I read some of it too.
I don't really understand what's wrong with the series though. Everyone I've recommended the book to have loved it and became fanatics with me.
Oh well...*sighs*

"I LOVE THE BOOK SO STFU <3 Anyways, to be honest, i didn't even read the whole thread. Anti- threads are ridiculous to me. If you don't like something, keep your face shut. Or lie.
Moving on,
"Bella and Edward = Mary-Sue and Gary-Stu respectively" Not at ALL. They are completely imperfect. Bella = total clutz, not great socially, seems to say/do the wrong thing, makes bad decisions.......perfect people are perfect, meaning no flaws. SO OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT PERFECT.
Edward = he's a vampire. PERFECT PEOPLE AREN'T VAMPIRES! anyways, since he is a vampire, thus he has so many things to deal with. and he's trying to be a GOOD vampire, so he's trying not to feast on humans, he's trying to live among them. addiction. THAT IS THE SAME AS TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING! Except smoking isn't what we need to live, they need blood to live. Though it does not need to be human.
And its not like "OH LOOK WE'RE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER LETS LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER" They have trouble talking to each other. They are not similar. They broke up for a LONG LONG LONG time. Bella found someone else. Edward tried to commit suicide. But then never did. But then got back together after about a year? Its a whole long thing about it.
"- Edward is HOT. We get it. Good for you." Well duh. He's a SUPERIOR race. Meaning better. Therefor, no duh! Anyways, what's wrong with talking about how beautiful someone is? Other books/movies/real life people do that too. They talk about people so much because they love them so much.
"- Ms. Meyer's first-person POV sucks. She just can't pull it off. Why is that? Because she doesn't find a way to explain anything but Bella. We never get to know how Edward works because Bella never thinks it, of course, and Ms. Meyer shows no other way of expressing it. (NOTE: We all know about Midnight Sun, so please don't bring it up as you're sole argument for this point. We've heard it all before, but the fact is that, Ms. Meyer shouldn't have to write another book to explain things that should have been shown in the original.)"
She did it ON PURPOSE, SO she could write another book. Believe it or not, but lots of authors do that, so you can learn in more detail.
"- Much too little actual conflict in the story. But this probably stems from having flawless main character."
Once again, Bella is not at all flawless. In fact, her character is almost all made up of flaws. How can you miss that?
"- She threw away the best part! The actual falling in love! It's supposed to happen slowly... there's supposed to be intimacy and sweetness and awkwardness. But no. It's right-off-the-bat in love. They both know it instantly. From then on it's just fighting to stop his species from keeping them apart."
Not at all. She falls in love with his beauty. Easy to happen quickly, people in real life do it all the time. He falls in love with her scent. Same concept as beauty. When you like one thing about somebody so much, you want to make the other things about them work, too.
Anyways, it's really low to make an "ANTI" club. It just shows that you really don't care about the fans/author's feelings, and by the points you have written show that you know little about relationships, or at least the kind they share.
Anyways, it's really low to make an "ANTI" club. If you don't like something, its FINE to say your opinions, but make a hate thread is just going too far.
Thats all i have to say now. Thank you"
From a very dedicated fan. This made me laugh. She requested to join, and I've been sorta talking to her. I hope she doesn't offended that I put her words here....

Actually, I disagree.
I mean, if they don't like something, I don't see the problem with being able to rant about something that bothers or annoys you. I mean, ranting helps release the energy that if it didn't get released, it would probably cause you to uzi your school.
They're entitled to their opinion of the book, and they even welcome fans to defend the book and debate.
I see nothing wrong with it. If fans are so insulted by it, they don't have to read it. rolleyes

To be honest, I agree with them on a few points.
Stephenie did leave out a lot of them falling in love and stuff. That would have been nice to read about instead of right-off-the-bat love.
I also wouldnt call Bella a mary sue, but all the vampires are.
I guess Twilight just isnt some peoples cup of tea, although I dont know why theyd complain so thoroughly.

I think Bella fits in the Mary-Sueness of because Stephenie puts a lot of her experiences in Bella's character. Plus, Bella kind of reminds me of Tohru, only instead of sugar, Bella's character has sweet-n-low. ^_^;

Well I understand both sides. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and to voice it (sorta...hehe keyboard and all....). And I even understand the ranting. But make a guild or something. That's what us fans did. We made a thread to rant about how much we enjoy Twilight/New Moon.
I don't know. I am upset about the thread.
I guess I'm neutral in this. I'm not taking sides, I was just shocked and upset.

Not that many people are clumsy like that...
