Bungie has never liked the idea of Sergeant Johnson being immune to the Flood. They retconned it in the HGN. Turns out, to them, it makes more sense that he's just one hell of a badass soldier. So they dropped the immunity. This begs the question: Why is it so important that Avery Johnson not be immune to the Flood? I see two possibilities. 1) Immunity to the Flood lowers their potency. If a symptom of a syndrome is enough to grant a strong resistance to Flood control, could ONI replicate this? Bungie doesn't want that to be left open. 2) The Good Sergeant gets "Floodified" in Halo 3. Why else retcon his immunity? Could make for a powerful moment in dramatic storytelling... please discuss here

I hope he's still a marine and not a flood in that game. I highly believe it won't happen. I love Johnson motivation speech. Makes me want to kill an a Elite! XD

In one of the graphic novels it explains why sarge is immune to the flood SPOLIER ALERT, MAGNIFY AT OWN RISK JOHNSTON, durring an assult on some ship or planet captured, and used an entire crate of plasma grenades, and was affected by radation. The radiation kept the flood from mutating hiom because they didnt like the taste.

I hate Johnson, he gets told to press a button simple as, go up that tower and press that button and he fails and needs the arbiter and master chief to go and help him... >_> Idiot I'm glad he's dead
