gleam in his eyes.
"W-Why are you looking for I-Itachi-teme here, dattebayo?" Naruto then mumbled, giving a feeble smile. Both shoulders were throbbing a bit by now, and he was still in a state of shock at seeing Sasuke.

Naruto remained standing there, watching Sasuke walk away for a moment. Suddenly, he grabbed a kunai and charged at the Uchiha. "Like hell i'm gonna let you go again!" he growled, over the state of shock, for now. As he charged, he formed familiar seals. "Kage Bunshin(sp?) no jutsu!" the blond shouted, and four clones appeared, each with a kunai at hand. They all moved to surround Sasuke. He didn't even think that Itachi might be there because of him and the Kyuubi.

( now if this were the real manga Sasuke would just use his amazing space time distortion cheap a** no jutsu to escape...but since I'm controlling him that ain't happening stare ) " Put your clones away you dumb a**." Sasuke then got a playful smirk on his face " Why don't you want me to go? It's too late to go back. I can't go back to Konoha. I'm considered a criminal there. Is it because of your selfish wish for me to be close to you...to save you all the time just like how is was all those years ago?"

The clones stopped moving, though they were around Sasuke, now. They stared at him, panting a little as blue orbs fixated on the male between them. "It's different, now, teme." Naruto grunted. "I can save my own a**, now. It's yours I get to save, this time." I still don't get it... The clones and real form shifted forwards for an attack. It seemed the blond intended on injuring, or knocking out the Uchiha- not killing him.

"No, dattebayo!" Naruto growled. One clone aimed for Sasuke's head, as a pair aimed for his arms. One went to his back, and the last went for the stomach. Somewhere in the midst was the real Naruto (obviously), and there was a bit of blood splattering the ground from his shoulder. "If you hate me so much, why won't you attack?"
