I was crying and pretty much hysterical, and my mom found a way to calm me down - she asked questions about twilight. About the significance of the apple and the cover of new moon. About Stephenie's family, about when eclipse is coming out and all the spoilers I could possibly know about it.
Then, once I was calm, she asked if I thought she was too old for it. She knows Im pretty obsessed, so I guess she wants to be involved.
Now, my mom and I are close, we do lots of things together, we like a lot of the same things. As far as entertainment, the only things we have every disagreed on are pretty much My Chemical Romance, My Humps, and...Twilight.
Should I let her read it, or tell her its not for her?
Have your parents ever read Twilight or expressed interest in doing so?

I told my mom about Twilight and now she is a huge fan. I like her being obsessed about the books as I am. We have huge disscusions about it and if one of the book signings are at one of the bookstores by my house, which is often, she takes me over to see Stephenie. I think it's kind of nice^^

Huh, that would be really cool.
I think she was just trying to cheer me up though. I asked her if she wanted the book to read and she keeps saying shes busy, or "not right now" or "maybe later" even though shes saying that she needs a break but theres noting on tv. whee
But I guess that would be cool if she liked it.

My mom has read it and New Moon. I pretty much pass on any books I read and vice versa. (Though she's the bigger reader than I am.)

My mum think's my obsession is ridiculous, So I think you should let her read it. I mean, if nothing, you'll at least have someone else to talk about the wonderful series with.

Ive tried to get my mom to read it but she seems only interested in Dark shadows when it comes to vampires. Sadly though i still love her. I wish she would read Twilight or New Moon, i think she would like it. Just give your mom time and she might acctually read it...

To keep my mom awake on the drive home, I read Twilight to her, haha.
She LOVES it. Seriously, Im shocked. She hasnt gotten to the part that the Cullens are "vegetarians," so shes still upset about that, but she'll come around.
Im actually really excited, she loves Stephenie's writing style.

My mom read it after me, and she liked it alot. I kinda feel odd when I am reading some parts and wonder what her reactions are since she is older then me, and I wsn't sure if she could related to it as well as me. I am obsessed to say that least, and I am glad she isn't.
But I am not sure, sometimes I wish my mom hadn't read it...

My mom's not into reading fiction much anymore. So I doubt she'll every read this. When I went to the bookstore to get Twilight, she actually argued with me on whether I really needed to buy Twilight because she knew I had already read it from the library. But I still got it!
One of my friends really wanted to read it, but she has that one thing where she sees letters backwards and has a harder time reading. So she had her mom read it to her! So they got it at the same time and they both loved it! But it kind of weirded my friend out when her mom told her Edward was cute. eek

I think my Mom's kind of scared by the Twilight series when I wake up in the morning and go "11 daaaaaays!!" [Till Eclipse] I've been writing it on the chalkboard in the kitchen for a month now. She doesn't seem any interested in reading them, though.
My Dad did ask me at one point about New Moon. Obviously he wanted a full summary because he kept asking questions... >.>
But yeah.. I can't see any of my parents reading them anytime soon. I'm all "PRO-VAMPIRE" and my dad's kind of opposite. But oh well. :]

My parents didnt want me reading it at first, because I used to be scared out of my mind of vampires. Seriously, it made me paranoid, and I had nightmares every week.
But then they realized that stopped, so I guess it made her wonder.
I actually came out today all excited...and this happened!
Me: 11 days! ...Untill- Mom: Eclipse! biggrin
I was like whoooa eek haha
