So you want to make a thread in one of the three roleplay areas, huh?
Follow this chart for easy step-by-step instruction:
Thread Title/Subject: Clearly state the location of your roleplay right in the title and provide a description of the area in your front post. Also, if you wish, state the number of people you will let into your roleplay. Once a roleplay in a certain area is finished, add the word FINISHED to your title in caps. That way you can make another thread in the same place, but allow different people into it.
ie:
CAFE 56 (Five people only, please)
This place sits at the corner of a ravaged neighborhood. It doesn't get much business due to the crime rate (You can go on to describe in the inside of the building from here such as what kind of tables it has, wallpaper, etc).
Posting Order: Wait for people to post that they are joining. Once you have the number you want, add the word CLOSED to your thread title to signify that no one new should join. Establish an order in which the people in your roleplay will post.
Jim: Hi can I join?
Bob: I'd like to rp here, please.
Der Schlachtkreuzer von Deutschland: Joining
Thread Maker: Ok guys. Posting order is me, Jim, Schlacht, and then Bob.
All: Ok
Posting: Stick to your order and you should be ok. If someone has to leave for the night, do not break the order unless you have their permission to do so. If someone is leaving for weeks? Break the order and skip them. I wouldn't wait a month for someone.
Jim runs around in circles and then falls over (Guys I gtg)
Der Schlachtkreuzer von Deutschland makes such an impressive post that Agent Schuler can't even think of words to properly convey how awesome it is. (That's ok, we'll wait for you.)
Bob puffs at his cigar and grins.
Thread Maker makes a post and then waits for Jim to come back and post the next day.
Exceptions/Notes:
*If you want to reserve a thread for certain people, put the word RESERVED in your thread title and then add FINISHED once you've finished. It's a good idea to PM these people first to make sure they want to RP with you before making the thread.
ie: DARK ALLEY - RESERVED
*If you have already put CLOSED in your title and someone asks to join, make sure it's ok with everyone else before letting them in.
*If you don't want to limit the number of people in your thread, it will be almost impossible to finish it. People will just keep joining and posting. Forever. gonk
*It is possible to make several settings in one thread, especially if it's going to be a chase scene. The settings can either be listed in the front post like this:
Acceptable settings for this thread: Rooftop, stairwell, office building, lobby, elavator.
Or they can come up in the roleplay itself if someone jumps out a window and lands on a truck etc.
