The topic pretty much says it all. If you need more specifics, the type of swimming I'm talking about is just pretty much doing laps of the 4 main strokes (mostly freestyle). I think it would be anaerobic, 'cause you're pulling and kicking water/resistance, but I'm not sure.

I'd say it depends on the type of swimming. If you're just going along at your own speed, not stressing too much, then its probably anaerobic. But if you get going all hardcore, or are a speed swimmer, then its definetly aerobic. Swimming is amazingly good excersise

It depends on what type of swimming you're doing, as Nimmie said. If you're just swimming, then it's anaerobic. 3nodding

So... a race at a swim meet would be aerobic and swim practice (doing lots of laps but not at full speed) would be anaerobic?
