*The area is nothing, just a bland grey/blackness everywhere, like a blank canvas. The air feels chilled and stagnant, a dull glow coming from everywhere and nowhere illuminates, but doesn't cast shadow*

*next to Cora, about a foot away, is The Seraphim. He's down on one knee hacking, as he's just coughed up his lunch. Gasping, he stands up and wipes off his mouth*

That... was much more difficult than I had originally thought.

*The Seraphim fights back a gagging sensation while he talks*

Cora *NGH* Cora Serenis, correct? I am The Seraphim. I am trying to take control of The Brink of Time from the one you know as Tavin.

*The Seraphim smiles*

To begin with, Officer, I have been spying on you since you first came to The Brink. You and everyone else. Just because you don't see me or feel my presence doesn't mean that I don't know everything that goes on there. I'm specialized in the art of subterfuge. For example... When you eat a fruit like an apple, Cora, you do not eat the seeds. When it starts to taste bad, you stop eating that part.
Secondly, every day that The Brink of Time remains in control of Tavin, the renegade Angel, the world itself- perhaps ALL reality is in more and more peril. Its not safe in his hands.
Finally, I am telling this to you, because amongst all of the people thus far, you are the most likely to put aside emotion and listen to reason and logic. Tavin is not your friend. He's using you. He's gaining power with each person that comes in, and for what purpose. Has he even told you?

*The Seraphim scowls and shakes his head*

Have you already forgotten everything you've learned all your life, OFFICER? Are you going to tell me that this man you call "Capitan", who has never told you his purpose or plan, a man who is dangerous due to the fact that his motives are shrouded, a man that you don't even have PROOF of his rank... Is your FRIEND? What proof do you have that he isn't lying to you? That he isn't using you for his own ends?

*In an instant, he was at her, a hand clamped tight around her throat as he lifted her clean off the ground. He yelled, not even bothering to hide his anger at all*

I am NOT like that traitor! That loathesome WORM Mjolnir is NOTHING compared to me! Now don't you forget your PLACE officer!

*The Seraphim shook Cora a bit to further his point*

Listen to yourself, meandering on about feelings and emotions! You are SICK Officer Cora Serenis!

*The Seraphim began to squeeze her throat*

The people in The Brink have INFECTED you. They have made you weak and succeptable to lies. You know very well that if you acted this way in your time, you would be terminated! IMMEDIATELY!

*The Seraphim drops Cora to the ground and takes a few steps back, a look of disgust on his face*

I am giving you a chance to do the right thing, Officer Serenis. I am giving you the chance to help me aprehend a dangerous and wanted criminal, who murdered millions, and to return a powerful weapon to its rightful owners. People whom can be trusted to keep it safe. You need to think and reflect upon the meaning of that. Think of what your emotions will bring you.

*Again, in an instant, he was on her, pinning her to the ground. He tore the pendant from around her neck and shot back to where he had been standing, holding the pendant out towards her*

LOOK FOR YOURSELF! Are you so far gone that you don't recognize how he works to control you through his use of kindness? Warm people.... Kind words.... Happy laughter... Its infectious, isn't it! You feel like you would DIE for him, wouldn't you? You would do everything you could to protect this.... THING that you have no idea about, because he makes you FEEL! He and those around him give you pleasuring experiences, and you simply do what they say, because you want to feel that pleasure even more! You, yourself, should be all the proof you ever need, if you think about it logically, and with a mind unfettered with emotional trash and judgement untainted by whimsical fantasy of a "Warm and Happy Home"

*The Seraphim shakes his head*

I feel.... For every soul that this planet has to offer. That's why i think logically. That's why I deduce reasonably what's the best for ALL people. The needs of the many are NOT outweighed by the desires of the few. That is why instead of destroying you, I will only destroy this simple locket of yours. A symbol of his control over your mind. Remember its loss, young one, and reflect upon its meaning.

*The Seraphim holds out the locket and his hand starts to glow*
