My roomie is quite perturbed about a Hummel figurine her mum owns. They have it in a display case with a whole bunch of other hummels. And one in particular has been randomly turning around. It doesn't turn around infront of folk but when it happens, everyone at the house is present and accounted for. Also, she says that it has been going on too long to be a funny family prank anymore. She is the youngest in the immediate and when checking it out, she noticed that the door would creak and make noise no matter how carefully its opened. so what do you guys think? Is it possible for a single thing to be haunted like that? thanks for helping.

It's very possible for an item to be haunted. Sometimes they are effected by the previous owners feeling toward them or by events that have happened around them.
If the item very a favourite of the previous owner (this is most common with chairs) they will offen stay with said item even when it changes hands. Or if they was a lot of negative energy around the item at one point it might have stored some of it.
For example: since the item you're talking about turns around maybe it was somewhere before your roomie mom got it where they was a lot of fighting or bad feeling so it turns it self around so it doesn't have to see.
But that's just a theory.

I'm the roomie Maiden's talking about. We currently have it facing west and it turns to face east. This hummal's been turning around since I was born so at least 19 years. Plus, I'm the master at sneaking around my house and you can't get into that cabinet quietly and it is also noticable from our kitchen. So no hiding from people unless no one's in the kitchen. It hasn't turned around since mid-January through mid-March.

Yes, it's totally possible that one item, such as a figurine, could be haunted. All it does is turn, ya say?
When was the last time the whole family got together? That seems to be a trigger for the haunting...

That seems to be a trigger for the haunting... The last time it turned was between mid-January through mid-March. I'll admit to turning it once before I went back to school mid-January. My mother caught that one and in between those times (after my mother fixed it), all the grandparents were in the house doing taxes. Keep in mind that one day it was 2 grandparents and my mother and they were in the upstairs room. Another day it was the other 2 grandparents and same deal. No one ever left each other. It has not turned itself around since then (I've looked).

Dazzler For example: since the item you're talking about turns around maybe it was somewhere before your roomie mom got it where they was a lot of fighting or bad feeling so it turns it self around so it doesn't have to see. But that's just a theory. I didn't feel anything bad. (I'm more sensative to those kinds of things than the rest of my family.) It just likes to face east for some reason. Could have been facing east with the previous owner....
