I was just trying to trade someone for elemental hair. He sends the trade and the trade is a giftbox. Now believe me that's just the greatest set-up for a scam. Of course the dang hair ain't in there.... So I declined the trade and pmed him telling him. If it is the hair take out of the giftbox and send the trade again.
His response was. and I quote with his exact spellings and all.
i feel yuh and everything but i hate trading outsideof the box .. ive done it for 2 years now and your like the second only person ive had trouble with !! just do the trade im trust worthy i promise !! im an ex moderator and i just liek gift boxes thats all!
Now this is a exact quote...See how he claims to be a ex-moderator? One I'm sure a person of moderator stature wouldn't have such atrocious spellings... So I suggest to send my trade in a giftbox as well.
His response:well whats the big deal alls i want to do is trade to you what you want .. is that so hard.... just do the trade itll be easy and simple and dont have to make this any harder then it really is !!!
SO guys what do you think? Is he trying to swindle me? (sarcasm)

Good point for a discussion. It depends as well, I suppose. People want to scam, but they don't expect you to be much of an idiot - just trustworthy. It's quite easy to recognise a scam when you see one and I'm damn sure that the one you just encountered is a real scam. They're stupid, and they think we're thick, that's all. I hate scammers - they should be banned from the internet forever. >>

As do I. I've actually been on gaia since 5/03 If I remeber my dates correctly. I've been hacked twice and the second time the hacker got my good account banned. and my god was I pissed about it... I used to have a ninja headband, full mithrill armor set. The list could go on for awhile. I had some pretty expensive items. Which is only putting it lightly. I've been scammed once and that's when I learned my lesson. But good thing it wasn't really expensive.

Wow.. you're an old member. I've only been here since August 2006 and thankfully, I never got hacked before during my time here. >< Still, I've heard of people getting hacked all the time and one of my friends always warned me about hackers everywhere. I hope I never get hacked. If I do, then I would hope that they leave my account untouched and just take my items. ._.

hacking sucks! i have been on gaia since 01/04 and i got my account hacked.... it had more then what i have on this one... and it upset me so much i almost left gaia all togeather... but i am still here and helping people out becasue i do not want to see the same thing happen to them ^^
