(it's summer in this story ^^ )

In a valley between the cloud-covered mountains, Where the sun sent its' light down like a blanket of warmth for the lost jungle. The sent of wild flowers filled the air and the trees surrounding the patches of flowers seemed to touch the clouds. A few meters away from the border of the trees and the patches of flowers, was a cave big enough and roomy enough to be a mid-sized dorm. A little further near the cave, a small river and little waterfalls lead further down the mountains to the ever- flourishing jungle. Birds sang a melody from an unknown song of nature. "Kyo *laugh * the attacks like this. *Punches straight into air * see it's not naturally straight so don't let the name fool you… but even I get it wrong sometimes." Kyo smiles, "Well you'd think straight punch would mean its name… Oh well no one said martial arts was gunna be easy and the harder the techniques the easier it'd be to beat that damn Yuki!" Kyo laughs, "All thanks to you of course." "Kyo wake up…" "Huh?" "Kyo!"

Kyo quickly sat up in his bed, "Shigure what the? What are you doing in my room?!" "Well, first of all you were making noise in your sleep and your sweating like you got a fever… Are you sick?" "NO! Why would I do a stupid thing like that?!" Kyo said as he wipes his head with his hands to feel cold sweat then wipes his head with his blanket. "You know Kyo… Your dreams are getting worse I mean you've lost a lot of sleep since you came back from the mountains." Kyo flinched at the same realization as he got out of his bed. "Why wont you tell me what there about?" Kyo doesn't look at Shigure but continues to walk out the door. "You really want to know why?" Shigure followed Kyo downstairs, "Of course I whanna know." "Well the reason I haven't told you yet is because… IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSNESS!! That's why and because it doesn't matter anyway." Tohru pops out of nowhere, "Good morning!" "Ah!" Shigure and Kyo both jumped. Shigure was the first to regain composure, "Good morning Tohru good sleep?" "Yes, really good thanks. Shi what doesn't matter? Or is it a secret? I can keep a secret can you tell me?" Shigure smiles and Kyo just walks off. "I'm trying to get the story on the bad dreams haunting Kyo. He won't tell me though." Tohru started to look sad until Yuki came in, "Don't worry about the stupid cat he's just probably dreaming about me kicking his butt everyday that's all." Yuki smiles. "That's not true! Why would I dream of something so stupid!" Shigure smiles, "Then who do you dream about Kyo? Inquiring minds would like to know." "I told you she doesn't mater! I mean… never mind leave me alone." Kyo walked outside and sat on the porch staring into the sky. Tohru and Yuki walk to the kitchen to make breakfast and Shigure goes to sit next to Kyo grinning slyly, "Ah, now we're getting somewhere, so who is she? Is she the one you dream about every night? Come on you might as well tell me you know I'll just keep digging for the answer." Kyo looked at Shigure, "She is none of your business, but yah she's the one I dream about." Shigure smiled lightly, "So what happened? What was she like?" Kyo looked to the sky again and smiled, "She was great I mean she could break a bolder with one hand and her fighting skills were unmatched!" Kyo jumps up like an excited little boy, "Man her training was hard but it was amazing! I mean even that damn rat wouldn't be able to touch her! And she was beautiful and sang like an…"

Kyo blushes then looks at Shigure, as if forgetting he was there he then sits down and looks to the sky, "Never mind." Shigure finishes, "like an angel." Kyo looked at Shigure, "yah… angel." Tohru pops outside, "Breakfast is ready!" Shigure and Kyo jump again in surprise, "Danget! You always do that! Can't you just appear like a normal person! Gees!" Kyo gets up and storms to the dinning room to eat breakfast. "I didn't mean to scare him again." Shigure smiles, "He'll get over it lets eat!" Tohru smiles happily, "Right!" with that Shigure and Tohru walked to the dinning room to join Yuki and Kyo.

