I'm obsessed with Jimi Hendrix. I have his Woodstock strat, and lyrics tattooed on my leg. I own the woodstock dvd, numerous tab books, any poster I can find, hendrix boxers, t-shirts, box set, I'm currently trying to buy all of his major recordings, I have a 11 record vinyl set. I absolutely love his music and what he did for guitar playing, he is such a versatile guitarist that can put out a radio friendly hit, delve into the blues, and create some trippy a** rock. I bought the Fuzz Face like he had at Woodstock too, and I'm trying to find out which Vox wah he used. He had such a great tone and knew how to manipulate every sound the guitar could make. He is my guitar idol.

ya i know about it. better idea is to get the digitech rp 250. you can recreate the hendrix pedal in it ( i did it and it worked!) and it has a million other pedals in it too. super durable too. it only costs 150$ and it has all the pedals that youll ever use in your life along with extra amp- models. with it also you can record to your computer

I personally would rather use the equipment he used than something that would model that sound. I found the Vox wah it's a Vox v847 but they have a remake the Vox v947A. I just ordered it on Musicians Friend.
Now I'm trying to see what pickups his Strat had. I am obsessed.

I'd say most guitarist don't start playing to become famous, which of course there is always an exception. But, they want to essentially show their artistic ability with others and express themselves. That being said, I believe Jimi Hendrix was a very talented guitarist and knew how to express himself which has caused him to become a legend that he is today.

jimi hendrix defines guitar greatness, he was a pioneer in effects and developed the first reverb (my fav effect) plus he was just a great musician, he cant be beat, sux that he died at 27. Him and Eric Clapton are the best guitarists ever, followed by Randy Rhoads.
