I'm trying out for drum major this year and I know the 2/4 3/4 4/4 but i've looked at so many ways to do 5/4 i'm confused. Can anyone help?

Hm... There are many ways to do it. You can group it into a bar of 2/4 and a bar of 3/4. You can also do a pattern that is like 4/4 but you add an extra out or an extra in depending on the grouping of notes. For example: If it is grouped like this: . ____ . __ _l _l _l _l _l You can show it by going down, in, in, out, up, or by doing a bar of 3/4 and a bar of 2/4. If it is grouped like this: . __ . ____ _l _l _l _l _l You can show it by going down, in, out, out, up, or by doing a bar of 2/4 and a bar of 3/4.
There are many more factors that go into it, but that's the basic way to show it. I hope that helped. Go ahead and ask if you have more questions.

Personally 5/4 and 7/4, my advice, would have to be, take a gun to your head, honestly. I hate 5/4 and 7/4