After eating breakfast, Tohru brought out cards to play with everyone. "This time lets play poker! My mom was a great poker player and then she taught me how to play!" Tohru said happily while dealing out the cards. Shigure looked at Kyo with curiosity showing on his face. "What did she look like?" Yuki and Tohru looked at Kyo confused, "what?" Shigure smiled, "Your training partner, what did she look like besides beautiful?" Kyo looked at his cards obviously thinking about something. "She… she had long silver hair that reflected even the tiniest light. Eyes that changed colors depending on how she felt… like a mood ring. I mean it was like she could read your thoughts and your emotions." He put two cards down and Tohru passed him another two. "She liked to laugh and smile a lot even in training… She was probably an inch taller than Thoru. A little pale but that was only because she was a… never mind. She loved to fight and sing *he laughed * sometimes I'd catch her even dancing… she was a beautiful dancer." Kyo put down his cards, "Four queens." Yuki smiled, "Royal flush" "Damn rat." "Yuki's turn to pass out cards! Kyo keep talking about her she sounds really nice." Tohru said smiling while Yuki deals the cards. Shigure smiled, "Well was she nice?" Kyo smiled, "Of course she was! Probably the nicest and most competitive person I'd ever met… we'd race all over the mountains and a bunch of stuff like that… it was the best time of my life till…" Yuki paused in dealing the cards. Kyo's face looked as if he was a ghost and giving out a silent cry. "until what Kyo?" Shigure asked. "She taught me how to cook from scraps and make it taste good but I thing she cooked great although she hardly ate she" "Until what Kyo? Stop avoiding the subject." Shigure said lightly. "She was a half-breed half vampire and human so every now an then she'd cry and not stop for hours but I helped that… I told her that I'd never let anything harm her and what ever made her cry I'd help her through it." Kyo looked as if recalling something. "She didn't like blood very much so I was safe from that… I never told her that I … I couldn't save her! I couldn't!" Kyo's eyes were rimming with tears that he was trying to hold back. Shigure moved his chair to sit next to him, "Kyo what happened? Tell me." Kyo buried his face in his hands and continued, "We were just having fun training when she told me she liked me *he laughed though his throat seemed like it was trying to choke him * can you believe it she loved me… I was scared at first but I never told her it back but I think… I hope she knew. I really hope she knew." Tohru had tears in her eyes and sniffled, "I think she knew." Yuki stared at Kyo, "What's wrong Kyo scared to tell us what happened to her?" Kyo glared as mean as he could with tear rimed eyes, "I'm not scared you stupid rat! She was murdered! Get it murdered! And I couldn't save her there were too many of them! Vampire hunters somehow tracked her and killed her right in front of me! They held me back… there were just too many… We fought as best as we could… I almost thought we could make it… They killed her…" Kyo gets up and starts to walk away, "Leave me alone now, I'll see you guys in the morning… and I don't whanna hear a word outta you Yuki got it!" Yuki nods and deals cards to Tohru and Shigure as Kyo walks to his room and closes the door. Kyo sighs and lets his tears fall down his face as he lies down to sleep the day away and prepare for a restless night.

"Ha, ha! Look Kyo! It's raining! I love the rain." Savanna walked out of the dim cave in to the rain. Kyo followed but stopped to lean on the side still sheltered from the rain. Savanna lifted her hands to the sky as if the sky can lift her off the ground and spun around in circles. "Savanna." Kyo smiled as she stopped to look at him with a huge smile on her face. "You know your going to get sick out there right?" Savanna just laughed, "Kyo don't be a worry wart I'm just having fun… The rain is like a cleansing to the earth! Washing all the bad away to bring new life… Like the flowers!" Kyo smiled and left the shelter to the cave to join savanna in the mid-warm shower of rain. "Interesting, the rains warm." Kyo pointed out. "Yep! It feels great… Kyo…" Kyo looked at her still smiling taking her hand in his. "You know you look good wet." Savanna smiled, "Kyo" she sighed, "Yah what's wrong." His face showed concern that made her look away, "If I ever turn into… you know a full blood vampire… I just want you to know I'll never harm you." Kyo kissed her hand and smiled, "I know Savanna, and I trust you. Now lets go back into the cave the weather's dropping I don't want you or me to get sick."

"Kyo! Danget wake up! You're dreaming again!" Kyo opened his eyes lazily, "Shigure?" "Yep who'd you think it was? You girl friend?" Kyo grabbed his pillow and smacked him on the side of his head. "No, her voice was hypnotizing… Yours just scares people and smells… Shi did you drink out of the toilet this morning?" *Smack! * Shigure hit Kyo on the head. "No, stupid cat but I wouldn't mind sticking your head in the toilet sounds fun." Kyo got out of bed, "For you maybe." Shigure looked at Kyo and smiled, "You look better but I don't think your going anywhere because of the fact…" Kyo looked at Shigure irritated, "What fact! That you keep coming into my room?" Shigure shook his head and walked out of the room with Kyo not too far behind. "The fact that it's raining!" He said happily. "Really! Great! I'll be out on the porch if anyone needs me." "What? Why?" Kyo ran to the front door, "Because I like it when it rains it's like it cleanses the earth!" Tohru walks toward Kyo and smiles, "That was beautiful! Oh yah, good morning!" Yuki walked in, "It wasn't beautiful it was cheesy where'd you get a stupid phrase like that?" Kyo turns around angrily and punches Yuki! The whole house went quiet, "You hit me?" Shigure came out of his shocked state, "Wow Kyo I would have never guessed you'd even land a punch on Yuki but I guess even you would have your days huh?" Kyo just stood there staring at Yuki angrily. Tohru was so shocked that she fell over. As she got up, she had a questioned look on her face. "What just happened Shi?" Tohru asked. "My guess… That was what Savanna said, right Kyo?" Kyo just looked at Yuki with a blank look now, all the fight left him as fast as it came. "I'm sorry Kyo" Yuki said in a low voice. Kyo turned his back to him, "I don't need a rats apologies so don't waist them on me got it!" Yuki nodded still in shock that Kyo hit him. "I'll be out side," Kyo said but as he opened the door and looked up, "Savanna!" A girl with wet silver hair almost covering her face was standing near the front door in the rain. "I just like the rain" she smiled as she looked at Kyo, "It's like a cleansing of the earth…" Kyo finished. "Kyo! It is you!" Kyo walked into the rain just a few inches away from Savanna, when she ran in to his warm embrace. "Savanna! I missed you so much." Although it was unnoticeable to the others, Savanna knew that Kyo was crying tears of joy. Little did she know was that she was crying too.

