It was a nice day, and soon to be a nice evening, Corbin had thought to himself. Every since he grew into a teen, his mother and his father thought it would be time to establish some indepedence, which in their case means he doesn't really need their help getting around the island anymore.

Sitting on the Chai'en Beach beach, he moved himself closer to feel the spray from the lapping waves of the lake itself. It seem to be the only place on this entire island, what he explore so far to make him at ease.

Oceanid floated on the water not far from the beach, letting the waves wash over her. The newly aged demon had escaped her guardian who for the most part seemed to have given up keeping tabs on her except for the occassional visit. So the teen was free to do as she wished, which mostly consist of swimming and other water related activities.

She sat up, causing her body to sink under the water when she heard the crunching of sand on the beach. It had been fairly quiet today and she was curious to see who had ventured out this way. It was a Pae she recognized. "CORBIN!"

Corbin blinked as he looks up from eyeing the sand too long. To be frank, it was a bit of a bore just staring at sand. Oh great, his brothers are going to call him a nutcase if they ever find out that that he was talking to himself about SAND! of all things. Hearing his named being called out, he looked up and grins lightly. "Hey Oceanid.. what you been doing here?" he asked, watching her. He almost missed her in the water, but her coloring was a bit darker than the lake water itself.

Oceanid stood and walked out of the water, wringing out her ponytail as she went along. "I thought I'd go swimming." In truth she'd been swimming all day. "Why are you here?" Her wings fluttered, shaking off excess water as she reached the angel pae.

Corbin shrugs his shoulders as he watches Oceanid come out of the water. He then grins lightly, then sigh afterwards. "Me..? Just wanted to get away from the chaos at the house. Little brothers are being a nuisance at the moment. Im not talking about the other one, just the spawn of evil, the other one," he muttered then looks back up at Oceanid. "Well you're a sight for sore eyes.. to be honest. I never expect to see you here."

Oceanid giggled and hugged her friend. "I'm glad I don't have siblings." She grinned. "...not expect to see me...near this much water? Perhaps you don't know me as well as you think." Another giggle.

Corbin grins charmingly; a trait he observed and trained on himself by his adopted father. "Well.. you know me. I don't really think behind myself.. just ahead," he said, then chuckled lightly. "I didnt really expect for you to run into me today."

"I didn't expect to run into anyone today." Oceanid flopped down on the sand, staring up at her friend. "May as well sit or something." Another goofy grin. The events of the other day weren't lost on her, she just simply didn't know how to act at the moment.

"Oh no?" Corbin asked Oceanid, but it was more of a rhetorical question, not to be answered since it was already laid out previously. "So how are you?" he asked, her nearness was making his heart beat faster and seeming dizzy.

"I'm fine." Oceanid rolled over onto her stomach to more easily watch him, chin resting in her hands while her elbows were buried in the sand. "What about you...other than the family stuff?" Her wings fluttered again, absently, it happened unconsiously when she was nervous.

"Other.. than family stuff?" Corbin repeated, only got the gist of it. He found if he breathes steadily, it will go away. "Oh yeah yeah.. everything's good. mhm, great.. uh-huh," he said absently as he took a glance at Oceanid. "You seem so at home with the water."

"I'm in it...most of the time. S'why." Oceanid smile and fiddled idly with the ends of her hair. "Does Corbin know how to swim?" She giggled, even though it was a serious question.

"Umm.. no Corbin definitely don't know how to swim," Corbin said, chuckling lightly; the thought of referring himself in the third person was amusing and funny. He really did like being near Oceanid; it was like the rest of the island just fell alway and it was just the two of them.

"I can teach you!" Oceanid grinned, then eyed his wings. "If you don't mind those getting a little wet." The gentle fluttering of her wings finally ceased as she was comfortable with his presence again for the moment.

"As long you don't startle me in the deep waters.. Im totally fine with it," Corbin said; in truth, he wasn't. He had a fear of those waters. He didn't like it at all, but he wanted Oceanid to see that he was brave and macho rather than a wuss.
