Rage breathed deeply, and panted, she was laying on her side, tongue lolled from her mouth while she lay on the bed on grasses and leaves Daemon had made for her. Daemon, she smiled, he'd be back soon, he said he'd be back. He said somehting about digging a trench to have water from the stream come to the den opening.
A good idea too, she was so thirsty.
Though it was time, and the time was growing nearer.
She raised her maw and let out a soft howl, though loud enough for the wind to carry it to who she needed. Laying her head down again and whimpered, her stomach was aching and coiling, small sharp pain being carried through her body and it hurt, hurt so bad.
"Daemon...where are you...I-I need you...Daemon..."

Daemon was digging, digging, digging. Ouch! Damn rock. He was only a few yards from the den now, and the water water following, at least they denned close enough to the water that he could make this trench. Though Rage's howl made him turn his head quickly, and he bolted for the den. She never called for him that way, she would come herself.
Oh god! What if he was too late?
Crashing through the underbrush he heard her calling him then as he went into the den and instinctively to her side, crouched in front of her, then laying behind her, trying to curl around her. "Its alright I'm here now, you'll be alright," he said softly, giving her a gentle lick, hearing her whimper made his ears fall back. She was in pain...what could he do to help?
"Just breath, it's going to be alright, I'm here..."

Nix heard it faintly, but heard it none the less. Nuding Kia with her nose, Kia giggling along the way, Nix was hurrying towards rage's den. She knew it! She knew it all along, Rage was with Daemon and danced together and were now going to have puppies! Finally...about time too since Nix wanted to raise puppies with Rage together for a while now. "Kia dear we have to hurry, or auntie rage will be upset alright?"
"But what about daddy and Loni and Zo mommy!?" Kia whined, getting nudged by her mother when she wasn't walking fast enough. They were getting closer to auntie Rage's den, Kia knew it, she'd been there a couple times already.
"Your father will hear and will probably meet us there," out of the corner of her eye Nix saw Valen come up behind them, and he picked Kia up, even though she wriggeld and protested, and Nix and Valen bolted as fast as they could, skidding to the den's entrance, Nix stepping inside, while Kia and Valen waited outside. "I wanna go in with mommy..." she said whining, wriggling. Valen pawed at her and kept her by his paws, shook his head, "omf! Vaaaaalenn! Lemme go." "You have to stay with me here Kia, it'll be alright..." He hoped so anyway, after almost losing Kia, he hoped Rage and Daemon didn't have that problem.
Where are you dad? he mused.
Nix sat close but gave Rage enough room, and a smirk and a smile, "Breath Rage, quick deep breaths, breath out slowly, you'll know what to do when a pup's coming, don't worry, you're doing fine sis..."

Rage listened to Daemon, and smiled when she felt him curled around her back. She whined low out of pain, and also affection, showing that she was glad he was there. She curled up, then let her muscles relax, the pains were getting closer together, and they hurt. "I knew...you'd hear me," she said with a smile, her eyes half open. She winced as another pain swept over her, then relaxed again.
Rage raised her eyes to see Nix come in, and she smiled, whined low, swayed her tail and gave her literal sister a smile, she knew she'd come. "Didn't want to miss it huh?" she saw Nix give her a smirk, course Nix wouldn't miss it, she'd been waiting for Rage to have pups for a while, this Rage knew.
She could hear Kia outside with Valen, Kia and her brothers would have some playmates now she supposed, and smiled, and winced again, whined softly. It was too close, very close, so close, the pups were coming.

Daemon kept giving Rage small kisses now and then to try and ease her pain, but he doubted it was helping much. Though he smiled at Nix when he saw her enter, Nix being here would help, would actually help a great deal. Nix would know what to do, and was already giving Rage her advice. He too heard Valen and Kia outside, and smiled, Nix had such a beautiful family, and now he and Rage were going to have one too. One big happy family all together, who would've thought?
"Glad you could make it Nix," Daemon said with a nod, and he knew Cellen wouldn't be too far behind. Rage and Cellen, though Cellen being her best friends mate, seemed close, or at least from what Daemon could tell, which was good, Rage needed all the support she could get right now.
He winced when he saw Rage wince even more, it was very soon, "It'll be alright, we're here for you..."