After breakfast Kyo walked outside to be unnoticed again. "Savanna?" Kyo said in almost a whisper. Savanna turned around swiftly, jumped up to hug Kyo. After almost knocking him over they sat on the porch saying nothing to each other as they watched the clouds roll by. Kyo glanced over to study Savanna's face. She was almost motionless, like a hand carved statue. Why are your eyes so empty? There's no color in them they're just black… I guess I can ask the question my dream told me to… Ha! Dreams what do they know? Thought Kyo. "Savanna… Do you remember the first time we met?" Kyo said with a fake smile on his face. She smiled innocently, "Of course I do! We went swimming in a lake and camped out in the woods to watch the stars! It was great I was so happy that night." Kyo flinched. No it can't be! It can't! My dream… Savanna! "Yah, It was great remember the shooting star?" Kyo said covering up his thoughts. Savanna smiled happily, "Yah! I loved it." I'm sorry I didn't believe you Savanna… who is this pretending to be you? I got to do something… Tomorrow I'll see your true form who ever you are and I'll be ready. Kyo didn't talk the rest of the time, just sat there deep in his thoughts. It was early afternoon before either of them spoke again. "Savanna I have to go get ready for tomorrow night… I'll be right back ok?" Savanna looked at him a little confused, "What's tomorrow night?" Kyo forced a smile, "It's a surprise I have for you so no questions or peeking got it?" She smiled and turned back to the clouds. "I got it… I got a surprise for you too." Kyo turned around and went inside the house. Kyo looked around for anyone near, when he saw no one he let the tears fall from his eyes, "It's bad enough I lost you once but now I have to kill the creature that took your form… You have no idea how I feel right now." Shigure and Yuki entered the room suited up like gothic hunters. "Suck it up stupid cat that's not her so get over it." Yuki said calmly. Yuki had a crossbow in one hand and a metal pipe in the other hand. Shigure had knives and a crossbow also. "What in the world are you guys supposed to be? She's not a vampire you idiots… You guys look so ridicules you know that?" Kyo laughed. Shigure smiled, "I'm glad you're so amused because you have one too." Kyo stopped laughing, "What about Thoru? Is she in the same get-up as you two?" Yuki smiled lightly, "No, She went to her friends house. I wouldn't want anything to happen to her, so get ready Kyo because we have to kill this demon before tomorrow." Kyo backed away from them and stopped suddenly, "Wait a minute how did you guys know about this?" "Do you really think you were the only one Savanna visited last night? Man she was pretty though I can see why you fell in love with her. She had a really nice a" *Smack! * "If you finish that sentence Shigure I'll kill you myself!" Kyo threatened. "Stop fighting you two she'll start to suspect something if we're loud now Kyo get dressed and load your weapons. We got a demon to kill." Yuki said casually. Kyo walked to his room to get dressed as Shigure and Yuki stayed downstairs but as soon as he saw the leather pants and a long sleeve shirt he laughed, "You bunch of idiots this stuff is going to be too hot… I guess I can just use the weapons and the belt." He grabbed a cross bow and a couple of daggers. As he stuck the daggers through his belt he started to feel awkward. "Man I going to kill my girlfriend… I hope your with me Savanna because if your not, when I die… You'll see." Kyo sighed and started to walk downstairs until he herd something… Someone… I'm always with you Kyo. Well fight together like before! Kyo smiled to hear her voice again and walked downstairs to join Shigure and Yuki. "Don't screw this up rat because if you die I'll kill you" Kyo threatened. Yuki smiled, "Stupid cat, if I were die I'd already be dead. You might want to think about what you say." Kyo shook his head and looked out the window. "Ready?" Shigure asked. Kyo just sighed, "As ready as I'll ever be, what about you guys? Don't plan on taking her lightly because she's a girl… She's a great fighter." Yuki smiled, "Trust me we weren't planning to." The three guys walked to the door and slid it open quickly. "Where is she?" Shigure asked. They walked out to the porch cautiously. "Well Kyo