Welcome, soldier. After completing Basic Training, you were told to pick a weapon. Here is where you choose your arsenal. For now, there are no real set limits, but I'll review each soldier's stock, and if it's too large, I'll deal with it. Choose what you can carry into combat, please.

If you already have items on your avatar that are weapon-ish, you can use them in your arsenal as "personal" weapons, like plasma swords, crossbow pistols, or a mech suit.

Weapons:

Melee Weapons:

Combat Knife:
This knife is made from the strongest known alloys on the planet, and can pierce through up to an inch or more of steel. If used correctly, they can easily parry a sword strike. Using two knives is useful in assinations.

Chisakatana:
A chisakatana is a smaller version of the katana, allowing for easier attacks and usage of two at once. They are quicker than regular katanas, but have less reach.

Katana:
Longer than the chisakatana, this samurai sword is very strong. It can slice through thin steel, and is fast for its size. A favored move with this weapon is parrying an incoming attack, then shunting with the sword and slipping out a knife to stab the opponent.

Kunai:
Originally, kunai were used solely for melee purposes, however, they are effective in both close-combat and as throwing weapons. Made popular by ninja, these are a good choice for those who favor versatility. Due to their size, several can be carried.

Broadsword:
A short and thick sword, this weapon's purpose is to crush armor at close-range. It's also sharp enough to cut effectively, but only someone very strong could swing it fast or accurately enough to slice anything.

Lance:
A long polearm resembling a spear, this lance is for stabbing without getting too close. It's an effective weapon to use while on a horse or on the side of a vehicle, and is often thrown at enemies.

Chakram:
Extremely sharp and dangerous, chakram are often used in twos. Their edges are sharper than most blades, and are deadly both up-close and personal, or if thrown.

Ranged Weapons:

Combat Pistol:
This light handgun is a favorite among those who favor mobility and versatility. Easy to handle, easy to reload, with very little kickback. It is usually used as a fallback weapon when a soldier's main one is unusable.

Heavy Pistol:
This handgun is larger and more powerful than a standard pistol. While it is possible to use two at once, the rebound from the powerful firing of one can affect aiming with the other. Each clip holds only 10 rounds.

Assault Rifle:
This rifle is effective in close-range and mid-range. It is able to fire either a single round if the trigger is tapped, or at an automatic frequency if the trigger is held down. Each magazine holds 32 rounds.

Long Rifle:
Fitted with a 3x scope to add range, this gun is between a standard assault rifle and a sniper rifle. It fires three-round bursts and is effective at mid-range, and some long-ranges. Each magazine holds 36 rounds.

Sub-Machine Gun:
This gun is very effective at close- and mid-range. It fires bullets at very fast speeds, but this makes it rather inaccurate. A very good choice for close-range skirmishes. Each magazine holds 60 rounds.

Sniper Rifle:
Sniper rifles are extremely long-range weapons. They are very accurate if aimed correctly, and are used for surprise attacks from hidden locations. They are arguably the most lethal weapon. Each magazine holds 6 rounds. The scope can be changed depending on the situation, such as infrared or higher-magnification scopes.

Shotgun:
The shotgun is a purely close-range weapon. Pulling the trigger will release a large pellet that almost immediately explodes into several smaller fragments, and rapid trigger-pulling can be used to release a deadly cloud of them. Each magazine holds 12 rounds.

After choosing your weapon, you may pick up some throwing weapons or grenades.

Throwing Weapons:

Shuriken:
These classic ninja tools are good for distractions, but unless thrown precisely, they aren't too dangerous, though they can easily cut skin. Many variations exist, and have a different number of points and edges.

Throwing Axe:
Throwing axes have been used for centuries, and are easy to throw. They cut deep into skin if thrown by a good arm, and also perform well if forced into close-combat usage. They are very effective at mid-range.

Grenades:

Flash Grenade: Using a mix of magnesium and potassium perchlorate, when it hits a hard object such as the ground or a wall, this grenade will emit an extremely bright flash and a loud bang, and anyone with unprotected eyes or ears will be blinded and disoriented for a few seconds. This is an effective weapon to use against foes such as vampires. It can't kill them, but their eyes are very sensitive to light.

Sting Grenade:
A souped-up version of the flash grenade. It not only gives off a flash and a noise, but it propels small rubber balls in all directions, which will sting and distract opponents. However, you must be careful to throw it far enough so you're not hit.

Smoke Grenade:
Smoke grenades let off no sound, but expel a huge cloud of dense smoke when thrown, allowing for stealthy escapes or sneaky attacks. Variants use tear gas, sleep gas, or poison gas.

Standard Grenade:
This is a standard combat grenade, and after the pin is pulled, a few seconds later an explosion bursts it open, spreading the shrapnel of the metal shell for added effect.

These next weapons are "Heavy Weapons". They are classified as such due to the fact their size and/or destructive power makes them impossible to carry around on a regular basis, so you may only use them if they are issued to you for a mission, unless you have special authorization to own one.

Heavy Weapons:

Gatling Gun:
This extremely powerful weapon is usually mounted on a tripod, but the enhanced strength of a LotL soldier allows one to carry it alone. Firing is more accurate when mounted. Each magazine holds 200 rounds.

Rocket Launcher:
Primarily used for anti-vehicle work, this explosively devestating weapon can launch several types of rockets, usually armor-piercing explosive shells, though surface-to-air and gas-filled ones are available. Each magazine holds only two rockets, though, and thus, it must be reloaded after only two shots.

Rocket-Propelled Grenade:
Effective at anti-infantry or anti-vehicle work, this weapon is a real asset on a desperate battlefield. It's not so good against heavily-armored tanks or mechs, unless loaded with specific grenade types.

Ion Beam Gun:
This energy-cannon is a miniaturized version of the ion cannons found on large ships or bases. It ionizes particles in its chamber, shooting them in the form of an ionized-plasma beam, looking like a laser. If the beam hits or nears machinery, electrical malfunctions caused by ionization will cripple it. It's also been known to cause spontaneous combustion in organic materials, making it very dangerous.
