Eh, sorry for all the bad language. I was in a really bad mood. And LAWL @the edits x3
S3 Ends with a leaving of Martha. So I am sad. Then I go to the Doctor Who news page to check out any companion status. What do I find on the latest news post?
CATHERINE SMEGGING TATE.
THAT'S WHAT. THAT IS SMEGGING WHAT. It was bad enough that she ruined the Christmas Episode and the ending of S2, but now she has come back to ruin 13 would be glorious episodes of S4.
Why do I hate her you ask?
She is a bad comedian. Her show was utter BOLLOCKS. She is a bad actor. Look at her performance in Doctor Who! Utter shambles!! She is REALLY BAD AT BEING SERIOUS. FFS. She has a really stupid voice. IT IS NOT GOOD FOR SERIOUS. SHE CAN'T DO IT. SHE CAN'T.
This has made me REALLY DEPRESSED. AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY. I DON'T CARE THAT DOCTOR WHO IS JUST A PROGRAM ON TV. FOR ME IT IS A HUGE DEAL.
Rusty is in SO MUCH SMEGGING TROUBLE WITH ME NOW. HE'S GOING TO BE DEAD TEN TIMES OVER WHEN I'M THROUGH WITH HIM

I think she was better than Rose. She was (like I keep saying) more like a classic series companion and she was what made that episode better than last years christmas special, and her show's better than other sketch shows such as Little Britian and I don't often say something like that. Oh and you have no right to skit peoples accents or peoples acting, nobody does really, except people who write produce and do all that stuff for TV, Film, Radio etc. and people who act in those movies, TV programs and radio shows.

I REALLY SMEGGING AGREE WITH YOU AND ALSO HOPE THE KIDDIES HAVE THEIR PROFANITY FILTERS ON OR I'LL BE DEAD BY MORNING AND HOORAY FOR SELF-CENSORSHIP Takuha ...and you have no right to skit peoples accents or peoples acting, nobody does really, except people who... SHE ONLY SOUNDS OBNOXIOUS AND GRATING WHEN SHE'S ACTING(SINCE SHE CAN ONLY DO ONE VOICE OTHER THAN HER OWN), AND THAT'S THE VOICE THAT WAS BEING QUESTIONED.

Well that's your opinion.
Plus she isn't that bad of an actress. Her character in doctor who was kind of a demanding, emotional, air head which kinda suits her voice sweatdrop . and saying "she can't do it. she can't" is obviously wrong cause she is, no matter how much you whine or rant about it. And Martha will come back eventually if I'm correct.,so it's gonna be Martha, Donna, and the Doctor by the end of series 4. Plus I don't think her character of Donna is that serious anyway, besides I don't see what you mean about her not being good at being serious.
Do you like the old series companions may I ask?
I think you might have another reason to hate her and if so, may I ask why is that?
Or can you provide me with a really god explanation of your hate for her?

I think you might have another reason to hate her and if so, may I ask why is that? Or can you provide me with a really god explanation of your hate for her? I WILL NOW TURN OFF CAps lock, and pick this apart. Quote: Or can you provide me with a really god explanation of your hate for her? I'll provide one God almighty can't question, and if I can't, by jove I'm gonna try. Quote: and saying "she can't do it. she can't" is obviously wrong cause she is, no matter how much you whine or rant about it. Ah, the old Borg response. Just because it's gonna happen doesn't mean us sane people can't rant, or try to do something about it. I'm sure the argument those global warming nutcases always give is fairly similar... Quote: so it's gonna be Martha, Donna, and the Doctor by the end of series 4. Oh, great, a companion I don't really like, a companion I'm going to hate and a Doctor I wish would be replaced already. Aren't we supposed to agree on how great the next series is gonna be, not cause each other to despair? Quote: a demanding, emotional, air head which kinda suits her voice OK, and both her voice and that kind of character grate on me so heavily that I'd be quite delightful sprinkled on spaghetti bolognese. Quote: Plus I don't think her character of Donna is that serious anyway, besides I don't see what you mean about her not being good at being serious. While a break from the over-emotional, overly-epic, live-action fanfiction would be great, turning it into a crappy comedy show is not. Fine, make it silly for one christmas special. At least the "not serious" thing would excuse the fact THEY BURNED A HOLE TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH AND DRAINED THE THEMES AND PROBABLY COOLED DOWN THE CORE in the space of a few minutes. But a whole series of not being serious? Now we're going to have lame jokes, ned humour, the outer limits of psuedo-science and two stupid companions for WEEKS! And she really isn't good for being serious. She has two voices; her normal one and her acting voice. Neither sound at all serious. You could only miss the slightly nasal and totally ridiculous sound of her voice if you were deaf. Quote: Do you like the old series companions may I ask? Some of them. Most are irritating. Do you, may I ask? Quote: I think you might have another reason to hate her and if so, may I ask why is that? The only reasons I hate her is that she isn't a comedian(she simply shouts the same thing at a television camera repeatedly every episode of her show, the IRL equivalent of DESU spam), she can't do any serious characters(she only has experience doing characters as complex as those you might find in her sketches) and she seems to have only been included in Doctor Who in order to make it more popular among the chav underclass. To wrap it all up: 1. I already despise her comedy show, which was kinda funny the first time, slightly amusing the second and totally annoying the third time when you realise it's the exact same sketch as last week. 2. So, the christmas specials aren't wonderful. But the one she starred in was particularly not wonderful. To put it bluntly it was awful. This hardly helps. 3. Her acting is as terrible as her comedy. Since all her sketch characters sound the same, act fairly similarly, and look very alike(anyone who quotes this saying "uhh thats coz its the same person dumass" is obviously not quite thinking enough) her act is, and was, very samey. I hate all her other characters. I hate Donna. Tennant, as much as I dislike him being the Doctor, can act. Compare his Doctor to Tate's Donna. Compare the Doctor to Tennant's other work. Compare Donna to Tate's other work. The distinct difference is that Tennant plays a variety of quite well-acted characters, whereas Tate plays the same character with consistant repulsiveness. OK, so this post was long and messy. And to quote Wikipedia, "[citation needed]". Still I think this gets my point across.

