Questions and Answers

Trent, Eden, and soon the baby all belong to a very special race of beings called Djinn, but I'm sure some of you are wondering; 'What exactly are Djinn anyways?'. This section will catalog important information about the Djinn race.

What are Djinn?
The term djinn (alt. spellings jinn and jinni) are, basically, genies. No. Not Disney, big blue guys, three wishes; but rather, a race of supernatural beings from pre-Islamic Arabian mythology.

Arabs believed that the djinn were spirits of fire, although sometimes they associated them with succubi. Eden and Trent are characters based off the Weather Wardens book series, in which the djinn are used as amplifiers for a warden’s power, and fall into the spirits of fire category. All of the following information about Djinn will be based off the information given in these books, not traditional mythology.

What can they do?
Djinn have a verity of powers, but usually specialize in only one or two areas. They can use their powers to create things out of what appears to be thin air. They often specialize in powers related to fire, but it is not unusual to find a Djinn who is good at working with time, air, space, matter, balance, ect. . .

In short, it all depends on the Djinn.

Wait a durn minuet, isn't that Godmodding?!?
No. Now hold on before you go off ranting, here is why I am not Godmodding. . . Eden is not fully Djinn. She is sort of a half-breed and does not have very many of the powers available to the race. The baby will have Djinn blood in him/her, but still not be full Djinn. Trent is dead; I am not role-playing Trent as alive, therefore I cannot Godmod what I'm not playing. Finally, any/all the other Djinn who may show up are secondary characters . . . they work in the background and only make slight movements to the plot. I'm not playing them as "OMG all-power beings who can rule the world and do everything!" they will all have limits.

Why Kaylee Jayne? You some sort of Firefly fangirl freak?
Well. . . In short no. Through the years I was questing for Eden's baby the child's concept was fairly formless. I changed the gender, personality, appearance, ect millions of times in my head. While I questing I didn't want to be tied to a single concept. So when I finally got an appointment and it was time for the baby to come, I had to come up with a name. Yes, I like Firefly, it's a wonderful series. But I named my baby Kaylee because I thought it was cute and would be reflective of the personality I wanted to give to child. Jayne was because I like "Jane" as a middle name, but decided I liked how the alternate spelling looked when written, so she became Kaylee Jayne.