where's your demon?" Yuki asked tauntingly. Kyo just stood there unmoving but ready to shoot his crossbow. Focus Kyo she's here ahead of us can you see her? "Yes" Kyo said as he aimed at his target. Shigure and Yuki just looked at Kyo as if he were nuts. "Kyo are you feeling ok?" Shigure asked. "Can it! I'm fine." Now Kyo! Shoot now! Kyo fired his crossbow causing the demon to come out of its invisible state. "HA! You found me! Your smarter than I thought Kyo." She said taking the arrow out of her shoulder. "Damn it! Shoot!" Kyo yelled to the others. Suddenly arrows were being shot one after another. She just laughed as the arrows would get only inches and then fall to the floor. It's not working Kyo! You and the others have to get in for close combat! You can do it Kyo I believe in you, just remember how we fought together. "Got it. Guys stop firing it's not getting passed her defenses. Close combat is the only way to inflict damage." Kyo said. She smiled again, "I'm sorry love but there not the ones I want to fight. I want to fight you! But my friends would like to have a go with your family." Yuki took a step forward. "What is she talking about?" She laughed, "Dark spirits of the earth arise and do my bidding, they need to be taught a lesson, ARISE!" zombies rose out of the ground and surrounded her. "Now lets see how well you fight the already dead… Kyo's mine! Tear the others to pieces!" she ordered. Yuki turned to Kyo, "Hurry up and kill her or we're all dead." He said calmly. Kyo nodded and charged to the demon. Knife in hand and swung it at anything that came in his way. "Fool! You think you can beet me? When it was my own hands that slaughtered your true beloved like cattle? Then I shall show you my true form!" Kyo got within inches of her before a blast of light and black fire forced him to shield his eyes and his face. Yuki and Shigure were fighting the undead like warriors of the past. "Danget! How do we kill them?!" Shigure yelled backing away but still swinging knives around. "I don't know but I think they'll leave if the demon is killed so we have to keep fighting." Yuki called back knocking off heads with his pipe. "I hope your right Yuki because I think demon lady's gunna show her true face." Yuki glance towards Kyo to see black flames come up from the ground and vanish, leaving behind a monster. Seven feet tall ,four eyes that seemed pitch black, spikes at least a foot long coming out from its back, a dragon like tail with blades shaped like an axe at the end, eight fingered raptor hands including claws, along with rows of teeth like a sharks formed in its dog-like mouth and… "Haven't you ever heard of a tic-tack?" Kyo yelled at the beast. "Why you pest!" The beast raised its clawed hand in the air and swung at Kyo. Luckily Kyo dogged it just in time. "So! You got a name ugly? Or should I just call you that?" Kyo said with a smirk while dodging the beast clawed swings. "Ha! You actually think you're worth even hearing my true name?" IT swung again and barely missed Kyo. "Well, fine! My true name is Tundra Demon of the dark flame and believe me that's the last name you'll ever here!" Tundra grabbed Kyo swiftly and threw him as far as to where Yuki and Shigure were. "Have a nice flight?" Yuki said fighting Zombies away from him. "Stop laying around Kyo! I have to go to the bathroom!" Shigure yelled. Kyo stood up and laughed. "What are you laughing at!" Tundra yelled. "Well isn't it obvious I'm laughing at you! Or did you not notice yet that you're missing an arm?" "Huh?" Tundra looked at her right arm, which was now, not there. She looked at Kyo who was smiling and now charging straight at her. "You idiot! I'll make you pay!" Out of nowhere her tail grabbed Kyo and wrapped him so tightly it was difficult to breath. "I'll make you suffer Kyo!" She squeezed tighter making Kyo spit out blood. "Ha! I bet even now you are losing your breath… Shame I was starting to like you." She squeezed so hard that even Yuki and Shigure heard the breaking of Kyo's ribs. "Kyo!" Yuki called "No! Don't give in Kyo!" Shigure called. But to Kyo they became an echo in the darkness as the light faded and he breathed his last. " Pity, he was no fun at all no matter I'll watch my minions finish you guys off." Tundra turned and walked towards Yuki and Shigure laughing aloud.