Quote: Some of them. Most are irritating. Do you, may I ask? To answer the question, I like most of the companions really and honestly why don't you just stop watching the new series if you hate Martha,Donna, and the 10th Doctor. It seems like a logical response especially cause a lot of people like Martha and DT's version of the Doctor I doubt it's gonna change anytime soon (not trying to jinx it)Oh and Martha and Donna are based upon the original concept of the personality and role of companions. Those you found irritating are similar to them most likely. I also doubt it would become a crappy comedy show. You never know Donna might act one way on the outside but be completely different on the inside. Catherine Tate wouldn't be on Doctor Who if someone hadn't found her interesting enough or a good enough actress to be on it. three more questionsWhy do you hate the 10th Doctor? Why do you hate Martha? why do you hate Donna?

Because I was just getting to like the Ninth when he came along, because there's something about both his serious and silly moments that annoys the hell out of me, because fate has a way of aligning me against the rabid fangirls. Anyway, I don't really hate him anymore. It's more a general dislike now. I don't hate her, I just don't like her. While certainly better than Rose she goes completely emo over and over again about how the Doctor "never even notices I exist". It gets really old, really quick. Jeebus beebus, I thought I already explained that in some depth. But to put it simply, Donna is yet another Catherine Tate Show character, and I hate all of those. So therefore, I hate Donna. There's quite a bit more to it though, as will become clear if my previous post is actually read through to the end. Also, YES SHE IS A BAD ACTRESS. Her show SUCKS PISS. It's crap and repetitive!

I read your post but still you've seen one episode of Donna who knows she might change...doubtful though oh and I understand about the 10 doctor. Even though I didn't like the 9th. CE went on to do heroes...something which is wonderful in itself. oh and about Martha how would you feel about being constantly compared with someone. It's kinda like with Liz from the earlier Doctor's. well thank you for the clarification then

While it's entirely possible she'll change, it's extremely(just want to place extra emphasis on the word extremely. OK, I'm done) doubtful. Still, I guess only time will tell. In that time, maybe RTD will go to the balcony of his evil tower of fanfiction-writing and shout, "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"

*joins the unhappy-about-Tate Guild*
I didn't hate her as much as some of you guys did, but I certainly breathed a sigh of relief when she refused to go with the Doctor at the end of last Xmas special. I think my exact thought was "thank God that's over".
Why do they keep bringing back actors they've had on the show before to be companions? Can't they find any new blood? Donna's character was so annoying and so...docile. I can't see how it'll work...
As for Martha, I wish they'd move her to Torchwood and keep her there. It seems more like her sort of show.

Give her a chance before you bash her completely. She was good in the Christmas Special and she also is a talented woman and extremely hilarious in my opinion.
People always get mad when there is change... but that is something Doctor Who fans should know how to deal with. The show has always swapped companions and Doctors so I don't see why Martha leaving and Donna arriving is so difficult to cope with... I bet she only lasts a season anyway.
Also... since Martha left it open, and we know she is coming back, who is to say that Martha's days are close to being finished. It isn't like they got rid of her character completely like they did with Rose.
