Tapping her tail patiently against the ground Del waited outside the gate to the Renaissance Faire. She'd invited a Fleur to come along with her and Echo to see this strange spectacle. People who were natives to Earth took over a huge empty area for a week and turned it into into a replica of a time called the renaissance on Earth.
From the myriad of sights, sounds and smells already present from her position Del had a feeling this was going to be a lot of fun. In addition to that she'd researched Faires a bit before committing and had decided to dress up. she knew one could purchase or rent period appropriate clothing at the faire but she wasn't sure she wanted to spend that much money just yet.
Instead she'd taken her more modern clothes and built the best facsimile outfit she could, sticking to neutral earth tones and things with natural looking buttons or straps instead of zippers. all in all she didn't look like any of the more dedicated faire goers or the workers but she did blend in as well as a shiny gray dolphin could.
That too pleased Del that the Fair was open to everyone even if their race was not something you'd ever find there. The Faire might be run by humans alone but Del could see many people of many races coming and going.
Her silvery eyes looked over at Echo who was laying on the ground basking in the sun and attention he was getting. His bright gold hide confusing any who inquired about him and learned he was in fact a Bronze dragon. He was being a bit of a vain little thing puffing out his chest and extending his wings to onlookers for more attention.
This was to be expected though Del remembered from her class, Bronze's were supposed to be vain. It certainly didn't help that dragons and Ren faires were apparently a good combination.

Fleur squealed with delight as he darted between booth after booth, unable to center his concentration on any one sight. His dragon was having a very hard time keeping up with him though she was very thankful he had at least not begun shopping yet, so she was not subjected to having to carry around several shopping bags in addition to trying to keep close to him.
The skunk was in sensory overload - the scents of all the wonderful food and perfumes and incenses were heavenly, and all the bright colors just made it that much better - surely, this was paradise! He had done a little of his own research before coming and was very glad he had. The week before, he was quick to make a costume - a flowing dress of blue silk and black lace - and it was so comfortable, he wished he had thought of it before. After all, he had a sewing machine now - why on earth had he not experimented with it sooner? He would have to thank Delphinidae profusely when he found her for inviting him.
Fleur skidded to a stop at that thought, suddenly remembering exactly why he was here in the first place: Del called him and invited him. In his excitement, he had completely forgotten which was very embarrassing. Distractions shoved aside, the skunk started looking around for her unique, rubbery tail and the gold-colored bronze dragon he knew would be with her, his ears perking up at a thought. That was right - the last time they met, Argent had not yet hatched. Fleur could hardly wait for them to meet now.

Turning her head Del caught site of her friend already inside the faire, motioning for Echo to follow she headed towards Fleur " Hey Fleur there you are.. and is that your dragon?' she inquired. Grey eyes wide Del wasn't certain whether she was more surprised by what the skunk boy was wearing or the sight of him with a dragon. He had grown since she'd last seen him as well.
( bah brain melt also didn't want echo reacting to argent till I knew what she was))

"Del!" Fleur called, skidding to a stop near her and beaming. "How have you been?" He looked down at Argent who was wheezing a little in her exhaustion trying to keep pace with him. "Yes, this is Argent," the skunk answered, reaching down to scratch his dragon's mohawk-esque fin. "I don't know why she's so tired - we've hardly done anything yet!"
The silver dragon gave her boy a mortified look. Hardly done anything, her scaly tail! She had only been chasing him from one end of the faire to the other for the last hour! She dreaded the next few hours. Sure, there was a lot to see and eat here, but she could hardly enjoy it with her skunk rushing about the way he was, and she was definitely not looking forward to when he was going to begin shopping. How she wished Stevie would put a limit on his credit card...

Del grinned an tapped her tail on Echo's nose ignoring the glare he gave her. " Sokay echo's just been getting looked at and he'd pretending to be worn out." she eyed the silvery dragon " I think it's the metallic dragons they get all vain and fussy whenever we make them do stuff. I Think I remember something like that in my class about them. It'd been an awfully long time ago and anything Del hadn't deemed important had been forgotten. " So what do you want to do first? have you ot the list of scheduled events" there's a joust today and a small theater play that look interesting Oh and i wanted to see that history of castles presentation with the mock battle with figurines if you don't mind." Del didn't have her heart set on much but there were a few things at the Faire she really wanted to do.
Echo puffed out his chest in annoyance then sighed and lowered himself in a bow to Argent. " A pleasure to meet you, I expet you'll be a pleasant change of company."
( lol did you know Echo carries Del's stuff as well, Has since a Pd a while back with Azoc where he swung the bags he was carrying to hit people chasing them and slow them down.)

Fleur giggled girlishly at that description, agreeing wholeheartedly. "You're probably right," he giggled. "She certainly gets all haughty when she gets dirty!" When prompted, Fleur pulled out the list of events from his moth-eaten messenger bag, his constant companion since toddlerhood. It was the one thing he did not force Argent to carry since it held his perfume, and he had to have that readily available in case he ever had an "accident".
"Let's see..." the skunk murmured, holding open the program. "The castle presentation is in about ten minutes. The main thing I want to do is shop." Fleur beamed, looking forward to that immensely.
Argent squeaked and bowed in return to Echo, chirping in draconic, "H-Hi - you speak English already? I haven't learned yet..." The more she had that fact rubbed in her face though, the more determined she was to learn soon.