The large punk male had been out patrolling wth 'Loni as the young pup had eagerly wanted to be with his father and escape from the den. They had managed to stroll closeby to Rage and Daemon's densite as their patrolling boarders extended vastly and mostly all across the packlands. Today they had found themselves centered only lengths away from the couples den as Io'Loni's interest had been caught by a lizard- causing the pup to dart after it as his curly tail waved in the air like a banner and his blue orbs locked upon his target.
'Loni bounded forward and gave a powerful lunge as his paws slammed around the lizard and onto it's tail. Grinning, he puffed out his chest and gave a small growl.
"GOTCHA! 'Ey Daaaaad! I GOT IT!"
Trotting behind with a smirk, Cellen rumbled with laughter.
"Aye, you did! And what are ya gonna do wid' it?"
"I...don't know."
Standing beside his son, the punk wolf pursed his lips as he lowered his head. "How about we-" but before Cellen could say another word, a familiar howl seemed to break the silence. As his ears perked upwards, Cellen recognized it with ease.
It was Rage.
And It was time.
"Forget 'bout ta' lizard, 'Loni- we gotta go meet Aunt Rage an' Uncle Daemon...Rage is gonna 'ave 'er puppies soon! So let's leg it!" Cellen quickly spoke as he began hastily trotting and looked behind him to find the small grey pup still holding the lizard captive.
"'LONI!"
The pup gave a slight frown as his ears fell to his head.
"Hana-hou, Dad! Pleeeeease!" The pup begged- it was worth a try.
But a simple scolding look from his father was all he needed for an answer of 'lets go NOW' to be given. Sighing, Io'Loni staggered onto his paws and released the lizard, watching as it scurried away. Then the small pup lunged into small strides just as his father began making his way towards the den.
It didn't take long and within a few minutes both father and son arrived outside of the den where Valen and Kia sat. Wuffing softly with a deep rumble from his chest, Cellen approached first Valen and gave him a n** at the side of his cheek then lowered his head towards his youngest daughter, Kia, and licked her. "Is your mother already inside?"
Io'Loni glanced upwards towards Valen and leapt at him with a small bark, his curly tail swaying around him as he nipped at his older brothers forepaws and growled playfully.
"Ya should o' seen me! I caugh' a lizard by myself this mornin!"

Kia whined happily as soon as she saw her daddy come into view, "Dadddyy," and at once she leaped towards his paws and curled against him and wagged her tail. How she loved her father. Soon there would be more puppies around for her to play with! Yay! She couldn't wait, "Mommy is inside daddy! Daddy how many is auntie Rage gonna have huh? Daddy how many? Daddy where do puppies come from?" she asked with a bright smile on her smile.
Valen chuckled and pawed back at his younger brother with his larger paws, Loni would grow so strong one day, maybe stronger then him, who knew. "A lizard? Wow, I should take you fishing sometime Loni, think you'd be up for it?"

Nix heard her little Kia say daddy, was Cellen outside already? Nix eyes went back and forth from the den's entrance, to Rage, should she go outside and leave Rage's side, or stay? Nix wasn't too sure if Rage wanted Cellen inside or not, this being her first time and all, but she could never know for sure. She swayed her tail and her ears fell back slightly seeing Rage in such a position, so much pain..Nix knew what it was like, she hoped everything would go well.
She wasn't sure how Rage might handle a situation like she had with Kia...she might act very emotional and unsure.
What to do?
Nix should've gone to get Amelie before...she should've, though she made a mental note to go see her later, and have Amelie come and see the new family. "Its going to be alright Rage, it will, can you hear them? Kia and Cellen, Valen and 'Loni are outside...family sticks together Rage, everything will be alright..."

