Set after 'The Adventure Begins!' .. Created new thread since its.. no longer beginning and is actually midway. o_O;

Later that morning, Edward awoke with the sun, and was seen still next to Lilianna... but busily writing on a parchment with a pen in his left paw. His chin leaning against his raised automail paw as he seemed to be thinking about what to write... occassionally adding to the half written letter to Bryna. Golden gaze seemingly far away has he thought. The sea breeze ruffling his bangs lightly and the tail of his red coat which he now wore. His clothes having dried overnight after taking that dunk in the ocean and then getting washed in fresh water.
Eyes finally lifted to look towards the horizon where the sun was rising. He wondered where they would be going today. Setsumi and Ronan didn't seem to care to disclose much information about this trip... and he couldn't help but wonder what Ronan had really been wanting in that dark and dangerous part of the desert.

"What's this? You actually keep a diary?" White eyes looked jokingly, though somewhat tiredly, over the shoulder of the fullmetal. The childish handwriting on the parchment left Ronan remembering the floating kit at HQ. That's write, they had promised to write letters back and forth. Blue paws stepped quietly off the palms, noticing the red femme still sound asleep. Cool sand sank under his weight as he stretched his back and front legs. Ugh, too short of a nap. Black lined ears layed lazily on both sides of his face, a yawn escaping him. Hmm, not going to be in a talkative mood today.
Shoulders shuddered lightly at the chilly wave, more so as it left her pelt for the morning air to n**. The feathered kitsu had woken somewhat early this morning, just enjoying the sight. But, they'd be leaving the beach shortly this morning. Purple paws kneaded at the smooth mud under her, having layed on her tummy at the shoreline. A soft tune hummed at her lips numbly, too low to be understood. Feathered tails lagged with soaked water weight, though feathers gleamed in the cleansing. The others should all be up and ready soon.

Liliana stirred at Ronan's voice, blinking in confusion that she had slept in so late. She never slept past dawn. Green eyes looked around sleepily, wondering why she might have been so tired -not quite thinking she may have worn herself out more than usual using her mother's healing gift even to only assess. It was still a new ability for her, who had spurned her mother & anything Nari might have taught her for so long.
She smiled and nuzzled the busy alchemist lightly so as not to disturb him while writing then rose and stretched gracefully. "Morning."
As she stretched and moved the pearl slid across the palm fronds. Lily turned at the motion, looked worried that it would get away and paused midway through one of her stretches to get it and put it in her bag before it could get lost.

Edward looked slightly annoyed as Ronan spoke and peered over his shoulder. He was one of the types that didn't like others looking over his shoulder when he was writing. However, Lilianna awoke and his attention turned towards her. "Hey Lily, good morning" he said lightly, passing the letter and pen towards her, "Have anything you'd like to write to Bryna?" a nuzzle being given back to her.

Seeing as the others were all still laying about, Ronan slid onto his tummy. Only to hop right back up and shake off the cool kissed sand. He was a kitsu that enjoyed the heat, and the nippy morning air was anything but that. "Eh." Wordlessly, he padded up the slope to the line of palms, eyes narrowing in on one. Once he reached the tall plant his blue paws began work on digging through the soft sand.

Ed's question made a smile light in her face & eyes. "Sure!" Lily's white & gold tails wagged happily & she turned to peer over him to see what he'd written, though he had passed the paper to her.
Giggling softly she rested her head between his ears Liliana waved her wand to control the pen. She could have used her paw directly, but she was better at that laying down and now upright -and accustomed to moving first thing anymore- this felt better. Plus... some odd spark in her felt it would be fun.
She frowned only an instant as she paused in her writing, working on the right wording. Then she smiled as she finished, setting her wand away and licking the top of Edward's ear before dancing away. "Be right back."
There was something she had to take care of. But maybe she could find something for everyone to eat on the way back. Not that she would be going far.

A glance was given in Ronan's direction as he moved away, then Ed blinked as Lily's head rested between his ears... watching as she added her own words to the letter that he had written. An ear flicked when she announced that she would be right back. "Okay.." he replied, watching her move off before returning to his letter to finish it and then fold it up, placing it in a pocket.
Standing up, Edward stretched briefly and then meandered over in Setsumi's direction. Golden gaze glancing back at Lilianna curiously, then the direction Ronan had gone. Hm.

Well, Stesumi couldn't hear a thing passed the frothing waves. Nor was she paying much attention. One paw still gripped at the mud, entertained at its thickness before the water cleared it from her grasp. Her other paw was placed at the side of her placid face as if to keep from falling asleep. The tune had ended, and the femme simply sat quietly watching the morning light reflect off the water's surface.
"Hah." That had been deeper than he thought it would be. Ronan grinned as his front half lowered into the fresh hole, a tail curled around the palm for support. So, the pearl was still there. Clenching it in his teeth, he pushed himself up and out of the ground before kicking the dirt back into place. A good sweep of the tails made the area look undesturbed, and the male left to lay next to another set of palms.

