Right, so I just started this manga a week or two ago, and I'm totally hooked. It's a really addicting storyline, even if it verges on getting a little dirty. wink The only problem for me really is the protagonist, Hatsumi. She is a little too passive for my tastes. She totally lets Ryoki push her around when, if she just spoke up, I think she could easily regain her freedom. Then again, I think Hatsumi's very human and a lot of girls can probably identify with her. Plus, I like to see faults in a main character...Perfect heroines are inhuman and boring.
So, has anyone else read this manga? If so, what are your thoughts on Hatsumi's character? And has anyone read the SB fiction, Hot Gimmick S?

Read all of it. I'm planning on bringing it up to college, because I've talked so much about how good it is. 3nodding Hatsumi does get pushed around quite a bit, but I don't think of her as completely passive, maybe that's because I've read it all.
And I have read the fiction piece. It wasn't as good as the rest of the series, but it did provide an interesting idea.

Well, I finished the twelfth volume a few days ago, and I still felt like Hatsumi was as passive as ever, but I guess that's just me. (Still read through twelve volumes of the series... sweatdrop ) I'm now working my way through the SB fiction version. Like you said, Izu, it's good but not quite as good as the original manga. Personally, I thought Shinogu was better suited for Hatsumi than Ryoki simply becacuse he was nicer to her... but the whole sibling thing weirds me out a little bit.
Also, on an unrelated note, I'm also starting Tokyo Boys & Girls now. Hooray! xd

Peach girl is good too Tokyo Boys and Girls really needs it's own topic I think, but since I'm here...I think it's decent but Hot Gimmick is a lot better.
