There isn't much we know about the days James and his friends (us naturally) spent at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. What you do know of us is based on snippets of conversation and flashbacks from the series, but don't we all wonder what it was like from our perspective?

It is the fifth year that we will be attending at Hogwarts. This year is very important because it's going to be our first introduction into what we'll be able to do after we graduate. It's about a month after the school year has started and we're all just getting back into the swing of things.

Word that Voldemort is growing stronger and has been spotted all over England but no one seems overly concerned about that as it has been quite a while since he last acted. Some say that he is still gathering new followers to help him in his rise, though there really is no proof or way of knowing.

So why worry? Who wants to spend their time worrying about rumors that may not be true? Not us! There are better things to do with one's time than expend it on unnecessary stress. Let's make some memories!

I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Username: Joukai/ Nozuchi no Mikoto
Character name: Ari Nádasdy
Age: 15 (turning 16 this year)
Sex: male
Year: Fourth year
House: Gryffindor
Appearance: Slender and elegant, about 5'5" tall. He has gorgeous pale skin, and a flawless, beautiful face (it's enough to make any girl jealous). His long, bone straight, deep wine red hair reaches just past his shoulderblades, and is usually tied back with a black ribbon. His eyes are an inky black, yet somehow don't quite match with his face.
Other: He is very quiet and shy, and he doesn't seem to have very many friends, mostly keeping to himself, either in his dormitory, or almost out of sight in the common room, in the corner reading a book. He tends to get teased for various things, such as his shyness, his hair, and the fact that he's a year behind everyone his age (he's supposed to be a fifth year, but for unknown reasons, he's not).
He has a white cat named Leonidas (nicknamed Leo).

Remus Lupin sat quietly outside the castle watching the late afternoon sun reflect off the surface of the Black Lake. It was a brisk fall day and he'd decided to spend the few hours before dinner enjoying it. After all. It wouldn't be too long until the weather took a turn for the worst.

A transfiguration book lay open on the boy's lap, but he scarcely paid any attention to it except for a brief glance every now and then. For the past hour he'd been bust trying to transform an average sized stone into an average sized teacup. This had been a lesson from his first year at Hogwarts and he intended to go over all his old spells at least once before the Ordinary Wizarding Levels.

To be quite honest with himself, Remus had never been fond of transfiguring. That was James's specialty. Nonetheless, he'd have to improve if he wanted to pass his OWLs this year. The werewolf brushed the longish brown hair from his eyes and tried again. Porcelain this time, but chipped. An improvement nonetheless.

It wasn't long before the Gryffindor mastered the spell. He tossed the now perfect teacup up in the air smiling slightly when he saw the giant squid's tentacle emerge briefly from the water. It was a perfect afternoon that could only be made better by the presence of his friends, who were, for some reason, absent. They'd be there soon enough.

"Oy!" came a familiar young male voice from behind the tree, "Moony, have you been working on this all afternoon?"
As he swung around the branch of the tree, James Potter put out his hand to catch the teacup midair as Remus had tossed it, stepping forward a few lazy paces, and flopping down in the grass beside him.
He inspected it for a moment, before a rogue-ish, handsome grin came over him. His free hand idly rose to push his glasses up his nose, before reaching down into the pocket of his robes and extracting his wand. With a graceful flick and spoke aloud a desired incantation, the teacup grew in his hand and became a beautiful dove.
He turned to look at Remus, wiggling his ebony eyebrows as the dove fluttered off his fingers and into Remus's lap. His grin broadened, slight dimples imrpessing into his cheeks as it did.
"Oops," he said sarcastically, "I suppose I missed 'rock' by a few marks,"

"You're a git", Remus replied, not unkindly. He closed the book and gave Prongs a light shove. "Where is everybody? I expected we'd all meet here before dinner, but so far only you've showed up."

Giving his own wand a little wave he returned the dove to its original stony form, but left a few feathers for effect. There. That was better. He brushed at his shabby robes out of habit and leaned back to look up at the sky.

"The days are too short James."

"Too short?" he repeated. He knew what he meant, but his tone--even if forced to be so--sounded sarcastic and incredulous, "It's not even winter yet, Remus," he grinned, nudging him back and casting his eyes at the lake, "should hate to see you whining over the lack of daylight by the time Christmas comes 'round,"

They were upon last years at Hogwarts school. This place had been such a large part of their lives; in a few short years, it would be over. Dark things were looming on the horizon, and he knew that when they left school, they would join efforts against said dark things. Right now, however, James did what he could to avoid the subject of their slowly dying childhoods.