Rage was breathing even heavier now, and every now and then she whined and wanted to curl up in a ball and hope the pain would go away, she never felt such a thing before, she thought bringing pups into the world was supposed to be a grand experience! But this was painful, so, so painful. She closed and opened her eyes frequently, and listened to Nix as she spoke, others were outside? Seemed fitting, her and Daemon's den wasn't as large as Nix' and Cellen's.
Maybe they should look into finding a better den sometime soon.
Someplace safe for the pups.
"Cellen's outside?" she asked quietly, softly, holding in a whine, "he can...come inside Nix, he doesn't..have to stay outside..." Rage had the idea Nix would want to be with him, would want him here. There'd only be room for Cellen though, Valen and the other little babies would have to wait outside.
Rage had a certain respect and bond with Cellen, whether he realized it or not, Cellen was sort of a brother to her, in a manner. "He can come in, its alright..." she spoke louder now, so Cellen might hear so her words wouldn't have to be repeated through Nix.
Soon, so soon...the pups were going to come so soon, least her instincts were telling her so...

Daemon had a worried look in his eyes, well, if you could tell that is. He hoped his eyes wouldn't scare his pups, his sons and daughters, he hoped they wouldn't be afraid of him like so many other wolves, even adults, had been in the past. He wanted to tell Rage to be calm, to try and stay still, but he couldn't bring himself to, this was her first time birthing pups, and h didn't want to seem like a nusense, pressuring her and telling her what to do. He didn't want to be commanding...not at all.
Cellen had to be a brilliant wolf with how he seemed to handle things, handle his family and family matters.
Daemon would have to get tips from him, most definitely.
Cellen could come in, most definitely, Daemon needed him to be here too...in case, something happened. Cellen would know what to do.

Cellen's eyes seemed to kindle with a brilliant light as his small daughter, Kia, bounded towards him and curled against his paws while her tail thumped and swayed with great zest. Leaning down to nuzzle her once more, Cellen rumbled softly and nibbled on her ear.
"Ah- she is, is she? She's with auntie Rage, yes love?" As his curly tail swayed to the side with curiosity, the punk wolf shook his head slightly as his tapered crimson hair seemed to sweep over his eyes.
"Well-" biting his lower lip as he tilted his head, Cellen chuckled softly.
"Auntie Rage could have two ta' six...but I don' know 'ow many exactly. An'... well, puppies come from...ta' stork. He's magical an'...you'll learn 'bout 'im when ya old'a."
Playfully growling as his curly tail swaggered behind him, 'Loni dropped his jaw as his eyes widened. Valen would take him hunting? No- fishing! His ears perked upwards as he leapt upwards, paws pressing against his brothers leg. "Really? You'd take me fishin'? Yeah! I wanna go wid' you! I'm up fo' it!"
Slightly distracted with Kia and her questions, Cellen's ears perked upwards as he distinctly recognized Rage's voice speaking aloud- being able to hear her and a sure confirmation that he was certainly allowed entrance and to be within the small den when Rage was to give birth to her first litter of pups. With a smile that curled upon his maw, the punk wolf slowly entered as his eyes narrowed towards Nix- a warm smile drawing upln his maw as he walked towards her and sat beside her and gave her a small lick to the side of her face.
"'ey, Marra," he softly greeted as he nestled against her. Drawing his eyes towards Daemon and Rage, Cellen couldn't help but smile a bit wider as he nodded his head in greetings.
"Doin' alrigh', Rage? Hangin' in there Daemon?"