Liliana trotted back after a while looking much, ah, relieved. There was an added spring in her step and the crimson female looked pretty proud of herself. In front of her a large palm leaf hovered, laden with collected food from the beach for four kitsu. There were even a few crabs, lying on their backs looking stunned. The witch had probably cast stupefy to stun them.
"Anyone hungry?" She asked, setting the 'tray' to the ground & pocketing her wand. "I checked by book and by magic and it should all be safe to eat." Nervously Lily ducked her head, the gold tipped paw bearing no inner lining of black pawing at the sand before her uncertainly. Had she done all right?

Did someone say food? Edward's head whipped around as he heard Lilianna approach and her announcement. Yes he was hungry! He quickly shuffled over to the leaf with the various food items upon it. So that's what she had been up to! "This looks great, Lily!" he said as he sat by the leaf, the crabs catching his attention.
The alchemist loomed over one crab with an odd look on his face. He'd never eaten a crab before... atleast not alive like this. Peering at stunned creature as beady eyes peered back. Flesh paw poked at it experimentally.
Poke. Pokepoke.
This seemed to draw the crab out of its dazed state for a claw suddenly snatched and clamped down on the offending paw. CRUNCH!
Fur stood on end and eyes widened, in surprise... tears springing from golden eyes as the pain jolted through him like electricity. "AAAAGH!"
Ensue massive amounts of flailing and shouting. Edward's paw becoming a blur as he rapidly waved it with the crab attached. "WHAT THE HELL! GET OFF!"

What the hell? Setsumi turned her head away from th eclear water, brow raising at the screaming. What was Ed doing? He was moving so fast, that the crab was blending into his coat sleeve, making him look othrewise unharmed and...nuts. She stood, waiting for a wave to wash away the mud clinging to her fur, and padded up to dry land. Eyes widened when she realized it was a crab at the end of his flailing limb. Oh great.
Ears perked and Ronan was drawn away from the palms and his activities, having seen the whole situation. Like he had said, Ed was a trouble magnet. He grinned openly and raced up to the group, eyeing the rest of the calm food. "Wow, good selection. Thanks Lily." A blue paw picked about at the selection as the male showed a great display of ignoring the chaos in the background. Hmm, what to choose?

The winged female was beaming, tails wagging harder than they probably ever had in her life seeing the alchemist turn, looking so happy at the food. It was all worth fretting over the book, seeing if this one was really that or debating which were fresh... all worth it to see Ed get that adorable happy/excited.
Sitting across from him so she could better see him (much safer than being near him at the beginning of a day with how his touch made her feel) Liliana pondered the best way to open one of the coconuts without spilling the liquid she could hear inside. Her mouth quirked, only halfway seeing that Ed was playing with the crab. More out of the corner of her eye than anything else. Lily was thinking that she hoped Ed knew what to do with one, for though she ate crab at home she had never watched how the things were taken from their shells.
Then Ed was yelling, her heart aching for him. A startled yip ripped from her as she toppled backwards in a mixture of being startled and an automatic reach for her wand unbalancing her. She managed to get the wand out, more instinctively than anything else. Her red paw swung the wand, desperately trying to place a bead on the no longer stunned crustacean. "Edward! Hold still! Hold still so I can get it or for the love of you I'll get you both -and on purpose too!"
She was worried & concerned, that much was clear in the way body and voice shook. But there was an odd detached calmness too, as if Lily stepped out of herself into some unknown strength that could not panic under this kind of crisis. She seemed terrified, yet levelheaded. Even within herself it felt ... bizarre.

If Edward wasn't so busy flailing, he'd probably comment on how Ronan was such an a** for just ignoring his plight!
"WHAT?!" Edward shrieked as Lilianna threatened to stun him, until it hit him... duh.... stand still! And so he eventually froze, stiffly holding out his paw with the crab dangling from it. Eyes wide and teeth clenched in a rather manic look, fur still standing on end... tails being rather poofy.
A glare was given the crab, "I'm so going to eat you" he seethed between clenched teeth. Twitch.

Setsumi just...sat back observing the poor boy, her ears tucked at his yelping. What else could she do? Tackle him and risk getting smacked?And she was right to assume Lily would jump to action with her magic. To see Ed flailing, and Lily nervous but demanding.....it brought a giggle to Setsumi. Of course, she raised a paw to hush herself. Seems these two would get along just fine, if they didn't stress themselves out that is.
And Ronan just continued glancing through the foods, as if it was an advanced math question. What to eat? Hmmm. A delayed tilt of his head, white eyes blinking as the furry blur seemed to pause behind him. "How's it going?"

The witch wasted no time. The moment Ed was still she growled her "stupefy!" Her focus must have been fierce, for the small creature made a tock sound as the spell hit it, claw popping open as it fell stunned to the ground.
Liliana then ran to Ed, her calmness of the moment completely shot now that the danger was past. She licked at his paw with a soft whimper.
Then out of the blue wheeled & glared at Ronan, her small body quaking. "The bloody hell is your problem? How could you sit there pretending nothing was happening? Aunt Ginny's always said such nice things about you, but after this and whatever stupid macho thing that pearl business was last night I don't know what to think!! I don't expect you to coddle us but you could at least show some trace of concern!"
The crimson female must have been mad or she would have never, ever, spoken so. She had, after all, been well raised to respect her elders.