Recognizing his friend's thinly veiled attempt at skirting the subject Remus obliged without argument. "I can see how that would fall under the category of unreasonable," he said vaguely. Like James, his mind was somewhere else, somewhere examining the possibilities of what life after Hogwarts had in store for them.

It seemed to him that James and Sirius had a whole array of options waiting. With James's talent and Sirius's status (however undesirable he may have found it) the two stood more than a good chance of making a name for themselves in the wizarding world. Remus, however, would find the same task somewhat more difficult because of what he was. If it hadn't been for his friends, he might not have even been able to stay at this school. Sure, Dumbledore was the reason he was here, but Sirius, James, and Peter....They were what made it bearable.

Luckily this was only speculation. He still had two years before they were all dumped out into the world.

"So, any idea where the others have gotten off to?"

"No clue," he said, looking rather troubled and picking at his fingernails. He tried to make his tone sound absent, but--rather unlike him--it came out a bit shaken and concerned.
"In fact, I haven't seen them all day. I....," he frowned again, wearing an odd face, "I haven't seen much of anyone all day, actually. Was there a Hogsmeade visit we were unaware of? It IS a rather.... nice day...,"

Not moments after James commented on the day did it begin to change before their eyes. The sky darkened just a a bit, and a cold wind blew past them, making the trees of the Forbidden Forest positively tremble, leaves rustling. However, the Hogwarts grounds remained empty, and rather quiet.

Across the grounds, the surface of the Black Lake, completely still moments before, began to move. Tiny ripples danced across smooth surface of the water, slowly increasing in number and size.

The wind grew still, the grounds went silent. Slowly, two figures rose from the depths of the lake, breaking the surface.

James's mahogany eyes widened, and he watched in horrified fascination as the beautiful day decayed before their eyes. His eyes glanced at the quivvering of the forest, then at Remus.
However, the ripples caught his eye, and very slowly, very reluctantly, his gaze turned back towards the lake, his hair blowing out of his face and nearly knocking his glasses askew by the force of the wind.

Who was that, rising out of the lake before them.........?

He felt himself scoot sideways on the lawn, his hand making to grab hold of Remus's arm, but as he was unable to take his eyes from the lake, he kept missing him somehow.

The young werewolf winced, bringing an arm up to protect his eyes from the sudden gust of wind. As be felt James's hand grip his other arm he squinted, trying to see what was happening.

People in the lake? Were the merpeople? No....They looked familiar...

Slowly, the figures freed themselves from the lake, and drew closer to James and Remus sat. After a moment, it was possible to see just who they were. They were, without a doubt, the figures of their friends, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.

But... they looked different, somehow, other than the fact that they were dripping wet from the lake. Their skin... it looked so colorless. And their eyes... they were so sunken, and seemingly without pupils. They moved like humans, but... different. Sirius's strong gait never looked like that. Even Peter's movements were too odd to belong to him.

Even as the other two were taking in the sight of the odd appearance of their friends, they were slowly making their way towards them.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 25, 2007 5:50 pm

James stared in disbelief at his friends. What were they doing in the lake? And, more importantly, what was wrong with them? They looked so lifeless... like corpses, but animated. They were moving towards he and Remus, but how? How could they see, from pupil-less eyes?
His mind shot through medical infirmity books and curses, but nothing, no solution, explanation, or countercurse came to his mind. They looked dead. So dead.
"Sirius!" he said, standing up, "Peter, are you okay?"

To himself, his voice sounded echoed and distant. Frowning, he shook his head and stepped cautiously forward towards them, wand still in hand after transforming the teacup.

Remus's blood ran cold at the sight of his two friends approaching him. Their pale faces, lifeless eyes made him sick to the very pit of his stomach. It was as if they were floating on the air, nothing to hold them up or propel them forward. He stood and took a few nervous steps forward, looking at them worriedly.

"Sirius!" he choked grappling for his wand, which he'd pocketed earlier. "Lumos!" The pool of cool blue light lit the dark area around him and James and reflected of the black surface of the lake.