Valen smirked and nodded, pawing back at Loni, "Sure, we'll go fishing and have a blast Loni, just you and me, it'll be a grand time for sure," he said with a nod, his red locks falling into his eyes. His younger brother surely was something of excitement and...everything else he wanted to be or become.
Though Valen nearly choked when he heard his father talk about a stork.
A stork...really? He laughed in his mind.
Kia tilted her head, swayed her tail, "I wants a stork daddy, can I have one?" but she said it too late, and her dad was already inside, though Valen heard her, and just stared at his baby sister. They were indeed a strange family.
Rage didn't said a word for it would be muffled by a paw, and just nodded her head. Her ears were still folded back and her body shook from time to time from the pain. She never knew what this type of pain was, that it even existed. Daemon nodded at Cellen and went to speak, but Rage whined in pain, a pup was coming.
"Breath Rage...it'll be alright, just breath..." Nix whispered low, and leaned against Cellen...Nix hated seeing Rage in such pain. Daemon did too for that fact. Rage whined and suddenly felt something wet and strange by her tail. Raising her eyes they settled on a tiny mass, instinct kicking in, she picked it up, cleaned it off and nestled it beside her...nestled the pup besides her, "A girl..." she spoke tiredly, sleep already wanting to cast itself upon her eyes.
Daemon looked on in awe, he had a daughter, who has the same stripe of fur down her back as he, though she carried her mother's mark on her chest. Nix looked at Daemon, seeming to talk without words, and Rage spoke, seeming to tune in, "Tearh, heart...our girl Daemon, ours..."
Another pain shot through her and she whined another mass emerging, another pup to her side, though the pain subsided, it seemed to be over. A male curl beside his sister, dark with brighter markings, his face was striking.
"Ghilt," Daemon said, "A light or us, here, anywher he goes..." he said with a smile on his maw.
Then Rage lay her head down, Nix smiled on, and leaned against Cellen. Her best friend, her literal sister had a family of her own.
Life seemed good.
Especially for the heart and light of this family.

'Loni continued to n** and paw at his older brothers large paws as he growled playfully and swayed his curly tail. His eyes seemed to brighten as he glanced upwards, smiling in awe.
"Really? Yeah! We'll figh' an' catch some fish an' bussum up wid' one anotha' and show Dad and mum that we're tough, rugged an...that we can fish an' fight!"
Settled down and swaying his curly tail behind him, Cellen smiled warmly towards both Rage and Daemon. But it seemed before anyone could speak that Rage had begun contractions and the moment that everyone was waiting for was arriving. The punk wolf himself seemed to gasp in awe, watching as the first pup was delivered- a little girl, and a few moments later another pup, this time a boy, was born. It was quick yet well worth the wait as both Rage and Daemon were now the proud parents of a litter of two pups whose appearance and features certainly bore resemblance of each parent.
As Nix leaned against him, Cellen rumbled softly and nuzzled against her and drew his attention back towards the new parents.
"Congrats you two- a fine first litter."

Valen smiled and continued to swipe his larger paws at his younger brother's paws, trying to overlap his on his little brothers. 'Loni was so full of life and excitement, he would be a great wolf one day, he'd be so strong and so noble. Valen was sure he'd end up just like their father, strong, grand, loyal, and have a loving family of his own. Someday though, someday, hopefully not too soon. "Yea, we'll get some fish and show 'em how much of a good hunter and fisher you are."
Kia was getting bored and peered at the den's entrance, and then at Valen and 'Loni, and crawled on Valen's back and pawed at her older brother's curled tail. She wanted a curled tail too, everyone had one...well, mostly everyone. Maybe her tail would start to curl when she would grow older. Yea, wishful thinking though.
Nix looked on in awe and smiled, nuzzled against Cellen and watched on, seeing the two wriggling forms next to her best friend, her literal sister, Rage, Daemon was curled behind Rage two, this was a picture perfect family. They would be happy for sure, Nix was convinced. "Grats Rage, grats, you should sleep a bit now," though Nix wanted to stay just a bit longer before she, Cellen and her own family returned to their own den.
Rage nodded and laid her head on her paws and sighed contently, she ahd a family, and a son and a daughter, she had Daemon, things were looking up, though she was so tired now, so tired. Sighing once more her eyes were heavy with sleep, and in a mere moment she was sleeping contently, and merely silently, accept for the sound of her soft breaths.
Daemon smiled and said nothing, just watched Rage sleep, watched his two children, two pups, he would watch them grow, and would certainly get some tips from Cellen at some point, hopefully soon too. But life was good, and there was a happy family about in the Outriders, well, another family.
Life was good.
