Tail wagging up in the air, head on his paws down by the ground while his backside waved about up in the air, the puppy got ready to pounce on his 'prey'. The tension and suspense were building as his tail began to slow, steadying the pace so as not to scare it away. Small pink tongue darted in and out of his mouth in anticipation, running over the small pointed teeth in an excited way. In one, sudden, swift movement, the puppy leapt, giving a playful yip as he came down upon his prey, two paws coming down to trap it.

A beetle. And still it found an escape root, creeping out of a small gap between his paws before flying off. Rorak watched it leave, ears drooping slightly in disappointment. Well, that hadn't gone too well, now had it? Black ebonite eyes flashed around, looking for another creature to annoy with his endless games. Upon finding none, he gave a playful growl, before leaping at a pile of fallen leaves, sending several flying up into the air.

Another delighted yip followed as the puppy attempted to 'walk' on two feet, and snap at the leaves that were now floating serenely back down to the earth. Catching one in his jaw, Rorak tumbled back down onto all fours, chewing on the leaf, wondering how it would taste. Of course, the puppy soon spat it back out again in disgust. A small whimper followed, as he collapsed down into a lying position, ears drooping as he placed his head on his paws in the universal sign of sadness. He was lonely, poor boy.

Things would be looking up from now on. The lone wolf, who was so skittish that a leaf being carried by the wind would startle him, was in a pack. A pack, of all things! All he had to do was seek out more land for the amazing Miss Lilith, and he would have the protection of a pack. What could be better than that? Strength and courage, actually. A pack would do just fine for now, though. It was all the same, for both would help keep him from being killed at the paws and teeth of another wolf, or any other animal that was larger than he.

Even with this in mind, the emaciated wolf continued to slink around in the underbrush, determined to keep from being seen by any other creature that happened to be roaming around. Although he could merely howl and expect a packmate to come barreling out of nowhere to save him in a tough situation, he knew that he couldn't do this all of the time. Abusing the power of a pack wouldn't turn out well, Harvey knew. If anything, he'd have to save this bit of defense for a situation in which he was positive death was the only outcome.

Tail tucked between his legs, and head hung low, he continued to creep behind bushes and trees, occasionally stopping to crouch behind a rock. It was all daily routine; hide, crouch, and break out into a run if another wolf is in sight. However, the sound of a yip caught him off guard. Coming to a halt behind what he could only describe to be a boulder, he lowered himself to the ground, taking a quick peek around. Nothing.

After a moment, he pulled himself out of the small patch of grass, and peered around the rock. While one eye stared blindly ahead of him, his good eye showed him where the yip had come from. "You there!" His voice, though usually fairly meek and stricken with fear, had taken up a confident tone that he only used around those that were younger and much small than him. Taking a few steps forward, he stopped a good foot or two away from the pup. "What's wrong, you foolish young wolf?"

Rorak certainly hadn't expected another wolf to appear - and even if they did, his small, childish mind would've thought they'd have come to play. Not snap at him and terrify him. With a yelp, Rorak stumbled to his feet at the first few words, that were obviously addressed to him. Well, there was no-one else around, was there? Tail between his legs in surprise/fright, the pup pushed himself backwards through the leaves, the foliage 'parting' for him as he backed through them, turquoise eyes watching Harvey carefully. Having separated the two by quite a difference, he yelped as Harvey addressed him again, and this time there was no mistaking it. 'Young pup' was definitely him. And although Rorak would've disagreed with the 'foolish' part of it, he still ducked his body into a lying position, as close to the ground as possible.

And then, he got a great idea. Covering his eyes with his forepaws, the puppy had come across the idea 'if I can't see you, you can't see me'. A childish thought, but then that was what he was, after all. Whimpering slightly, afraid the big bad wolf was going to hurt him, Rorak remained where he was, unable to see anything, ears erect so he could hear things instead.

Harvey kept his eye on the pup, watching with interest as the tan wolf backed up as far as he possibly could. Usually, he would've felt good about striking fear into another wolf, but this..this felt wrong. Albeit, it was nice to occasionally get to play the part of a larger, more threatening creature, but this didn't appear to be the case. This other wolf appeared to be scared to death of him, and he couldn't do anything but hang his head lower with guilt. The fact that Rorak had decided that covering his eyes was the way to go was fairly amusing, but he knew that this wasn't really a laughing matter. Heaving a small sigh, the lone wolf crept forward, making sure to move slowly, as to not make the younger male pee himself out of fright. "I didn't mean to frighten you." He murmured, stopping when he was only a few inches away. "You can move your paws, young one. I didn't mean to sound so rude, and I didn't mean to startle you. It's usually the other way around." Lowering himself to the ground, with his front legs outstretched and his beg legs tucked to his sides, he tilted his head to the side, silently waiting for the pup to either move his paws, respond in some way or another, or run off.

"Got it? Everything's fine, I'm not going to inflict pain upon you, or anything of the sort. What is your name?" He asked, resting his head on his paws, wearily closing his eyes. "Why aren't you with your parents, or with your pack?"
