I'm going to try something new. I live in a haunted dorm and a crazy ammount of paranormal phenomenon is happening. So I figure that I'll keep anyone that's interested posted on the happenings of Becht (my dorm) and ask for suggestions in searching for the truth.
Hopefully we can have a good time doing it.

Introduction I live in a 100 year old dorm on a campus in the Eastern United States. The building itself is the oldest dorm on campus and was one of the original buildings still standing.
Becht is the site of two well known spirits on campus, Martha (a protective den mother) and Rose (the spirit of a girl who was murdered in or around Becht).
We have carpeted floors and curiously, many rooms have iron marks burnt into the carpet. The local lore in the halls is that Martha put them there for some reason or the other. Some say it means that she likes you and won't bother you and others claim that the marks mean that she is protecting your room. If there is laundry that needs to be folded, some say that they will find it folded, courtesty of Martha.
Rose on the other hand is in every sense a poltergeist. Popular legends say that she was a little girl kidnapped by a kitchen worker (the building's first floor served as a dining hall as well) and all they found of her was a bloodied scarf in an elevator that the university has since closed. There is a documented account (found in an old campus paper story) that Rose was a student rather than a child. But either a school child or a student, accounts say Rose loves balloons and if left on the first floor, the balloon will move on its own accord despite the lact of wind. (Becht has no air conditioning and all heat in the winter comes from radiators)
Darker lore of the college states that before the college was founded, there were mines where the college sits now. At some point there was a collaspe of part of the mine killing about 20 miners. Years later when the college began as a seminary, the teachers in training had several children in their care. During recess the children would go into the then abandoned mines. One day a boy got lost in them and when the seminary staff found him he was a mental mess and kept muttering about "them". Apparently, the mines run right under campus with three entrances scattered about. Becht apparently has an entrance to the mines. Back in the 40's girls used to use the tunnels to sneak over to the boy's dorm after curfew. And apparently the ghosts of the miners seem to have been carried over to Becht.
So that is my haunted dorm! Next post I can begin telling you all about my personal experiences. So please tell me what you all think!

A few weeks ago I was going up to my fourth floor room and as I was walking to the bathroom I noticed six or more guys at the door. It ends up that they were curious about the ghosts too so we went into one of the rooms where my neighbor and our friend tried to do an EVP.
They showed me what they got, (a man's voice saying "Leave here now") and I suppose the guys were curious to see if my neighbor and our friend were telling the truth. So I decide to help them out with this. We went and did our own EVP on a different recorder.
…and we got the SAME voice say “W”. (we were saying the alphabet and leaving a space every sixth letter)
The guys also reported feeling a cool breeze under the bed. The bed is away from the window, and the window had been closed for some time before that hot night.
Well, they guys were pumped and wanted to go into an inhabited room and do another EVP. (note: not many students come during the summer and the forth floor has three rooms that are occupied. All the others are locked. Even the one we were in was unlocked by an ra.) One of the guys who actually lived in this room (21 cool claimed that his closet door was opening and closing.
So we were in there and recording. We decided to go around the room and say our favorite colors then leave a space for the ghost to hopefully say its. Well, we had several guys say blue, we had a green or two, a few reds and a pink (me. lol) When we played it back we got a male voice say “yellow” it did not belong to anyone and nobody recalls hearing the color yellow.
We also caught the same male voice (same as the one in 411 and on my neighbor’s tape) say “You guys are all nuts”.
We had sooo much proof that I could not wait to show a professor who is an authority on spirits. Unfortunately my friend’s tape recorder was thrown by some unknown force during the night. It fell from his desk (which is not a real big drop) but when they found it the tape had popped out. We played it again to make sure everything was ok and the voices were playing fast (with the speed knob set on a normal speed). We still can’t get the tape to play right.
Later that day, I was in the same friend’s room and we were nowhere near his desk where the recorder sat. All of the sudden, the pause button was pushed by an unseen source and the recorder began to make weird noises.

That reminds me of when i finally got some photos of my ghost, the photos were destroyed and the negatives went missing, you need a digital one, it's harder to sabatauge and can immeadetly be transferred to a computer, we got one but our ghost doesn't make muc noise, but it just did today, it scared me, a lot...

GemEncrustedEarth will be returning and living with me in the fall but for now I'm up here taking taking courses and she's at home for the summer.
Actually, I have some updates. The guy who got the EVP that was destroyed was able to get a hold of the buildings' history in the archives and took me along for fun.
Anywho, we found an old newspaper clipping talking about the haunted campus and when it recounted the story of Rose, it mentioned a fact that I had not known before...the bloody scarf that they had found in the shaft was...YELLOW.
the same color that we caught a man's voice say on our EVP when we asked the favotie color.
And I am dead serious.
Also just this week, friend and I are standing by this waterfountian near a vacant room where we keep road cones and luggage carts (don't ask) we keep the door unlocked for easy access. Anywho, the door was closed. The friend can contest to that. All of the sudden, we see the door move like its closing and then turn just in time to see it slammed shut.
Opened the door, no one in there. It couldn't be the wind because it was literally shut before hand.
And just today, around 9 pm, the friend and myself were up in another vacant room. He and a guy in his class were working on a group project and I was helping them bullshit their way through it. The subject of jousting with luggage carts is mentioned and Cory goes to get them out for the guy to see. And the door is locked. seconds later, it opens.
that's all I have of becht now. If anything else happens or if I remember something I forgot to mention it will be posted.

Maiden-Ishbal375 that's all I have of becht now. If anything else happens or if I remember something I forgot to mention it will be posted. The little girl's voice we both heard on your tape. It was picked up in two different spots on the same floor. All that I really know at the moment is the little girl responds to Rose and is about 5-8 years old.

Maiden and a friend of our's did an EVP of Maiden's old room (room 31 cool . I got to listen to the tape a day later. On the tape was a young girl's voice saying "help me. help me." We believe this to be the voice of young Rose. Anyway, Maiden and I did another EVP in Maiden's room a little bit later. Her closet door started to open on its own and on the tape you hear me run towards the door saying repeatedly "shut it off. shut it off. shut it off." I have never felt more scared in my life. It took saying two Hail Mary's for me to calm down. I was shaking so hard it was noticable. Yes I'm religious but I can tell you I haven't felt that much of a need to pray in years.
Anyway, Maiden asks me if I want to go investigate what we believed was an old closed-off elevator shaft. I say yes but that's my last EVP ever. So we head over and place the tape recorder in the middle of the right half of the old elevator shaft and sit on the left side. (This is as you are looking at it.) The elevator shaft has since been converted into an area with mirrors. Well, we start the player and begin by introducing ourselves and saying that we both want to work with children. Eventually we start a game. Maiden says the letter A, I say B, and we leave a space for C. We get most of the way through the alphabet before Maiden forgets her letter so we give up. We also ask Rose what her favorite animal is. We finish the EVP and take it back to Maiden's room to listen. We have picked up the same little girl's voice saying the letter C pretty darn clearly and something that we're not sure. We know it's her but we're not sure if she's imitating an owl or moaning.

Xalte This is cool stuff man, i keep coming to this board every day =P Some of this stuff scares the pants off of me. Maiden knows about this. The one day we were on the first floor (coming from my dorm I believe) and there is an area that just screams "new." So I go and close my eyes and put my hands on the wall. I got a sensation of going up and some glimpses of colors kinda like a person in a dress or robe whipping around a corner. The wall my hands are on is white and the rest of the surrounding area is white. Creepy isn't it?

More like fun =P I'm a serious Ghost Hunter man, I did get scared when i heard those large thumps today because my activity rate has increased turns out the dog scared the crap outta me *shrugs*