" Well we could shop after the presentation, oh and my father said barter is common her so we'll have to watch people haggle before we try to buy things." Del eyed her friend with amusement. He'd changed not only gotten taller but more.. she wasn't sure how to put it just more gentle maybe, Silly for sure in a way but not, sort of like Kay but not useless. Oh well she'd figure it out in time.
Echo shook his head " I speak like you only different, it is the word is Dialect the same sort of language but not quite which is why you understand. If I spoke English they would pay more attention to what I said." Echo had been around humans long enough that he understood their language enough to hear and interpret it in vocal and written for but not yet could he speak it beyond perhaps a word or two.

"Barter?" Fleur repeated with a surprised blink. He never thought of that. "I just assumed 'have credit card, will travel'." Bartering might be fun though! "Where's the presentation? We don't want to miss it." Fleur smiled up at her, twitching his tail. Actually, he just wanted to hurry up with it so he could go shopping, but he was not so rude as to say that.
"Ohh," Argent murmured in response. "I just figured since you're older than me...I want to learn English so badly." She was beginning to become desperate. She could understand it perfectly, but her mouth and throat just refused to cooperate when she tried to speak it.

" Follow me" Del said heading off the in direction she remembered from the map. " You always barter when you can, I mean I'm sure the items are worth full price but it's sort of the whole experience you know becuase back then people did it too.. She paused for a second and looked over her shoulder to give the boy a smile " I like your dress where did you get it?" dresses and Del's form didn't get along that well. With back and elbow fins that jutted out from her body she's need something custom made to actually flatter her in any sense of the word.(Her own faire clothing have been altered in order to accomadate this.) Still she appreciated nice clothes.
As they followed their partner Echo smiled and whispered softly in English to argent so as not to disturb the kids " Trouble". He immediately switch back to draconic " It's hard, really hard but the first thing you need to learn is that becuase the words aren't natural you have to use an un natural way of speaking them. They won't just come out like our laguage you have to use effort. I suggest your start with words you can sort of growl. when you build that rumbling it helps move the word out. There ;s some trick to it i'm sure but i don't know it yet.
( you can skip us through the presentation if you like. i just want Del to have watched it so i have basis for knowledge learned)

"I made it!" Fleur squeaked, very proud of himself. "I found some websites on medieval clothes and went from there." He twirled around in his dress happily. "I think I'm going to design clothes when I grow up - it's a lot of fun!"
Argent squinted, mulling over Echo's advice as their kids sat through the presentation. From where she sat under Fleur's seat, she tried following the other dragon's advice, growling out a few words though after a few tries, it only left her coughing from the vibration tickling her throat. "This is a lot harder than it should be..." she grumbled.

As the pair and their dragons watched the presentation Del found herself learning quite a lot. She doubted she could build a castle but at least know she knew a lot more about them and what castle life was like and how they were used in battle. All in all it was pretty fascinating though Del knew she was enjoying it a bit more than her friend was.
When it was over she stood and smiled " well that was fun now it's shopping time." Fleur was sure to enjoy that a lot more . " Oh about you designing clothes when you're older, I think that would be cool. Would you ever make something for me. You have no ide how hard it is to find clothes to fit my body." With an awkward tail and elbow fins and dorsal fin Del wasn't suited to most clothes.
Echo nodded but smiled encouragingly " You'll get it I'm sure It takes time and experience but you'll get it." Personally Echo thought it was easier for Del to read his body language and vocalizations than it was for him to try and learn her language though he was trying."

Fleur stretched as he stood up when the presentation ended, pleased with how much he learned though he was still anxious to start shopping. He listened intently to Del, his blue eyes lighting up when she asked about him making clothes for her. "I'd love to!" he squeaked, his tail bushing happily. "I'd just need to take your measurements." He said it innocently enough, and it was true, but he also knew it would be a fantastic opportunity to get his hands on her tail. He had always wondered what it felt like, and he would have to feel it to measure how big the base was and cut a proper hole.
Argent nodded, determined now that she knew one of the tricks. "I'll keep trying," she agreed before looking up at Fleur and Del, letting out a sigh. "Wonderful...time to carry bags for the shopaholic..."

( i am so sorry for the lapses between my responses.)
Del grinned " Great, I can just imagine the sort of things you'd come up with.Ph and why don't you lead the way while we shop that way you can visit the places that interest you most first." Del wasn't exactly a lady of olden times but she did have manners and a sense of understanding that shopping was Fleur's domain.
Which was not to say that she didn't like it just that of all the things to do at a ran faire it wasn't the highest of her list.
Echo laughed "As they would say, been there done that. If things get too heavy I can carry them for you for a while."

Fleur let out a delighted squeak and happily did as Del suggested, leading the way to the rows of shops. "Oh, are you hungry?" he asked as he zeroed in on the first stall - one filled with lovely, vibrant fabrics he could certainly use to make his friend some pretty clothes. "We can get something to eat while we shop."
The silver dragon rolled her eyes. "Trust me," Argent cautioned Echo. "If he has his way, he'll have us both carrying his junk before the day is over."

Del's grey eyes scanned the fabrics as she listened to Fleur. " That'd be nice we'll just have to avoid anything really messy I wouldn't want to spin or stain anything." Del wanted to buy things but not becuase of the you break it you bought it rule.
Echo merely smiled " One day they'll learn though that we can only be pushed so far, still they mean well.
